  1. Past hour
  2. Yea he was elite but for a shorter period. He was considered something of a 1st round bust in Chicago but he had a solid 5 year period there with the Panthers where he was right at that elite level and was a bona fide #1 weapon on that team. As you say he isn't in the Gronk, Kelce, Gonzalez tier but he had a solid period of elite play in his career.
  3. Diggs was unique in that his personality became too big and we could get valuable trade assets in return (a likely high 2nd rounder next year). We're not getting that for Knox. Knox may be overpaid but he's bound to have a better season than last year. I trust Brady more than Dorsey to try and make him and Kincaid both part of the passing offense especially without the offense running through Diggs anymore.
  4. You know the answer to it. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure it out.
  5. I think Olsen was elite. Top 10 all time TDs, receptions and yards. Not in the category of Gronk, Kecle and Gonzalez, but those are your top 3 all time in no particular order.
  6. Today
  7. Anyone hear about or see the abuse being dealt out on Caitlin Clark? It’s not a good look for the WNBA, which has been low key on the matter. Clark’s given the league a tremendous boost, the targeting of her is blatant. Why?
  8. I only have one- it's when somebody turns their signal on as I'm passing or about to pass them. Wait until I've ***** passed- now I have no idea if you're not paying attention and are about to jut into my lane, and I'm committed... I can anticipate any stupid ***** going on around me, but for the love of God, please teach your children to lay off the turn signal until the other cars are clear and it's their turn to change lanes.
  9. I never understood why men never taught their women how to crank the engine. Obviously the man had to be at the controls... it just seems so dangerous for the ladies to be in the passenger seat of the vehicle without a sure man at the helm. Miss those old Holiday Inn signs- the world's just gotten so sterile.
  10. I’m vote to put him back on the wall. Treat him like an artist.
  11. bangs... as in the hair I've always rolled the n at the back of my mouth, but if I can stop doing that I'd be pleased as punch... whatever that means. )
  12. I watched that first series by Denver and thought all these years and we still stop the run
  13. I appreciate your well-considered opinions. I shouldn't have actually asked you for names and numbers because I'm still firm in my belief that it's uncommon for teams to break-in two rookie WRs in the same year and even more uncommon for those rookies to make an impact... so I'm still laboring under the belief that it's the exception and not the rule... but I certainly concede your point was proven in the case of the Packers and I thank you for the excellent documentation. As far as championship roster-building, I don't believe that there's one strategy. The best teams have solid rosters with few weaknesses. Super Bowls have been won in many different ways. It's hard to argue against the opinion that the reason the Bills haven't been able to beat KC is due to the failings of their defense. It's too bad the Bills suffered so many significant defensive injuries at the end of last season. And there's certainly a 2024 scenario whereby the Bills score plenty of points (as they did in 13 Seconds) and lose again due to the losses of Poyer and Hyde. It'll be very interesting to see how things play out and who ends up being right.
  14. Time for the Kansas City Chiefs to start kicking the tires on McManus!
  15. That's a solid post. I agree that my analysis from earlier was incomplete. For example, Emmitt Smith played behind one of the two best OLs in NFL history. (The other being the OL from the 1970s Raiders.) That's going to make his stats look better than they otherwise would have. My earlier analysis was not intended to take OL play into account. You also made a good point about the importance of a passing game, to take pressure off the running game. Other than Herman Moore (WR), Detroit didn't have much in the way of a passing game. But it sounds like the Bills of 1973 had an even worse passing game, with less than 1000 passing yards! I'd like to thank you for the time you took to do your analysis, and I learned something from it. If you decide to analyze more, there are a couple suggestions I might make. 1) I'm at least as interested in a RB's yards per carry, as I am in his total yardage. For example, let's say you're comparing OJ Simpson to another RB of his era, such as Franco Harris. The Steelers used a RB by committee approach. In order for Rocky Bleier to get his share of carries, Harris had to get fewer carries than Simpson. If Harris is rushing for fewer yards than Simpson, is that because he's getting fewer carries? Or is it because he's doing less well than Simpson with the carries he's being given? Simpson averaged 4.7 yards per carry, compared to 4.1 for Harris. I'd argue OJ Simpson was a better RB than Franco Harris. Another point I'd like to raise is this. Some seasons, there might be two or more great RBs playing at the same time. Other seasons, there might be just one great RB. Using your method, the best RB in the league benefits when the second-best RB is as bad as possible. That's going to penalize the best RB in the league, if there happens to be another great RB active at the same time. To avoid this problem, maybe compare the best RB to the 5th or 10th best RB. I'd think that would give you a steadier, more reasonable comparison.
  16. Go Oilers! Canada needs a cup! We all have reasons for disliking other teams but, in general, I've never disliked the Rangers. They are New York and so am I. They've never been a threat to the Sabres unlike the Jets in football . I don't really like the Giants in football but I don't hate them either. I'm from New York but I grew up in Virginia so I'd rather root for other New York teams than anybody else.
  17. Biden's Delusions About Hamas Continue In case you missed it yesterday, Joe Biden announced a new plan to end the war in Gaza. It's a complicated proposal that would include an immediate ceasefire and the release of some hostages. It would supposedly lead to a permanent ceasefire. Biden also claimed that Israel had "accepted" the terms. Some of you may be wondering how that could happen when Israel hasn't finished eliminating all of Hamas' fighters yet. That's an excellent point. But according to the President, there's no need to do that because Hamas has been "devastated" and they are now "incapable of carrying out another October 7th attack." That will probably come as news to Israel. https://hotair.com/jazz-shaw/2024/06/01/bidens-delusions-about-hamas-continue-n3789451
  18. Maybe too many witnesses indicated, too much subtle suggestion that this isn't a new or unexpected story to emerge around the accused, etc. But also, you're not wrong to maintain some degree of reservation until all is known. None of us commenting here actually KNOWS anything at all about this story.
  19. Why Joe Biden's Hur Interview Recording Was Hidden JAZZ SHAW You may recall that President Joe Biden previously sat down for an interview with Special Counsel Robert Hur regarding the investigation into the many classified documents that Biden improperly removed from the White House over the years. A transcript of that interview was grudgingly produced later, informing the public that charges would not be filed against Biden because he was supposedly unlikely to be convicted, being an “elderly man with a poor memory.” Something didn't seem right and the House sought the original audio recording of the interview, but the White House refused to allow it to be made public, with Biden making the stunning assertion of executive privilege based on "privacy" concerns to keep it hidden. Now, thanks to some digging by Judicial Watch, we may (possibly) know why that was done. According to a release from the Justice Department on Friday night, the transcript was altered with various words removed and significant "clean-up" work having been done to it. (You can read the original transcript here.) Transcripts of presidential records are not supposed to be altered. That is made clear in the Presidential Records Act. Of course, this is far from the first time we've seen the Biden administration playing fast and loose with those rules. We have regularly seen this White House "cleaning up" the transcripts of various speeches and press interviews that Joe Biden has done. Sometimes they simply change the words to reflect what Biden had "intended" to say. In other cases, his meandering utterances are simply recorded as "inaudible." Shockingly, Biden's team went even further, claiming that an audio recording could be "altered" using Artificial Intelligence. That's one of the dumbest claims we've heard coming out of this White House since virtually every appearance that he or any other official makes is potentially subject to the same type of hoax. But this situation is far more serious than any campaign speech or press conference. That interview was part of an official record related to an ongoing criminal investigation. It should have been transcribed verbatim and transmitted to the National Archive. This interview is of particular interest since it wound up being the basis for the DoJ failing to pursue charges against Biden while they chose to bring charges against former President Donald Trump for precisely the same alleged misdeeds. (Just as they said "no reasonable prosecutor" would bring charges against Hillary Clinton.) https://hotair.com/jazz-shaw/2024/06/02/why-joe-bidens-hur-interview-transcript-was-hidden-n3789485
  20. Not a huge Rush fan and terrible and names of songs so I had to use the Google. Moving Pictures is my favorite. Witch Hunt is one of my favorite songs, ever, Red Barchetta as well, if you can pronounce it properly. Ha, Italians that know the language will get it. Working Man rings a bell. Really like it. I'd like to take more a of dive into their earlier stuff and probably will some day. I remember hearing the song subdivisions as a kid and thought it was all right but I started listening to different stuff and going in a different direction and they lost me after that.
  21. The Broncos and Raiders games were actually in back-to-back weeks.
