the Bills were big favourites to win with Vegas still… going against the best D on short rest even… the Bills D was crap in the first half but they gave them opportunity to win in the second half … The O couldn’t get it done for a number of reasons … it’s looking like they have been over rated by most this season..

Self-preservation would be to dirt it as someone suggested upthread. McD knows that Allen could easily have suffered a severe injury the other night and then the season is truly over.

Some of that is just the crappy Thursday product. the Bills are taking every opponent’s best shot this season because the league is smelling blood and because there is extra parity this year. Them having to go on the road against an elite defense on a short week after a string of physical games was always going to be rough. And they don’t have cerebral coordinators, and tend to play it safe anyway - they tried to lean into their best plays on both sides of the ball and to rely on near-perfect execution given the limited prep time. It didn’t work, but it’s not Who They Are. But they now have (yet again) left themselves with near zero margin for further error.

That's a good point I didn't consider. I'm old enough to remember Bruce Smith letting up a few times on Joe Montana when he played for KC in the playoffs. Joe was taking a beating that game.

I think road teams are already at a disadvantage on Thurs night, esp if you're boarding a plane to fly across the country with only 3 days rest. But you're right it wasn't the cause of the defeat. It just made the task of facing the top D on the road that much harder. I wasn't overly surprised by the egg given the context. It all rests on our O. We know our D is crap and the offense will generally have to score over 25 to win, against anyone.

This. Our roster is mid to bottom barrel with the exception of Josh, Cook, Bishop, Kincaid. We have a good oline but frankly I think its overrated. We have 2 stars on the team in total. Josh and Cook.

I'm with you. Samuel is so bad that I'd actually consider playing a slightly more bad Moore over him so he doesn't get hurt and saddle us with his contract next year. Otherwise agree. Frankly, I'd probably pay Edwards before McGovern at this point because he's probably the cheapest of the three IOL we have to worry about over the next two years. I'd consider Bosa at a reasonable price point, but otherwise every one of those defensive FAs is gone. Tough call on Van Demark. Is he worth a second round tender? Not sure. Otherwise, agree about IOL. I might consider Edwards for the sake of continuity, but otherwise next year will be time to shine for two of them. (And maybe three, if we flip the last year of Torrence for four years of someone else.)
