By the way, my MVP list as of today is: Brady (playing outstanding) Prescott (played better competition) Allen (On a roll against lesser teams until Sunday) When Allen beats Brady, then he will have earned the top spot. Prescott is the wild card here, but they have some tough teams ahead. I don't see Brady giving it up anytime soon...

Thanks.. I've been musing what we are also seeing is the long-game playing out. McBeane know it's 18 weeks, 17 games and then the playoffs start. No one knows yet what the impact of that 17th regular season game will be. But we all know that the Bills were broken at WR during the AFCCG and gassed on the DL. My thinking is you are going to see more and more substitutions over the course of the season. Jackson for Wallace, Klein for Milano, Smith for Edmunds, heavy DL rotation, Kumerow and Mckenzie in at WR, etc. You already see it at RB. 20 gets a series then 26 gets a series then 20 gets a series. I'm betting the Bills are betting that having the whole roster available, seasoned and ready to roll will pay dividends in weeks 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21. Bills might have the best, deepest roster starting to PS of any NFL team. They also might be the only team that has two QB1s on it. I'd actually like to see them feather in some Mitch Trubisky. Teams wouldn't know what to do if MT was suddenly inserted into the game. Get everyone some reps.

Titans OL is in shambles. Very thin and getting thinner. Lewan is dinged. They just lost their left guard. And their backups are on IR.

We will see it dozens of time this week and multiple times on Monday night. During commercial breaks we will see the Hail Murray multiple times.

I rewatched the game on game pass. I slowed down every play and watched the DL play. 1. Groot was even better than I thought. He chased down so many plays. 2. One thing I noticed was how many times the DL came back to the play to make tackles. They rushed and then retreated to make tackles. 3. They looked really fast. As the game wore on, you could see the Chiefs OLINE was gassed. Sure they ran more plays, BUT, where they suffered through 75 plays, the guys across from them were in for 20-30. So they were clearly fresher at the end of the game. 4. The DLINE repeated crashed that pocket forcing Mahommes off his spots, reads and comfort zone. 5. That one scramble of Mahommes where he leaked out to his right and eventually completed an off platform throw to Josh Gordon had an incredible play by Zimmer. If you get a chance to watch it again, watch how fast Zimmer closes on Mahommes. It was like he was shot out of a cannon. He got a real solid, penalty free hit on Mahommes.

My take aways from this article. It explained a lot what my mind did not catch and I even slowed down every play of the game for both sides to watch the plays unfold. 1.) I was wondering what happened to Beasley in this game. The idea that he provides a free release for Sanders was great analysis. So he was a decoy. 2.) I commented on this board the last two weeks that they were setting the stage for KC. But I incorrectly assumed it was to run the ball. So they were tuning up the running game in my mind. The offense just seemed so plain and Allen so not-Allen like (from last year). When in fact, they ran an almost boring offense that got disguised by the big points they were scoring. Nothing on tape for KC to see. 3.) I was beginning to think that the Allen to Diggs magic of last year was over. Thinking back to what Diggs said after the WTF Game (where Beasley was focal) that he would be going off the next week (Texans) you get the distinct impression that teams are never going to know who is the focal point of the game plan anymore. It could be Knox or Diggs or Davis or Sanders. Good luck figuring it out. And you get the sense the players accept this advanced game planning where it's my turn, it's not my turn. 4.) Lastly I was wondering where last year's razzle dazzle was. Things like fake punts, half back options, OL pass TDs. I get the feeling the play book will slowly open up and we will see more and more added.

So I've been itching to say some things about the defense, but didn't want to start a thread. So I'll jump in here. 3 Up, 3 Down Up... 1. Rotating 9 DL in the game was awesome. Less injury potential and fresh bodies to come wave after wave after wave. 2. Edmunds is clearly better playing behind Star. Clearly. 3. "Micah Poyer" or "Jordan Hyde" are playing their best ball behind that new DL this year.. Down.... 1. Milano just doesn't seem capable of staying healthy.. Some guys are just snake-bit. 2. Jerry Hughes is done. Through five games, I literally have not noticed him. 3. Ed Oliver is good for one or two brutal penalties each game..

The fact that Thuney (fractured hand), Kelce (rocked), Hill (knee) and CEH (knee) all were injured in the game, tells me who bullied whom.. Not sure the extent of the injuries, but I was surprised to see Hill and Thuney listed in Monday write ups.. Oh and Patrick with the happy feet, play after play after play..

My favorite stat of the night was when they popped up the Bills are 17-0 when JA17 has both a passing TD and rushing TD in game. Now 18-0..

Next Gen stat of the night: Bills defense did not blitz Patrick Mahommes once in this game. (no other team in the NGS era has played a game without blitzing once).

The afterglow: 1. Glad I went to the game last weekend, weatherwise. 2. Get the feeling these last two weeks were a KC tune-up. Working on running the ball. 3. Singletary had a monster run called back on holding on Williams. He and Moss had great days. 4. I can't remember a game, to include this year's Miami game, where the DL was so utterly dominant. Play after play after play. 5. Nice to see Lewis, Johnson and Klein fill in and requite themselves admirably. 6. Allen threw some pretty, deep balls yesterday in miserable conditions. 7. Knox got game. 8. Loved seeing the stadium packed and loud on a sus weather day. 9. Allen made one pass yesterday to Samuels (I think) that was unbelievable. His pocket collapsed. He back pedaled and threw what looked like a sidearm on one foot and feathered a 20 yard completion to Samuels near the goal line. 10. It was interesting to listen to the CBS crew call the game. They were definitely more fan boy than professional announcers. They were all in on Allen and the Bills defense.

Perfect result last night. NE should have won. If Belly has an ounce of courage to go for it. The new generation of coaches go for it. The old school coach tries an impossible field goal with an aged kicker. 2 games back and looking up in the standings.
