There were like 3 defenders swarming to the ball to my eye on that play. it was doomed from the start. I know everyone hates the play but I think play over play, it has value. It’s also basically a running play.

What about the 30 yard pass to Boutte? The nose of the football hit the ground before he got his hand under it. No replay assist on that play and McDermott did not challenge. Even the CBS ref analyst Gene Steratore said it shouldn't have been a catch. NE did a hurry up to get off next play.
