Unfortunately the last time KC lost in week one, at home against Detroit in 2023, they retained their Super Bowl crown defeating San Francisco in overtime - Super Bowl LVIII, the only Super Bowl I didn't watch by choice as an adult. Detroit managing to blow their best chance to get to the Super Bowl in the Campbell era to date. KC going and winning on the road twice after the Wild Card at Arrowhead. In the Andy Reid coached KC era they've only been soundly defeated in the postseason by the Buccaneers and the Eagles. Playing five Super Bowls in six years is amazing, painful and frustrating (for every non Chiefs fan). Implications for the Bills? Focus on the Ravens and do your absolute best to get to 1-0 in the final stadium opener at our current home. There is no shame in losing to Baltimore if it does not happen and we have to believe that we can climb the mountain this year. I don't think KC will panic and nobody will count them out yet there are chinks potentially appearing in the armour and there is a first time for everything. What I'd love is for an AFC team to comprehensively defeat them in the playoffs this year, ideally before the AFC Championship game. -
Whoever finally takes down the chiefs in the afc playoffs is beating mahomes and Chris jones in a 2vs1 basically lol. It’s been so odd seeing mahomes get all the credit for the chiefs success when jones/the defense has been bailing them out a lot the last few years. I feel like Baltimore is a really solid team defense and the bills have been that at times too but neither team has a guy like Chris jones helping their qb get the ball back

I remember that - Bills won 31-0. And it was mostly downhill from there for the Bills - who finished 6-10. Last game of the year was at New England where the Pats won by the same 31-0 score. Yes, the first game is often the most meaningless. Especially now with the short preseason where many of the starters get so little playing time. -
The Worthy Trade Keeps Looking Worse and Worse

Regarding what you said above and I'm no scientist but I think the math would back me up The force hitting NFL players does remain the same regardless of the players size however I would think the potential impact damage in the force being hit would be greater as you lower weight. -

That qualifies as bullying? Damn. I hope the OP isn’t as sensitive. -
Refs handed the Chiefs the game.

We've been talking a lot about him here. The Twitter verse has been talking about him, as well as wgr, and even vic carucci and some sirius guys said that there's some potential with him based on what they've heard His dad is a serious bodybuilder strongman or something like that so this kid is supposed to be really strong too

If the Bills practiced more in the cold weather, they could maximize the advantage somewhat more. Used to bwe the cold weather environment was a clear buffalo advantage. (except against other cold weather teams ) McD doesn't do much outside, spend the practice time inside installing the weeks plans. Thats ok, but really gotta do both.

The more games you have to play, the lower the likelihood you make the AFCCG. He didn’t say it was impossible. He just said reduced likelihood. And he is right. But either way, he did NOT say what you claimed. Nor did he deserve to get bullied for giving an opinion. -

If KC is in the playoffs and can win on the road…how are they less likely to not meet Buffalo in the AFCGG? Are you saying our Bills would lose before that potential matchup? I don’t think so. My point was it’s week 1. Nothing can be taken too seriously after the 1st week. We can lose Sunday to the Ravens and it’ll be fine. If KC heads into OP with a losing record in week 9 then what OP is suggesting here would have more validity. It’s jumping the gun a bit here. -

The "L" isn't that consequential. But I was more encouraged by how they looked - old & slow. Chris Jones didn't seem effective for large portions of the night. Their receiving corps isn't stellar to begin with, and now they might be without Rice & Worthy for awhile. Chargers receivers were getting open pretty easily. That's the most I have seen Mahomes have to carry that team. Yesterday looked more like the average Bills/Allen game than the well-oiled machine we have come to expect out of KC. -
Ravens fans seem to be a confident bunch outside of playing the Chiefs. It’s like looking in the mirror.

Green is a backup center. Maybe Van Pran needs another week to get up to speed and make a full recovery. Is he? I haven’t heard much, which I suppose is great when you don’t hear much about a CB. It’s Strong or Ingram, and it does seem like Strong is getting the start. Bills struck CB 6th round CB Gold with Benford. Let’s hope we struck Gold in the 6th round with Dorian

I actually like the kid, I think he has great potential.. -
I feel like defensively these two teams kinda have each others number lol it’s been a pretty interesting rivalry that doesn’t get enough attention for some reason (because Chiefs dominate all conversations I guess 😂) that regular season game last year was kind of an aberration but typically it seems some of McDs best game plans are against Baltimore so much of the focus is on qbs/mvp talk yada yada that I feel like the interesting stuff going on on the defensive side gets overlooked

7-1 at home sans Chiefs 0-0 on road sans year 2 season Road playoff wins: Burrow 3-1 Mahomes 2-0 Lamar 1-2 Allen 0-4 Get the #1 Seed and have the easiest path to the Super Bowl.

Tyler Dunne's piece on Caleb Williams is DAMNING
hondo in seattle replied to estro613's topic in The Stadium Wall
I may have told this story before... When I was in Desert Storm, I was told to give unlimited access to a NYT reporter who wanted to interview some soldiers. One of my soldiers was quoted as saying, “Tell President Bush to get out of his fishing boat in Kennebunkport and come down here.” That critical remark was noticed by the entire chain of command from the Secretary of Defense on down and caused me a lot of trouble. But my soldier never said it. The reporter asked if anyone was willing to have that quote attributed to him. A young PFC who had said nothing resembling the quote agreed to the attribution. Some of the soldiers present speculated that the reporter had already written the article on the plane to Saudi and just needed some naive young soldiers to agree to some prewritten quotes. That's how I feel about Dunne's hit piece on McD. Dunne had an opinion and sought out people who would support his proposition. He didn't try very hard to find opposing viewpoints, just enough to claim he made an effort to be balanced. The main thesis of the article was determined before any interviews were conducted and no contrary view or datapoints could have changed Dunne's poisoned mind. I liked Dunne before that article and haven't read anything he's written since. Not because he doesn't like McD. Lots of folks here don't like McD and I'm fine with that. But because, for me, Dunne lost all credibility as a journalist with that article. -
Parsons traded to Green Bay, given $188 million contract
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
If this didn’t involve Jerry jones I think the nfl community would’ve had a more honest discussion about the trade. I really do understand it for both teams but the cowboys continue to get dunked on for it haha they were more than a Micah parsons away and while I think Jerry exaggerated a bit there’s def truth to the whole ‘paying a DE not great against the run almost 50 million is a little nuts’ line of thinking. we completely took their pass rush out of the game by just running the ball straight down their throats two years ago and I don’t think you’re gonna win anything with that issue ongoing there’s a good chance Jerry blows those two picks haha but that’s kinda a separate issue 😂
