Game week thread - Buccaneers at Bills
RunTheBall replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Too old, too stale, too predictable, too injured. This is the last gasp of this iteration of our Bills. Make the Super Bowl or clean house (which won’t happen, but it should). Since Terry will not get rid of McBeane, I’d like to see experienced coordinators on both offense and defense replace Brady/Babich. Enough with the first time coordinators. Hurray, Sanders is back. The guy was well outplayed by Walker even before the knee injury. My expectations are low. We’ve got our Bernard excuse now - he’s been playing on a bum ankle. I actually believe that one because I don’t believe he just forgot how to play football. I hope we see Gabe and bench Coleman. I think that’s the only answer we have at X that may help open up the middle of the field and help Josh get rid of the yips he has. Josh doesn’t need to be Super Josh but he needs to start playing like a Top 3 QB again and making better decisions. My expectations went from another AFC East division win with potential one seed to probably making a Wild Card. Even if we do, I don’t see this team having the internal fortitude to turn it around and make a deep playoff run. I hope I’m wrong. -
God forbid players improve across the board. Let's change the rules, not my football.

Is it the receivers or Brady
HereComesTheReignAgain replied to BuffBills51's topic in The Stadium Wall
Brady's passing game scheme seems to be "run to this spot and turn around". He is so incredibly limited in his passing game that he cannot come up with plays that allow the most physically gifted QB of all time to be successful. And I am so tired of hearing about how horrible the WRs are. There is speed and skill with Samuel, Moore, Shakir, and Palmer. They have been solid WRs with other teams. Brady values blocking skill more than pass catching because he doesn't have a clue how to use speed and elusiveness in passing routes. He creates no confusion and allows the DBs to just sit back and cover the easily predictable routes. It is criminal that the Bills didn't even interview outside OCs before handing the keys to Brady. -

I always like the Bills in the McD/Allen era after they come off a bad loss and the media and fans are pouncing on them. They play better with a chip on their shoulders. Bills 27 Bucs 20 -

Bills 28 Bucs 19 Good Bills show up and after a 14-10 half time lead pull away in the 3rd quarter with Cook breaking a 40 yard TD run (TBs defense allows big plays even though they are relatively stout against the run check the stats). Bucs 2pt conversion fails with 3 mins left to make it a 9 pt lead that Buffalo is able to run out. They win against HOU bringing some good vibes back only to lose to PIT ruining the holiday weekend because that is how its been going. -

I loved what Atlanta did out of it, using both backs and getting Bijan in space. We could easily borrow some of that and get both cook and Davis on the field. I would rather have two RBs out there who can both run and catch, than some of our receivers. -
Between Josh Allen’s strange interview with Marty Smith and Dion Dawkins insistence that it’s never Super Bowl or Bust .. the pillars of this team don’t come across as having what it takes mentally to compete with up and coming hungry teams and a maniacally obsessed MJ attitude leader in Mahomes. Love JA, and he’s the most physically gifted QB in the league, but if he’s not going to be that obsessively driven dawg, it’s tough because there doesn’t seem to be anyone in this locker room who brings that vibe.

Many Bills fans feel eternally grateful for McD and Beane for making the Bills relevant again (I do as well). But a large part of the fan base feel compelled to say nothing and be polite when the same mistakes or poor decisions are made. A large group of people on here regard any criticism of both a blasphemy, which is just odd to me. There is no point being Polyanna about this. If Beane repeatedly misses on draft choices, signs players that are irrelevant to contracts where they are overpaid and cannot get impact trades done (Since Diggs), then he isnt the man to get us to a SB. McD is a defensive coach who has a bad to mediocre defense that cannot close the deal or stop teams in the playoffs. He is a terrible in game manager with the bad timeouts, challenges and strategy (in the season and playoffs). He seemingly wont allow Beane to hire outside the organization because he will lose control resulting in mediocrity in the offense, which he is definitely out of his element in managing. He also seems extremely poor in preparing his teams in some games or holding them accountable for poor performances (in game and after). I am glad he has brought a good culture here but I struggle to see what his upside is faced with all these provable negatives. I have always said that if they win a SB while he is the coach, it will be despite him and not because of him.

Who do we want, who do we need as our next HC and, or GM?
Kirby Jackson replied to jaybeezee's topic in The Stadium Wall
If the Bills were missing Josh Allen for a period of time, injuries would be a valid excuse. That would even be true for Cook to a lesser extent. I think that Allen, Cook, Shakir and the entire OL have combined to miss one game (Spencer Brown). Kincaid has missed a game as well. We aren’t in the situation that Baltimore/Cincinnati were/are in. -
I’m not questioning the signing, simply the reaction. We pick up a dude off the couch and half the fan base think he’s somehow going to turn a bottom tier defense elite. That was my point not the signing itself

I'm in the both camp but I also believe McD wants his Offense to slow score so I'll put him in there as well. Our QB after an MVP season seems different, often looking bored and with little enthusiasm, To be expected when you turn the most exciting QB in the league into a game manager. I expect Brady to be the seasons scapegoat and be let go after bowing out in the first round of the playoffs even though the Defense gives up 30. In the back of my mind I'm wondering who gets IR'd after this game, seems like every game we're losing somebody. Maybe mentioning that will make it stop.

Bucs 30 Bills 10 Anyone remember the Colts game a few years ago? Similar weather. If Bucky plays, we are going to get run over all afternoon. Start the car at halftime. -
Thanks HD. And McD's takeaway after this game is to point at the OC and players who, admittedly bear some responsibility. Yet, the HC refuses to admit his off-season plan with the GM was to ignore the offense save for replacing Cooper with Palmer has failed. Not much different than 2024's plan for that side of the ball. Using Josh this way is offensive malpractice. He's also not blameless, but the problems are further upstream. We're beyond the point where the underlying root cause of this organization is the guy who has the most pull.

Shakir isn’t even being used as a receiver. He's basically an extended handoff running back in this offense.

What a stupid f*****g question... If you are serious about getting answers on an issue important to you, why would you NOT contact them? Given all the nonsense that is typed here on repeat for years and years, it is pure laziness to not contact your reps on what matters to you as a voter... Unless of course you believe that being a US citizen is a spectator sport... You might be surprised at how receptive and communicative your reps and their staff can be... Just as it is telling when they blatantly avoid responding to particular inquiries after you develop a rapport with them... Citizens can make FOIA requests too...
