  1. Past hour
  2. I disagree. People just chalked his rookie year up to bad coaching. I think the combination of his performance in the Rams Super Bowl and then the Rams trading him for Matt Stafford who they immediately won the Super Bowl with turned him into an average QB at best is burned in people's minds. They accredit his success to being in a QB friendly Ben Johnson offense. I was thinking Alex Smith 2.0 but Matt Ryan is pry the better comparison.
  3. Punt God didn’t play 1 season.
  4. You never know what goes on behind the scenes. Goodell could've promised him no Holiday games if he leads the charge to get this eyesore banned because horrible TV means less eyes in the long run. If you want to go the non cynical route, McDermott saw what happened in the NFC Championship and the Redskins keep trying to jump the count at the one yard line. It looked like an eye sore and you can see the potential for injury there with them trying to leap over lineman before the ball is even snapped. They could've easily went helmet to helmet with Hurts. The NFL has always been a reactive league so he's basically worried that if they don't ban it here will be a catastrophic injury on the play down the road. That's what it seemed like to me based on how he's answered the questions at the last owners meaning. Even though we benefit from the tush push.
  5. Sherman Cocroft. 😁 Imagine being so bad that he was replaced by Bruce freaking Mathison, another winner. It amazes me to this day that Frank Reich only threw one pass his rookie year in 1985 with those two in front of him. Then again, I can’t remember if Reich was injured or not.

  7. I’m all ears…the floor is yours…
  8. And all the original Beatles gear. He was quite the collector.
  9. Depends what you mean by same class. If you mean they are not elite Quarterbacks, yes, we agree they are the same class. As for what that means in January.... Purdy has been to a Superbowl. Matt Ryan should have won one but for Kyle Shanahan's stupidity. Joe Flacco won one. The ghost of Peyton Manning won one when he literally couldn't throw. You need everything to go right to win with a guy like Goff. That is for sure. Whereas a Mahomes, or in theory an Allen or Jackson can make some magic happen even when some things have gone wrong. My main contention is good Quarterbacks are hard to find. Elite ones even harder. If you are lucky enough to find one as good as Jared Goff you should try and put pieces around him and hope for a few bounces your way.
  10. He is finished. I don't care where he signs. He doesn't move the needle.
  11. Aww. No Mack Hollins for this.
  12. The Chiefs wrecked the Bills attempts at it in the afccg so I don't care either way.
  13. I think they are honestly pretty similar. I haven't focussed as much on Downs since he came into the league. I think he is a more natural route runner though. Ha you missed the thread here the other night then.
  14. You don't? What else is the internet for?
  15. i still remember the cold Bills Colts game in Buffalo when he opened his windows to his suit after the game and then he and his handlers handed out $100 bills to all the fans near him. Fun way to be rich lol.
  16. It'll be fun. I don't buy that somehow training camp filming will somehow affect the end result of the pursuit of a championship.
  17. I really don't like anything gimmicky and it feels gimmicky. I have the same feeling about the new dynamic kickoff and even when they changed the extra point attempt from 20 to 33 yards. I think the mistake the NFL made was to try and ban the tush push after the Eagles won the Super Bowl. Maybe table it until next year. Even if it's an ugly play leading to bad TV, it still felt like you were punishing the Eagles for doing something so good that the rest of the league felt the need to banish it. Last off-season would've been the ideal time when they were awful down the stretch and the Bucs fleeced them in the WC game.
  18. Just finished watching Oilers/Stars.....DVR'd it so I could watch the Basketball...... two collapses today....Oilers up 3-1 to start the third, and end up losing 6-3.....not as brutal as the Knicks collapse, but a surprising ending for Edmonton..... this series should be a good one.
  19. Nah, you're allowed to worry about it. Sensible people worry about everything on the team outside of QB1. It's the "the sky is falling" panic because we don't have a #1 that doesn't make sense. I'm not sure that 13 WRs implies an awareness of deficiency. But if it does, it's probably a deficiency at #4 and #5 and #6. Nobody thinks the last 6 or 7 of those WRs are going to become #1s.
  20. May have been over-evaluated. May not. We just don't know yet. Overhyped? I don't see it. He really was terrific in college. Some guys start fast. Others don't. All of them are in different situations, and "situation" does not refer just to QB talent. It's way way more complicated than that. Aiyuk didn't do as well as Harrison his first year. Pretty good player, though. Yup. This.
  21. Opioids addiction strikes all levels of society
  22. Now Rodgers can sign with the Steelers. This was the deal he is waiting on, no?
  23. They’ll recover and it will go 7 games
  24. Also, credit to the Pacers for regrouping for the OT period after thinking they won it in regulation.......Reggie Miller choke sign and all. Halliburton being voted most overrated player looking about as smart as the NFL players voting Josh Allen most overrated player......maybe its time to retire these "overrated" polls, don't you think??
  25. That's a good point. I guess I am envisioning the average viewer (and most numerous group) to be casual football fans who are more interested in the human-interest angles as opposed to the true football stuff.
  26. Rest in paradise... I read that he did alot in the league for mental health and was an advocate for it as well on a personal level. I didn't find to what extent but he was a pretty big component of it at the owners meetings.
