  1. Past hour
  2. Colts made a big mistake there. Danny Dimes is going to come back down to Earth and they just gave away their draft capital. I remember the Giants thought he was going to be a franchise QB too. The Bills were actually closer last season. One drive away as opposed to one game away.
  3. It's hilarious to me that people argue that a year where we lost in the divisional round was closer to a SB than last year, where we narrowly lost a the AFCCG in which the refs were actively screwing us over on spots repeatedly.
  4. FYI, you could watch TNF on twitch if you don’t have prime. At least you could last year.
  5. We have been one or two plays from SB last year.
  6. Today
  7. This, well said. If something should happen to Cook (god forbid)the Bills are basically cooked because he has been as valuable to the offense as Josh has been. Back in the 90's the Bills had a decent backup to Thurman Thomas in a guy also named Davis, Kenneth Davis and while there was a drop off with no Thurman on the field it wouldn't look nearly as bad should Cook go out. I almost wonder if the reason as to why Cook isn't utilized more in the passing game is to save him for the run game. Although that doesn't explain why Ray Davis and Ty Johnson aren't used more often in the pass game. This game against the 2-7 Miami Dolphins might be the perfect time to rest Cook somewhat and try and get Gore, Davis and Johnson more involved in the run game. I keep hearing that RBs are a dime a dozen and that simply doesn't apply to some players Like James Cook, Jon Taylor for the Colts, Saquon Barkley for the Eagles, King Henry for the Ravens.
  8. That's right. I met three of my ex-wives that way.
  9. I saw him run down the field to get in on a tackle. Was impressed to see a big man run someone down in the flat from behind. After going in the 2nd Round, he tore his meniscus in his left knee in the season opener and missed his entire Rookie year. Then he had a bad calf injury in Training Camp and and was once again put on IR until November for his 2nd season. His third year he stayed healthy and played in 12 games but was waived by Washington as a "Draft Bust". The Jets claimed him, but cut him after Training Camp as they had a pretty stacked DT core. This is essentially his shot to show the injuries are a thing of the past and prove he isn't a bust. It's a very similar idea to us giving Jordan Phillips a shot in 2018 after the Dolphins declared him a 2nd Round bust. Except Mathis had to earn it from the Practice Squad. Said it in another thread, but I find it telling that they signed him while he still had one more activation left over a guy like Zion Logue who has been with the team longer and has no more activations. Hopefully the story goes the same way it did for Phillips. It would be a wild story if he went from a 2nd Rounder in 2022 to his career on the line on a Practice Squad in 2025, but through hard work and 3 injuries at DT - got his 2nd chance and reclaimed what his career was supposed to be.
  10. A lot of hot takes in this thread. I seem to recall Burrow going through our D like a hot knife through butter. Guy is damn good and we'd all be fearing the Bengals if he was healthy. Having said that, can you imagine Josh with Chase and Higgins? He could throw for 5500 yards.
  11. Kim Kardashian has 73 MILLION Twitter followers. So obviously she is right about those fake moon landings.
  12. Kinda crazy what Indy did. Such a high draft price (plus a young day two WR) for the highest paid CB in NFL history who also has issues with penalties and run support effort/physicality. He's so gifted as a press man boundary corner, but can he rediscover all-pro play without all the clutching and grabbing he got away with earlier in his career? It's a fine line for these aggressive, long-limbed cover corners. One recalls dominant NE and KC and SEA (and others) DBs over the years who, if the broadcast or later film reviews allowed, could be seen holding and tugging and mugging so dang often that refs would get desensitized and ignore it for untargeted routes and also just more broadly**. Or not even call it at all in such glaring examples as the Saints "losing" to the Rams in the 2018 NFCCG. Will the refs give him some wiggle room on a defense known to be very physical overall? Would highlight and reward one of the most aggressive trading seasons in memory. **Not unlike the way KC's OTs, especially Taylor, have lined up too far off the LOS and/or false started and/or held on nearly every single passing play for years but only get flagged once or twice per game at most.
  13. Youngkin was in Iowa while his Lt. Gov Winsome was in freefall.
  14. I agree and I wasn't even that upset that he didn't pick up anyone at the deadline (more surprised) but hearing the "I tried" speel just doesn't fly with me (not that it matters because I can't do a thing about it lol).
  15. No, they don't have a right to coordinate a sick-out. The government will pay them, and pay them quite handsomely. Actually ... yes. The costs should be on the airlines, and of course those costs will be passed onto the passengers. It's a user fee. We have them for all kinds of things.
  16. Everywhere I hear the sound of marching, charging feet, boy 'Cause summer's here and the time is right for fighting in the street, boy
  17. And our very own Josh Alien is on pace to win his 2nd NFL League MVP. LOL
  18. And Second Chance gored his owner right in the nuts.
  19. Nick Wright has us at number one on his weekly tier rankings.
  20. The Bills have a lot to do to improve in the second half, and beating the Chiefs is just one game, but if you asked me before the season if I'd take the Bills at 6-2 and the Chiefs at 5-4 with the tie going to the Bills, I would've said hell yeah.
  21. Did Mathis flash at all for anyone else against KC? Saw some serious motor, if not major impact. Was surprised to learn of his impressive college pedigree. No glaring reason why he can't possibly grow into a meaningful depth role if he stays healthy.
  22. There's recent evidence that Cook is still very..."uneven" in pass pro. Whether it's a lag in pre-snap recognition or limitations in blocking aptitude, it's still risky to rely on him 1:1 against a blitzer. He has shown some willingness, to be fair. Despite this lingering weakness in his game, I believe one key to further unlocking the Brady offense is more aggressively attacking defenses through the air with Cook lined up in the backfield. Gotta take advantage of heavy boxes (hehe) and run blitzes and known tendencies. Whether Cook stays in to block, or chips and leaks out, or motions out and runs a route...you gotta continue to diversify and evolve. Keep em guessing. That Bills offense became incredibly repetitive/predictable towards the back half of their run. As a dialed-in teenager at the Bills vs Lions Thanksgiving game ('94), I showed an uncle how predictable the Bills had become by correctly predicting their first 4 consecutive offensive plays (then punt), down to the nuanced results of each. And Thurman logged consistently heavy YoY NFL usage with only one fully intact ACL. While a less rigorous offseason training regimen (than we see these days) might have allowed for more recovery, it also didn't maintain or even improve upon speed and explosion as the years rolled on.
  23. The two are inextricably linked, though? Josh taking up an extra ~18% more of the cap than he did on his rookie deal impacts which other pieces can be added to the team. When we make an "all-in" move like the Von Miller signing, it really hurts us when an injury derails that move in part because 20% of our cap is already dedicated to Josh. If we went all-in on a true elite receiver, for example, that's a 40+ mil/year cap hit. An injury to that player would make fielding an elite team really difficult, especially if it cost us draft capital to acquire them. It's a balancing act.
  24. It's not publicly traded. So that valuation is an estimation, at best.
  25. Joe Is still a good qb and more durable than Glass Joe. Glass Joe is very good, but staying healthy is a major part of NFL football. They do not need Glass Joe, all they need is Joe. Regardless, no defense, no winning.
  26. I keep hearing that and it's nothing but cope to try and explain away the loss. To try and convince people the Chiefs were somehow holding back also implies they somehow didn't know this game was important to them, especially because a loss is now is 4 in the loss column. Just a laughable claim. We've been playing the Chiefs twice a year for what seems like forever now. Are people really trying to tell us the Chiefs are holding back looks we haven't seen? Sorry, I'm not going to get concerned because they didn't show us that flea flicker they've got up their sleeve on offense and we've seen just about everything there is to see from Spags. It's just a matter of when they choose to use certain looks.
