Seems like this was the definition of a he said-she said, which is always tough. One thing in favor of the accuser, was she went to the cops right away and this was when Hairston was a nobody (so no money to be had from an accusation). From Hairston’s side, it seems like there is no evidence, so it’s crappy for him if he didn’t do anything wrong. Just a tough situation all around.

There’s a flip side to the flip side; you probably didn’t get shot! There’s always a bright side. My wife and son have tinted windows, and they are not up to anything nefarious….at least during the week. Usually. That's double true when they have a JC that seems more worried about being "cool" and liked by his team then he is trying to get them serious about playing football. Jalen Ramsey going from Miami back to a football program like Pittsburgh is going to be a real shock to his system.

I doubt they saw TJ Watt as a good fit for their scheme when he was coming out. It’s a big reason why teams pass on certain guysIn hindsight that was a bad choice, but hindsight is what allows us to know that Watt would have a HOF level career while White would have his career derailed from injuries. As a Bills fan I’m not mad at the choice they made. They drafted an all pro corner who got injured instead of a pass rusher who may not have fit the scheme… Now if I was a Packers fan… I’d be livid, especially since Watt went to UW, similar scheme to Pittsburgh and they traded the pick right before to Cleveland and drafted Kevin King.

I think @Bill from NYC nailed it. Though not a full acquittal, but acquitted on the serious charges that carried mandatory minimums and convicted on the lesser charge. the prosection recommending 51-60 months. I'm guessing the judge gives him less than that. He may walk with time served or a lighter sentence than the prosecutor is recommending further reduced by good behavior, prison labor etc. In Florida you typically only serve 85% less work and other things prisoners can do to reduce time The legal system is a fascinating machine when you really examine it.

He shouldn't be, although nothing guaranteed. In the case of Deshawn Watson and Rashee Rice, Goodell and the NFL have taken the position that they will not take action based on a civil case or before a criminal case completes to the point of charges/no charges. The "wild card" is that the NFL does its own investigation and will act on the basis of their findings, which is how Von Miller wound up with a 6 game suspension in the absence of criminal charges or a civil case. Edit: people mentioning the Ghost of Matt Araiza have reminded me that actually I'm wrong - the NFL can not discipline Hairston for something that happened before he was drafted.

I was kind of making fun of people who think that she waited for this particular moment to strike. The logic just doesn't play out that way.

The Bills goals are to play 3 games in 2026 in the Ralph. They could fall short of their goals and still play 3. Best case scenario the Bills want is 3 games in the Ralph next year. Make any more sense?
