I’m not taking it personally. The issue from my standpoint is transparency. If I broke a rule I’d like to know what it was. Simple as that. I’m moving on.

Game week thread - Buccaneers at Bills
Low Positive replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think that is very true. By the time they figured out that they were in a dogfight they were down 13-0. They couldn't adjust their gameplan on the fly until halftime and by then it was too late. They seemed shocked by the energy the Fins brought to the game. Also, the coaches seemed to be working on things or putting things on film rather than playing a regular season game. That fake tush push felt like a play they would try in a meaningless game. They also seemed to be trying to force the ball to Coleman. It felt like one team was playing for pride and their coach's job while the other was playing a preseason game. If they miss the playoffs because of this game, it serves them right for taking a divisional opponent lightly. You can't save it for the playoffs if you don't make the playoffs. -
Who do we want, who do we need as our next HC and, or GM?

Why is this even a thread? Both are here, both aren't going anywhere. I hope you didn't hurt your fingers typing that up because it could have been easily avoided pain -
I've taken a few lumps here. Been to the Principal's office a few times. Been given a vacation. After my initial butt hurtedness I realized if I read the MNF, SNF, and TNF post rules a bit better, or had better self-control I'd likely be better off. In short, it was my fault each time. I highly doubt they deleted your thread without having a reason to do so. They stick to their rules but I've never known for it to be personal.

You mean like how the D played against the Chiefs a couple weeks ago? 🙄 -
LOL - using a freeze frame now to frame a narrative. So its seems the disconnect is that you don't actually understand what you are looking at then. If you actually understood ball placement...this with this route, Keon's angle and where the defenders are, you would know that this ball is going to easily be caught at the 35. Anywhere else would be poor ball placement by Allen and a QB mistake.

Yeah I don't know why we are calling this and other similar throws "turndowns." Allen is reading the leverage of defenders. There's a LB sitting directly over top with his hips leaning forward which means he is in position to drive on it, not to mention the other 2 sitting defenders you highlighted, so the best case scenario is a 3 yard gain, more likely 2/2.5. For reference as measured by success rate you would want to pick up 6 yards on 2nd and 10. I absolutely hate that this sort of play constitutes the vast majority of our passing offense right now. Defenses are forming a wall of coverage where they know we like to run our little crossers and nobody other than Kincaid has shown an aptitude for getting behind that wall consistently. Maybe Palmer can do it too, we'll see. Right now it's way way too easy for our opponents. They'll give us these looks all day until we force them out of it.

Serious question: If we clean house in the FO but then hire Terrance Grey as our new GM do we get the comp pick since our minority staff member got a GM job? Think I just found a way to game the system! -
I personally don’t like the run-on threads that span full seasons or multiple seasons. It’s too hard to find the recent posts without clicking through 50-100 pages of old posts. For me it would be easier in new threads were started more often, or merged less. Just my worthless 2 cents.

I think the loss to Miami was maybe 10-20% injury related, and 80-90% mental state. As Steve Tasker said today on OBL, it is incredibly difficult to maintain a laser focus week after week in an NFL season, mostly due to the fact that everybody is dealing to some extent with pain. The focus needs to be maintained throughout the week of practice, not just on game day. I think the Bills let down their guard, and when it became evident that Miami was going to be tougher than expected, the Bills could not recover from their lack of focus last week. If they can't get up this week given their embarrassment last Sunday, they don't deserve to make the playoffs.

This is going to be a very fun thread.

For Coach, how about John Fassel the ST coordinator for Dallas ; previously LA. He is a great coach and a good leader. His father Jim was a coach with giants in the 90’s. Cliff Klingsberry of Washington and Klint Kubiak of Seattle are other coach possibilities. Ed Dodd from Indy or Alec Holobi from Philly. Both are currently Assistant GM’s. The best model is hiring a gm, then having that person hire the coach. Pegula would probably screw that up. -
I think you nailed it. Aging roster + smaller players = higher injury risk. It’s obviously not 100% guaranteed but it’s a major factor, IMO. That’s two more than Kevin Kolb or Shawn Merriman ever got.

If the mods didn't clean up the board, the list of threads would look something like this: McDermott sucks and he should be fired McDermott should be fired and he sucks McDermott, fired he should be and sucks he does Keon Coleman is lazy and should be benched Keon should be benched and he's lazy Coleman? He's lazy and should be cut. And he's slow too. Brian Daboll for president!

These are standard NFL throws, I don't know why you care calling the "miraculous". Any quality starter can and should hit these throws every week, and needs to do so consistently. Allen never has had good touch downfield. He either cannons it on a rope where he can over shoot or just miss...or when he tries to put touch he under throws it so its defended/intercepted, or when its caught the receiver can't advance the ball. It is literally his most well known weakness in his game. Allens best down field throw is when he has a guy wide open or a clear shot to him, usually on a scramble drill where he can just rip a liner right to him or he can lob the ball over and even though it takes a while to get there the receiver can still make the catch. He is not a guy who shows touch. This whole season, his back shoulder attempts to Keon have mostly been poor throws, these passes here were poor throws. The one that should go to the inside, Keon does stumble, but still beats his defender and any ball inside Keon not only has him beat, but even if the ball is not thrown well, as long as its inside Keon has the position to box out and maybe even draw the PI. Throwing it outside was either a critical mistake, or he tried to go inside and just threw a poor pass. The other one all he has to do is put some air on the ball and get it out in front. Instead josh shows the lack of touch and awareness and throws a liner instead. NOW - That doesn't excuse Keon for the mistakes he ALSO made on these routes. The one that should have went inside he stumbled, but still managed to win his route. But he has to get cleaner releases to consistently get open in the NFL, he has to be better with his feet. On the one Josh threw the liner, Keon also let up some on that route for some reason, he needs to run that route crisp to consistently win on those. In both cases he still got open, but I still want to see both those routes run better and cleaner from Keon too, so he doesn't just get a pass here even though he got open both times.

Were We Running Into a Stacked Box?
Buffalo716 replied to st pete gogolak's topic in The Stadium Wall
Because most teams come out seven or six players in the box for bills still Dolphins might have flipped it up and the players just didn't execute They were running three defensive tackles...Don't see a lot So it seems more like an execution thing.. dolphins gave them a wrinkle that they didn't properly game plan for , struggled adjusting in game Bills have only faced a stacked box on less than like 5% of carries... So the sample size isn't big... The dolphins looks probably disrupted their blocking assignments not to mention cook was slightly dinged up in the Chiefs game History says you can't keep eight in the box against Josh Allen even with these wide receivers.. and all the dolphins looks are on tape.. so they'll know how to block a 3DT 8 man look better now But history also says a running back like cook will break a big one with eight in the box sooner than later which just didn't happen against dolphins His yards per carry will go down.. but his ability to break the long one goes up in that situation.. he's a solid five six yards A carry against a standard or lightbox but it's harder to break off that 50 yarder It's always a chess match... There is a counter to the dolphins strategy James Cook is facing an average heavier box per touch than Jonathan Taylor according to advanced metrics this season
