Agree! Like the player but I would have spent that money on Cook. If anything McDermott has shown he can get decent play from most guys he puts out there at MLB. Even Specter and Klein were serviceable. Never liked Bernard's lack of size but he's made more plays in two years of starting than Edmunds has his entire career. Hope he stays healthy and gets decent DT play in front of him this year.

With all due respect, the franchise has been to four SuperBowls and lost all of them. This group hasn't even made it to a SuperBowl. If you don't understand the psyche of the Bills fan base then you are either too young or are willing to settle. This team with Allen has been great and it has been fun to watch. Nobody would trade this run for the drought. However almost everyone on this board knows the defense is a fraud. The defense has padded their stats against garbage QBs for years and fails every time in the playoffs. I truly hope this year is different or Allen starts to get listed with guys like Fouts who were HOF talents to never play in the SuperBowl. Its not just me. Multiple national media people have already stated McDermott has wasted Allen's best years. Beane has added lots of new players for the defense. Let's hope that these players make a difference in January not September.

I think he’s been a fine enough nfl tight end and may get to the next level. It’s hardly vilifying him to say he belongs as a starter in the league but he hasn’t separated him from the pack in the second tier of tight ends and that hurt us last year. Hopefully it doesn’t repeat.
