  1. Past hour
  2. They hit that number last year with Von getting 4, and Solomon, Toohill, and Smoot combining for 4.5. So i went with the over.
  3. Yeah, this is a fair viewpoint... I just dont know... there always tends to be paradigm shifts in this league... away from RB, back to RB, Big DL, Fast DL... etc... I think people always look for the advantage to change the narrative... I have kinda felt for a long time now that when you look at QBs making 35mm a year against a starting RB making 3.5mm the conversation is at somepoint gonna switch like is he really 10x more important than me?? (When the answer is no... he is only 10x rarer than you)... anyways... is someone gonna finally start the switch away from paying your top 5 40% of your cap... figuring an more even distribution and attracting B+ players for your other starting 17 is better than averaging b minus players... again, I don't know... but I can see a couple things.. IMO, the wage disparity is increasing and potentially is becoming unproductive... and trends change... does this mean it will... I don't know... but it might... however, if the league keeps making rule changes to favor the QB/WR then it may never... good discussion though...
  4. In an ideal world? Somewhere in Tuscany, or perhaps in an ashram in India. In a more realistic world? The Virgin Islands would be good. I lived on St John for a year and a half and it was beautiful. I miss it. Some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
  5. Good post. Hoecht might be lined up all over is what I have read more than a few times. Can blitz as a LB or off ball guy from anywhere. And i bet McBeane paid and suffered that contract deal because they expect it too
  6. Those are the years that my Shout! Subscription saved me! For me, it was the Rex years. Didn’t like him. He was all hype! I knew as long as he was bumbling around the team had no chance. I wouldn’t say I was disinterested, so much as I just found better things to do with my time. 2016 was the first time I didn’t watch a Bills. I used to do everything imaginable every Sunday to watch those crappy teams! But in 2016, my work took me to the USVI.. then it was one Sunday trying to find a feed.. that it dawned on me… I could be at a beautiful beach with a rum drink. Seemed ridiculous to sit inside and watch the team lose after that… so I had about a year or so.. of just having far better options and was a bit more picky about which games I would try to watch.
  7. Thanks for making it political.
  8. Why do you need to field a team on both sides of the ball? All it takes is one bold (crazy?) GM to never take offensive snaps. Imagine sinking 100% of your salary cap into defensive players and special teams. No quarterback, no offensive lineman. Every time your team gets the ball (on kick or turnover) you try to return for touchdown. If you don't return for a touchdown, on first down, you either attempt a field goal, or punt back to the other team. Never play offense. The typical NFL team takes 63 offensive snaps. Since your team will take zero offensive snaps, your opponents will have to take 125+ snaps. Imagine how tired their OL will get while you platoon the top 40 defensive players in the league against them. Imagine how frustrated your opponent's defense will be as they will never take the field the entire game. You could effectively take about 50% of your opponents salary cap out of the game. You'd have to buy the best kickers, punters and punt returners, and defensive players in the league, but I think no one would want to play you. This would only work in the NFL with the a salary cap.
  9. It kind of depends on where my kids end up living, tbh. I’d like to be within striking range of both of them if possible. My wife and I have talked about selling our home and buying a lake house somewhere in the northeast. Perhaps a return to the finger lakes region. I like the idea of moving south to get away from the cold and snow. We’ll see. I still have have ~20 years to work before I can retire with a full state pension/benefits. 😂
  10. Wow to see Reggie White again like that just so dominate fills my heart with joy. I had forgotten what a game wrecker looked like. Beast 🤩 Keeping hope alive for our Boy though. He has the Heart Has a few things he needs to improve on still for sure but love the Kid
  11. "a set of beliefs impervious to rational discussion" Nailed it.
  12. 1984/85: I honestly can't remember watching a Bills game. Post-Chuck Knox, boring teams, sad old Fergie, then Vince Ferragamo (had to look it up), before Jim Kelly, plus I was in college and just a little distracted.... ... I can't believe I stuck with the team in those JP Losman/Trent Edwards years. But I did.
  13. I think the challenge there was fit with a boundary receiver who's a plus blocker. None of that is really his game, and depth wise they had Shakir and Samuel. They've since added Moore as another similar type of player to McConkey. Is McConkey as effective a player when outdoors, or when its cold ? It's a small sample size, but the splits suggest - no, he is not - https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/M/McCoLa00/splits/2024/. And that was with this slate of outdoor games: New England, Cleveland, Denver, Pittsburgh, and Carolina. So 3 of the worst teams in the league, and 2 playoff teams where he had 7 catches on 14 targets for 77 yards and 0 TDs. It's hard to say one way or another with a really small sample, but i do think sub 9" hands can be an issue with a cold wet ball.
  14. I considered that but determined it was unlikely.
  15. Or maybe there was more than a bachelor’s degree involved
  16. Its a ways out so much can change, but were it to happen today we'd retire in Bali. It really is a paradise. My concerns are around the increasingly conservative indonesian government, climate change, and over development on the island. But so far the Gov does not mess with Bali and the robust tourism industry. You can eat pork and drink beer until you're fat and happy. Should the congestion get too bad, we'd look to another nearby island.
  17. Wow, Tony Romo that high is surprising. I know he was a good QB, but being in that elite tier is interesting.
  18. I def remember you writing up some pretty good detailed summaries of the games from those 2009-2015 years. Maybe because I had been away from fandom a number of years before then but I was back with full passion and drank the KoolAid. I’ll always say 2012 was the most disappointing season of fandom in my life. Just in the huge gap where I thought the team could finish and where they actually wound up.
  19. That would be the idea, but the history of the league is that the “middle class” and down gets squeezed when there’s a money shift. You are asking billionaires who largely don’t enjoy writing big checks to write bigger ones. And the notoriously cash poor ones would be looking to pinch money elsewhere and that paints a bulleyes on the market of the STer commanding $3M a season. For the 2011 CBA, the vets famously wanted the rookie scale implemented. They were sick of guys like Sam Bradford commanding large salaries without paying a snap. Their thought process was “if teams are paying rookies less, there is more money to pay us more.” What happened is that GMs couldn’t ignore that a second to 7th round rookie could reasonably fill in their spot for a fraction of the cost. And there was a real exodus of lower class vets out of the league. Why pay a backup DB or LB $2M when basically the entire rookie class will make less than them? This got so bad that they had to implement that the rule regarding LEAGUE MINIMUMS that scaled with years served had to be written so that the cap hit remained static while the cash paid remained incremental. To quote a famous saying, “my family can’t live in Good Intentions, Marge”
  20. Of course that championship brings a lot of satisfaction especially for the long wait we have had...However, the pure joy that Allen provides when he is on the field is absolutely priceless something that we will cherish for our lifetime. Go Bills !!!
