Davis had that amazing game in 13 seconds and instead of embracing big play Gabe he became some times he’ll catch it Gabe and was a mediocre option for us but if he signs for cheap he could beat out a few of those guys most likely.

I think it’s the speed and the fact that Moore has played for bad teams with bad QBs. Palmer was playing with Justin Herbert. Moore can do something the Bills have been missing, which is consistently getting to the third level. His ability to do that will open up the field. Which means everyone gets to eat more. This offense could be really dangerous.

Cook is a tough prospect for armchair GMs, because he's clearly a tier below the truly elite guys, which last year was Barkley & Henry, but he's also good enough that he's very hard to replace. Contrast that with Singletary, who was (and is) a good NFL RB, but ultimately doesn't give you much more than a guy off the street. A lot of those runs where Cook got into the secondary untouched weren't just due to the O-line. It was also Cook using his vision to pick the right hole, then using his elite acceleration to burst through before the defense could get there. We've seen a ton of outside runs the last couple years where Cook just turned on the jets and was able to turn the corner on the edge defender. They didn't all go for long runs, but every one of those was a significant swing for the Bills. Turning a potential -1 to 1 yard play into a 7 yard play makes a big difference, especially when it keeps going our way over and over. In summary, I would love to have Cook back beyond this year. I'm also weary of paying money to any RB, and extra weary of paying Cook elite money when he's been a step shy of elite. I'm hoping that he balls out this year, and either we re-sign him longterm, or we get some real compensation for him in like a tag-and-trade scenario. (By which I mean something better than a 3rd-round comp pick in 2027.)

It's not about that chart it's about getting what we want from them. They have to buy more X from us and do other things that we are not privy to. They need to beef up military, they are way behind on what they should be spending. They have to do whatever we tell them and apparently they bent the knee already

Problem is the Bills in order to accommodate signing DK would have not only had to have given up a 2nd plus a late pick at minimum would also likely not have been able to sign many if any significant defensive free agents. I get that the Bills wouldn't have signed Palmer but he's only accounting for about 27.5% of what DK is making, probably wouldn't have been able to manage the Bosa or Hoecht signings as an example.

Nobody is going to offer him more than what Jacksonville is on the hook for. He will sign for the vet minimum and continue to collect the remainder of his pay from Jacksonville. He has complete control over where he wants to go. He can choose to chase a title as a role player or try to find a spot on a team that needs him to be a WR2/3 in hopes that he can get enough receptions and stats to get another deal down the road.

He will play for the vet minimum this year. His Jags contract has offset language. That means every dollar over the minimum that someone else wants to pay a dollar comes off the Jags deal. There is no incentive, at all, to play for more than the minimum. Gabe makes no more money.

Been talked about to death in the Gabe thread. Many fans (like myself) don't mind kicking the tires on a vet minimum in camp, but he's not likely to be a difference maker as he wasn't capable of being a WR2 when he was here. Some fans just don't think he has anything and isn't even worth a 90 man roster spot. Personally given that I don't think a 90 man roster spot is that valuable why not kick the tires?

Yes, they did the smart cap thing and smart way to run a franchise. But I would have sacrificed one D slot this season and a next season pick to bring in DK. The level he could elevate the offense, would have made a huge difference. He would have been Allens Kelcie. And made the O near un-stopable. Not saying they can't get it down with what we got. I have a feeling Moore is going to have a good year. And Keon will continue to improve.
