  1. Past hour
  2. Enjoy the show but please keep this thread clear of any Bills commentary so that folks can just enjoy MNF without having to hear about how awful we looked yesterday. Thanks!
  3. Should have took Worthy and Feanklin. He picks the one some people had going in the 5th round with known separation problems on a team desperately needing speed. Just fire him already and get it over with
  4. Actually I am surprised that they drafted someone who isn't an over achiever. Team Captain etc in college. More their style. This was a risk for need (WR ) that McBeanes seems to have failed at. And now everybody knows. What they do with him should be interesting. Cookie Gilchrist would plain beat his ass
  5. McClappy isn’t about to risk even a paper cut to his ego. I didn’t always think that, but it’s crystal clear now. Andy had the guts to bring in Spags. Meanwhile, our Clapper-in-Chief — complete with the Oprah glasses — would never hire anyone who might actually challenge him.
  6. I think it's fair to say he has lost a half step. The arm strength is still all there, the escapability however looks noticeably diminished. We're seeing what the offense looks like when Allen can't pull a rabbit out of a hat every time he needs to. Those unicorn plays have made it easy to ignore a lot of personnel flaws and unfortunately tricked the GM into thinking that the offense was set. We need to bake in some more normal blitz reads. Allen in the past has been his own solution shrugging off free rushers and escaping for a big play, so now that we can't count on that we have to find more traditional answers. Unfortunately it is hard to find those answers when you have zero WRs that can quickly separate. Can't be waiting 4 seconds for someone to uncover against a cover 0 blitz, like he did on the play that ended in an INT. Tyrell Shavers isn't exactly the ideal player you want to be relying on there but that's what this season has come to.
  7. I dont think we can afford to do this anymore. Its at minimum 1 year too late. We need to seriously retool this roster and just absorb the down year. Bad $$ needs to go, we need the higher draft slot. Rolling back the same/similar staff is too risky. You'll have these guys fighting for their job, with the belief that under change, a WildCard or Divisional will buy them another year. They'll throw everything at it, to get to our ceiling of Divisional round appearance. We need to retool, absorb the down year, shed bad money, ship out all the walking injury factories/petite players and get the talent boost from picking a bit higher. If you try a mini rebuild you risk running out of time with subpar talent around Josh. Its ugly, it hurts, I haaaaate it. CAN NOT RISK HALF-ASS THIS. Certainly doesnt mean going 2-15. If we do it right, between finishing this season out under a D.O.A. coach staff, and a new staff next year, eating bad dead money... we can pop back up and have a new & better window to make certain we get one with Josh while he's here. My belief of multiple rings is gone now. Tear it down, fix the foundation CORRECTLY, we have some nice pieces for the next run, but we can't bubble gum tape this team again. Trade the older, and the higher cap guys that have value like Dion Dawkins. Maybe Oliver. If Kincaid is FUBAR and finishes out the year well, unload him... too sleight, someone will want to take on that risk. We can not continue to gamble and hope we win back what we've lost.
  8. I’m not lying. I’m going to put it this way. I’m in no way confused about what I’m seeing. You can tell me I’m wrong but it’s ridiculous. All of the years I’m speaking of -we never stop the run. You can look at misleading stats. The truth is, every physical team blows us off the ball and has whatever they want on the ground. We are allowing way too many big runs and guys are either stopped for a loss or going 6 or 7 yards before they are touched. We are terrible tacklers, teams just gash us whever they feel. The truth is our offense is so great that most teams can’t stick to the run. Most of the time we are scoring enough to where teams are forced to come off of it. In tight games where teams can stay physical, we are always giving up backbreaking runs and drives. - we can’t get off the field on third down. It doesn’t matter distance. If a QB is patient, we won’t get to them and a guy will be open somewhere. How many times have we felt good about making two stops only to turn around and be let down? We constantly give up long drives that flip fields and or lead to points. It’s like clockwork in the playoffs. There is no way anyone can watch this defense and feel good about third down. - we NEVER make a big stop. Every single time we are in a tight one and need to get the ball back, the other team scores. It’s constant. I can think of so few times in this guys entire coaching career where I thought momentum was changing and if we get a quick 3 and out and we actual do it. It’s so disheartening and it’s so plain as day predictable. There’s no way to play complementary football because we can’t ever get the other team to punt. - we never force 3 and outs. How many times have we punted a team deep, or kicked off to start a game only to watch the field get completely flipped? How often have we felt a tide turning or had a chance to go up multiple scores only to watch the other team go on a long drive that ultimately puts us either behind or back on our own 10. There’s never a time that we just get a team to punt. Make a normal quick stop and get the ball back for our offense. none of this is in my head, it’s all happening right in-front of our eyes for years. The only thing we ever did well was force turnovers. That’s bull####. That’s luck. It’s not sustainable and you can’t rely on it. That’s not about playing good defense it’s just a bailout. Some people don’t want to see what’s infront of their own eyes. If you don’t think our own offense is the only reason our defensive stats aren’t even more damning…idk what to tell you. Im not just saying this to say it.
  9. The Bills are not bi-polar. They are mediocre team with a one-dimensional offense, and undersized defense that (surprise) can't stay healthy. They had a couple fortunate turnovers in the first month, which allowed them to get some wins they didn't really deserve. Their best game of the season was against the Chiefs, and was an aberration to what we've seen the other 8 games of the year. The only people expecting them to finish significantly above .500 are basing their feelings on the last few years, and hoping this entire season has just been a very lengthy slump. It's much more likely they go on another losing streak and fall out of playoff contention. Even Josh Allen and other longtime vets on the roster look mentally checked-out on the sidelines. This thing isn't just going to suddenly turn around. Despite all the metrics and advanced stats, the eye test is still the most accurate way to judge a team. There were people screaming that something was wrong with the passing game back in mid-September, and they were pretty much ignored because the numbers still looked good on paper.
  10. Because the goal of the team is to win And this team if they just dropped Josh back 45 times a game Josh would be on IR We need a healthy balance attack to win which is always the goal Regardless of the team assembled.. the goal once the season starts is to win the game The best way for this team to win is to hand it off to James Cook and then let Josh be Josh situationally.. hopefully this does not continue past this year But that is the best route to winning right now
  11. He'll run those clearing routes Keon Coleman can't be bothered with.
  12. to me, there is no material difference between shaheed and hardman. They need a guy to stretch the field. Both guys can do it.
  13. Wait a minute his name is mec-ole hard-man. wow
  14. The Beane wgr WR thing is 10x worse and more embarrassing than the Kevyn Adams palm tree thing.
  15. Striving and accomplishing are different things. Its just not in his makeup and every gm and coach with a football acumen would have known that.
  16. I think folks (seemingly including Beane) thinking McConkey was only a slot WR was a mistake, but he definitely is not an X which is what we were trying to address. In retrospect though, McConkey would be a significant upgrade over Shakir in the slot and while that isn't what we were looking for, it would be nice to have even if Shakir is a decent player himself.
  17. Josh was interviewed pre draft, id have to search for it. He specifically mentioned some potential Rd 1 WRs that stood out to him --- and that he is a "draft junkie", (Josh himself). Keon' name was thrown out there by Josh when rattling off names. Thats why he is linked + his text to Keon after he was picked, saying he was his man. It doesn't matter at this point. Beane isnt giving Allen the full say on a 1st round pick, Beane and his scouts must've really liked him (Allen's feedback part of overall decision). Beane has missed on his last 4 substantial FA/draft picks--- Kincaid (too fragile), Keon, Samuel, and Palmer. Thats after hitting on Smoke, Beas, and trade for Diggs -- earlier in Joshs career. Its quite simple ,-- Beanes decision making is going downhill, is that linked to some high level co workers now gone Joe Schoen, Dan Morgan, etc)?
  18. It was never inferred that his “ prospects were better than ever.” It was hyperbole. You know that. We see it a lot here. You just got called on it. That was never said or inferred. I’m not weighing in if I think he “should” get a HC job. My statement was that he “will” get one. The statement was definitive because he will be a HC regardless of the job I think he’s doing. I don’t have a say. My opinion is that he hasn’t been very good this year (at all). He will be a HC next year. Both of those are true. I’m citing oddsmakers who build big buildings by winning. If they didn’t have information or believe he was a candidate at that level they’d try to attract action. By placing him as the betting favorite for LSU and the 2nd choice for the Titans, they’re trying to steer bettors away from him limiting their exposure. Believe it or not, they hear things and know things.
  19. He wouldn't have signed with the Bills if this were the case
  20. Someone posted on Twitter that this move will bump Gabe Davis up to the active roster, and honestly I agree. The offense is in pure desperation mode now. I'm not against Gabe moving to the active roster either, if he healthy what is there to lose at this point
