It looks like defensive end and cornerback could be the trouble spots on Sunday. At linebacker Thompson is hobbled, but both Milano and Bernard should be good to go. If Taron Johnson can go, then Lewis can help back up the safeties, (Poyer and Bishop) along with Jordan Hancock. Phidarian Mathis will probably need to help out again at DT, but there are enough guys to maintain a rotation. With Hoecht gone for the season and Epenesa in concussion protocol, the Bills are still going to want to manage Bosa's reps. That means Solomon is going to have to play a major role, and the Bills may have to either activate Landon Jackson or elevate Andre Jones/Kingsley Jonathon from the PS. If Benford can't go at CB, then the Bills will be starting White and Hairston on the outside with Ingram getting backup reps. I wouldn't be surprised if they elevate Dane Jackson or possibly Te'Cory Couch. Fortunately, Tyreek Hill is out for the time being.

Maybe you're right. But... To oversimplify a bit, the Raiders offense in the 1970s looked like this: run up the middle or throw bombs. This created a conundrum for defenses because the Raiders attacked the entire field. A good offense attacks & stretches the field both vertically and horizontally, forcing the defense to try to defend every inch. That's too much for most defenses to do successfully. And we have a strong-armed QB that can threaten teams deep. It's a shame not to use that effectively.

Bills don't "need" a WR, they need to use the ones they have better
Rockinon replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Bills currently are #1 in rushing and something like #9 in passing. The TEs are a big part of the passing attack. It seems to be a work in progress getting the WRs more involved. Those WR screens are going to get someone killed though. They really do need to work on getting some route trees that work downfield more. -

Dorian Williams in the Hoecht/Lorax role?
BillytheKid replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
It is definitely important. Since McDermott took over play calling the last 10 quarters of football played by the Bills they have given up 3 points in the 2nd half. 9 points to Carolina and 21 points to What everyone thought was the best offense in the league. 8 of those came because KC converted a 4th and 17 after Hoecht went out. So they are giving up an average of 13.3 ppg with McDermott calling the defense which would rank first in the NFL. Mcdermott needs to call the defense for sure and if Williams can play that position then by all means do it. Only big difference is he isn’t going to have the bull rush that Hoecht had because of the weight difference. -

My bipolar has always been an open book. I didn't ask for it. It was the hand that was dealt to me. The brain is an amazing thing. Totally agree. Once the Bills win the Superbowl, would that mean that Elon gives each Bills fan $10K each? He can afford it. -

I would like it...Williams is violent and sudden, something we lack mostly. Reminds me a lot of Bradham in that way. -
The American Media Should Not Be Trusted
The Frankish Reich replied to SCBills's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
And why should we care what ABC, CBS, and NBC are doing? The last good study shows only 32% of Americans "often" get news from TV; far more get it from digital devices. MAGA: legacy media is irrelevant! MAGA too: we can't win, legacy media brainwashes them!! -
Dorian Williams in the Hoecht/Lorax role?
That's No Moon replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
It requires the other linebackers to keep their arms and legs attached which seems to be problematic. Apart from that? Go for it. Playing downhill is Dorian's strength. The less reading and dropping he has to do the better. Let him attack. -

Wow, great story and very brave of you to speak out on this stuff, many people don't. The brain is a strange, strange thing. No one really knows how it truly works and when you actually think about what's going on in them with memories and creativity and dreams and whatnot it can actually freak you out. No wonder there are so many scientists who believe this is all an AI simulation. I just wish the b*stard programming it could let the Bills win the Super Bowl -

Huh? Can you please stop making things up? Saying what you believe is cool, but not when it is completely contradictory to facts...then it's just silliness. -

I think the Bills in some ways are modeling their offense after NE from the Brady years. They ran a lot of 12 personnel. The TEs are a big part of this offense too. It's not a bad passing offense when Kincaid is healthy. Knox is pretty good at catching balls too. These guys are often matched up with a LB too, which is a huge mismatch. I just think the WRs seem to be afterthoughts and it's a shame. Maybe, it's something they are building towards. -

If you are in public, revealing your identity is to be expected. As the Supreme Court has always put it, you have no "reasonable expectation of privacy" in people recognizing your face, whether or not it is aided by photo recognition technology. Our law enforcement officers have a name badge for a reason. Credible threats against law enforcement officers should be investigated and prosecuted. Harassment (like assembling outside their homes) should be illegal. But they have an obligation to provide their name and agency, and they should not be masked other than for weather or health reasons. Period.

This is just a thought. In Joe Marino's All-22 this week he pointed out that Hoecht and Williams were being used in a similar manner. I understand that Williams is about 30 lbs lighter than Hoecht's reported weight (couldn't find anything definitive) and about 15 lbs lighter than when Lorenzo Alexander was used in a similar role, but as far as strength and athleticism go, it seems like Dorian Williams could be used similarly as Bernard/Milano/(hopefully)Shaq Thompson man the true LB positions. Tangentially, I'm mainly asking because along with the importance of Hoecht, McDermott's been pretty brilliant defensively since he took over play calling. If anyone listens to The Athletic Football show, the show today was about the 10 people/entities that are changing the NFL this season (very Bills-centric... the very first thing they talk about is Jackson Hawes and they spend a lot of time talking about it) and at one point they Robert Mayes poses the question to his guest Nate Tice asking if we'll look back in 2-3 years at the Bills vs. Chiefs game this week and see that as the game where defenses started changing. (It was all about the dime looks last weekend). So... it sure seems like the "chaos creator" role Hoecht and Alexander years ago can play is pretty darn useful to McDermott. I guess I'm just looking at the players on our roster and wondering if that player for the rest of this season with Hoecht out isn't Dorian Williams? That may be a super weird thought, so I guess I'd direct it to the more knowledgeable among you like @GunnerBill and @Buffalo716 along with anyone else who can chime in.

Yes but watching them play compared to other teams there is a difference. While the Bills do score, they still struggle in the 2nd half most of the games this season. They do well on both scripted drives of each half and seem to stall quite often after that. -

Such a shame to lose him after that start. Him and Oliver on the field at the same time would be tought to defend. What could have been. All is not lost though, get the injured DTs back, keep Bosa healthy and this line can still cause problems. -

Also Cam Lewis graded out very well against KC playing in both nickel and dime roles flipping between NCB & safety.

That honestly may be the happiest I've ever seen him look.... The Kay Adams effect I guess.
