Thought this was pretty funny in the athletic this morning from giants beat writer Dan Duggan. Daboll and Schoen are both already fired but Mara has no idea what to do next. As it turns out Daboll and Schoen had a better team when they arrived and Daniel Jones and the offense played well enough to get them to the wild card. Once Daboll got settled in and Schoen made changes to the roster they have gotten progressively worse after adding all kinds of high drafted talent and expensive Free agents and trades. Barring a miracle they are both fired and they know it. The Giants have scored 15 points in their two games against real NFL defenses this season, with a 21-6 season-opening loss to the Commanders sandwiched around the Cowboys aberration. Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo employed the most basic strategy imaginable to stifle the Giants on Sunday. The Chiefs played with two deep safeties on 78.9 percent of the Giants’ snaps, which is the highest rate by any team this season, according to Next Gen Stats. The significant difference from a week ago, when the Cowboys deployed a similar approach, is that the Chiefs’ defensive backs didn’t move like they had cinder blocks attached to their feet.

Honestly, the switch the Winston would be an improvement. But I said it in the GDT last night, the Giants issues run much deeper than Russ. That was a poorly coached and poorly prepared team last night. There is way more talent in NJG than they showed. Shoen has not been good overall, but he built a lights out defense. I have no issues bringing him back and having him help us bring in a DL.

And while Ravens are still our biggest competitor come playoff time IMHO, we basically have a 2 game lead on them assuming win tonight being up one and having the tie breaker. And if they lose it’s going to be a 3 game lead essentially. To be 3 games in and already have at least 2 game lead against what was widely expected to be our strongest competitors for the 1 seed (Baltimore and KC) with such an easy remaining schedule is pretty great. I honestly think we could have the 1 seed locked up by end of week 15 and the road to the SB is going to have to go through Buffalo.

i think dabol and co are gone by week 8, i suspect dart is way to raw to be starting and he'll get burn and it will show. that team is a dumpster fire.

3-0 Assured 6th straight division title. Don't see much more than that. Not trying to be a downer but nothing else thus far secures #1 seed, playoff success or SB appearance and victory. It's a great start though.

If Dart progresses at all over the course of the season, they can both say to ownership "Look, we're on the right track. When we had Josh Allen, his first year had some bumps, but he kept consistently getting better. I see the same trajectory for this kid." Probably buys them another year.

Its too late for Daboll. Even if he moves to Dart he's getting fired. Schoen has done some nice things at GM, the defense is fantastic, that said they needed to draft a QB earlier.
