Quite the opposite. The cost of a WR is significantly higher than the cost of a WR or RB. When you draft guys, they’re slotted for 4 years (with a 5th year option for 1st rounders). Cost control is important. I’ll give a real example. The Bills will have the option to add a 5th year for Dalton Kincaid that will probably make him one of the top paid TEs in football. The Seahawks can add a 5th year for JSN that will be nowhere near the top of the WR market. JSN signed a 4 year deal worth $14.4M. He went to the Pro Bowl this year. The top of the WR market is now $40M+. 4 years of a Pro Bowl WR at $3.6M a year (plus an option year) is WAY more valuable than 4 years of a TE/RB at a similar cost. That’s the point that you’re not seeing as these get mixed together. You could draft a 1st round TE and sign the top WR in the NFL and it would be an AAV of $44M or something like that. You could sign the top TE in the NFL and draft a 1st round WR and it would be an AAV of $23M or something like that.

Von Miller didn't have a big reaction after his ACL tear. He was kneeling on the field and walking around on the sideline before he was carted off

The only one I recall walking off the field like nothing was Jordy Nelson, but he's a country boy like Josh. His offseason workouts consisted of him working on the family farm.

I became a Bills fan when the Bills drafted Simpson. I was a bit disappointed in his production early on, and then we learned that genius head coach, (sarcasm alert) John Rauch, had decided the best way to use Simpson was as a decoy. When he got fired and the Bills hired Lou Saban (for a second stint as Bills head coach) Simpson's production exploded.

I don't expect Walker to do much this season because DT is a hard position to learn at the NFL level, but I think he could have bright future.

That's pretty shocking to me. I've seen probably 7-10 ACL tears and probably 2-5 Achilles tears at tournaments. Every one I remember was brutal.

If long term, I'd be surprised if Rasul Douglas isn't brought back. He wouldn't be my choice as I've been pretty vocal that I think he's toast. But this regime will always go for familiarity in McDermott's scheme over quality of player. I hope White has a resurgence with us and can stay healthy. But relying on that is a dangerous proposition imo. So I think someone else stronger than a 6th Round Rookie, Dane Jackson, and Ja'Marcus Ingram would need to be brought in.
