I agree with most of this, except the last part about the fall out. IMO, if the young guys pan out, then Ed and Dawson are gone and McGovern and Edwards get their extensions.

No argument, but Mayfield has been a nice extension from Brady. The Bucs haven’t missed a beat since the transition, amd that with eating $33 mil in dead cap from when Brady retired. A lot worse than our Bills with the exception of the Diggs exit, yet at least in that situation we received a high draft pic for Diggs. No such event occurred with the Bucs. Wait until the end of this year. The Falcons, Panthers, nor the Panthers have any shot at taking the crown from the Bucs. For the others, I never stated it was Baker that did the five years, just the Bucs never went south after Brady left the Bucs in the lurch.

From what I can tell, Beane and his team have a plan for what every position it worth and they try to stick to that. Safety is an example, and a position they view like RB. Even with 2 All-Pro Safeties, they never got more than $10M/yr. Even with all the squawking they and their wives did in social media, and the short term deals that they renegotiated. Same with MLB. Not a premium position. Bernard gets $10M/yr.

More so it was a guy named Brady.... Mayhem has only been with the Bucs for the past two years. He's talented yes, but it's still Brady 3, Mayfield 2.

Actually my bet is Oliver is gone next year unless he takes a big pay cut. An extension for Cook could be structured that the cap hit for this year is very little and the big $$ kicks in next year when Oliver and Samuel are gone and maybe even Knox. If some of the rookies and 2nd year folks look OK, could see some big changes next season. Free agents like McGovern, Edwards could be gone, or at least one of them. Same with D line, many young 1st contracts available.

Spent all my formative years in Rochester. As I always say, it's a good place to be "from." During the 60s and 70s, your father and your friend's fathers worked at Kodak and the area thrived in the post-war boom...when I left in 1985, the Big Yellow Box employed 55,000 Flower City residents...now it's down to a trickle of that but Rochester has seemed to bounce back relatively well from the glory days of manufacturing. I keep in tune to some of the community pages on social, and as others have said, look to the eastern suburbs for a better, and safer, quality of life.

I don't think I said that, but...the second option can be just as helpful to your offense. Cook's explosiveness is a big asset and why I agree that he's worth a little more than Kyren Williams is. Williams isn't the usage comp, Aaron Jones is. Jones was always the more explosive back in GB but he was always in a timeshare. Players like Barkley, McCaffrey, Henry and Taylor aren't in timeshares

If you arent close, might as well get something for him... a team trading for him his a friendly comparable deal to go off of, meaning somebody might be stoked to pay him $13m but not $15m, and theyll part with higher pics as a result. We all know that OL is a huge driving force! Bills have gotten a good chance to see what Ray-Day has done behind this OL... maybe they feel really good about it. Hes a better pass blocker (which is how this team determines 3rd D snap %), and has better hands, while not being as good of a route runner (at least for now). This is the absolute most I would give Cook. Extra 3 years, but basically just 2 year extension with an out for the 3rd. Glad this happened to show him what his value really is.
