  1. Past hour
  2. I wouldnt say the board is frightened as much as acknowledging that the Bills will have their hands full especially with the defensive woes and lack of big play ability on O. The Patriots will be a good health check before we get into the real fights with the teams you mentioned. Of course we have the better chance to win but Vrabel can craft a plan to give us fits. I think this is good. We have been coasting through the AFCE lately and a little challenge will be a good thing.
  3. Since we've already made these our things, why drop them now? I despised table jumping at first because it made Bills fans look like drunken morons. But now I love the odd uniqueness of it. I hated Zubaz at first, too, and now I own a pair because it's the Billsy thing to do. I don't want the Bills to devolve into every other fanbase. IMHO, all the things that set us apart, including btw the immense charity giving, should be sustained and embraced.
  4. Ok I love these points... so I think our number 1 problem is we are last in the league at stopping the run... 2 is we are poor at getting to the QB.... and for that I also blame Beane and McD... . Missed assignments and tackles, poor pursuit Babich needs to be involve in the blame here... 100% I like your call on the nickle dime.... this is getting to part of the crux of my concern .... we have very small lbs who are blocked too easily and rarely shed them in pursuit, this is a McDermott staple, likely imo to beat KC... back off on the rush, be able to spy Mahomes and contain him... make them drive down the field and hope to hold them to a field goal... is this Babiches fault no... is the execution Babiches fault partially its partially on the personnel... From my perspective, I worry less about getting beat with the big play, more about using the speed of the LBs and guys like Oliver etc.. to shoot gaps and blow up plays... SO yes, better conceived blitzes and run blitzes... less ultimately bend dont break... reasoning, you have Josh, he is gonna score, you can afford to take more chances here... this means a new overall philosophy with respect to risk tolerance... I do not believe it is Babich to drive that change I think he is executing McD's philosophy... a solution is to get a defensive mind in here to reimagine what this defense looks like and to take advantage of the skill sets they have... Bottom line, the under performance of this defense to your point starts at Beane with the talent level, moves to McD with the over all philosophy, and ends at Babich in terms of the execution and lack of development of existing players... I say all this and it sound like I am saying everything is wrong... etc... I am not... I am looking SB and saying we are pretty much in the same defensive space that we have been in... that has not worked out well for us... we need to manage improvement .... how or what might that look like.
  5. I don't mean to single you out Alpha, but I'm seeing this said quite a bit - Knox becoming expendable. No, he should not be considered expendable. The new NFL season is extremely long, relatively speaking, 17 regular season games and then more playoff games. Above average depth, especially in high risk injury positions, should no longer be considered a luxury. Even the reduced wear and tear in game, the reduced snap counts can help contribute to a healthier, better, overall TE group. The Bills should not be looking to move on from Knox, but instead getting his salary in line with the market. And I believe Beane can and will do that.
  6. Merit for cabinet level and high ranking federal positions = sufficient years of serving the swamp. - The Left
  7. Most of them will be back after their bye week. Madubuike I believe is the only one who isn't returning
  8. "Ravens cant fly" would be too boring.
  9. If even 75% of the fans comply, it will make for an awesome spectacle on TV. Do it, people!!!
  10. I'm not worried about effort, I'm worried about results. It's not a lack of effort that's making them miss tackles You mean to tell me you aren't afraid of *looks at notes* Efton Chism III at wide receiver?!?! And Mack Hollins - Mack Hollins is amazing at.....blocking! If it's one thing I want my starting wide receiver to be good at, it's.....blocking
  11. Yes! This. And it seems like that for many things the offenses are doing, even the supposedly so so offenses or bad ones. Hard to imagine we just have a slew of not so bright players, or undedicated players, who just are not internalizing and applying the high level teachings of the coaches during the week and their high level game planning. Rather, it seems clear that the teachers here, the coaches, are really dropping the ball. And in so many aspects of the defense. What you point to in your post is why this defense reminds me so much of dorsey's train wreck of an offense, which became the 'easiest offense in the NFL to defend'. Just like that, because of many different examples of what you refer to here, they have become one of the easiest defenses to move the ball against. And are, so far in 2025, looking worse than last year. And not getting better as this season progresses. All kinds of clear signs. And yeah, they may be erroneous signals, but I I am doubting that. Too many flashing red lights to ignore and too consistent.
  12. One of the owners of Ellicottville Depot, the husband, passed away about a year ago, and his wife/co-owner shut it down about 6 months ago.
  13. Nothing will be soft for the Ravens with all the injuries including their starting QB.
  14. At 1-5, I dont think he'd be able to hold it together emotionally. And might start forcing plays and get turnover prone like when he plays vs the bills and kc
  15. There should be zero negotiation to give criminals who are illegal free benefits. I mean come on. Schumer, Obama, Clinton etc....have all said that giving benefits to illegals is wrong. But now Schumer has flipped lol.
  16. I want to know what deal Mike Tomlin has made with the football gods to have tihings end up this way. I thought for sure this was going to be the Steelers first loosing season in 21 years but the division is a mess and actually looks like they could take it.
  17. At this point the trans stuff in schools and in content clearly aimed at children has been well documented for years. Is it ubiquitous? No. Is it fairly widespread? Absolutely. It is just as inappropriate as if schools or streaming services were extolling the virtues of banging hoes and going to strip clubs aimed at seven year old boys. Do we ever hear anecdotal stories of this happening in schools or in cartoons for kids? I wonder why we don't? It's completely wrong no matter how widespread it is. As for parenting being the solution...sure if you catch it as you happen to be present when your young child is sitting in front of the TV and this type of content comes on while you're actually paying attention. Then they get an iPad with wifi available everywhere they go....then they get their first phone and a TikTok account..... Good luck.
  18. Give me a name you want to replace him with? Do we promote Al Holcomb?
  19. You're offended that I glossed over his stint in the Reserves and political activism? Ok then. I think if he wasn't a talk show flapping head he had 0% chance of ever appearing on Trump's radar. Its really the deciding factor on why he was selected. Nothing else on the resume even remotely qualifies him for the position. Talk show host and ring kisser were his winning attributes for the appointment. No, I really haven't seen the lowering of standards in any appreciable way. I've seen a few promotions where people grumbled that it was likely a diversity play. And maybe it was. But every company I've ever worked at, including multi-national companies with strong DEI movements, the ranks above manager are overwhelmingly dominated by white men. Many of which have been semi-competent in my view, benefitting immensely from their identities as they looked like their superiors and shared similar values and backgrounds. I've been in the room multiple times where my bosses felt comfortable enough to share views on certain races, cultures, and genders that would have likely gotten them in hot water if not fired. I know I have benefited from being a white guy who is fun to have a few beers with. If DEI is replacing all the white men with black lesbians, then its failing miserably in my experience. A few true "DEI hires" sprinkled in here and there, per the most salacious definition advanced in PPP, is more akin to tokenization than a movement with any teeth. Have you ever worked for a white guy who had no business occupying the position he found himself in? I know I have. Incompetence and non-merit based hiring pre-dates DEI by millennia. Are we upset about incompetence or who benefits from hiring incompetence? Seems like the latter to me. In response to the "DEI is just a pathway to hire incompetent minorities", I submit the following counter points: - Resume studies that demonstrate that people with "black" sounding names were significantly less likely to get called back than identical resumes with "white" sounding names. - Employment studies which suggest white applicants have more success at every level of education and experience or lack thereof. - Despite the fast track to the good life DEI has supposedly granted anyone who isn't a white man, minority applicants widely believe they need to be "Twice" as qualified or experienced as their peers for similar roles. And for executive positions data supports the idea of more qualified/experienced rather than less. https://www.npr.org/2024/04/11/1243713272/resume-bias-study-white-names-black-names https://cepr.net/publications/the-continuing-power-of-white-preferences-in-employment/ https://www.theatlantic.com/business/archive/2015/10/why-black-workers-really-do-need-to-be-twice-as-good/409276/ Many more studies on the topic exist for anyone who is actually interested. If anyone has a credible study on DEI practices and resulting in widespread hiring of less qualified applicants over white men, I'd love to see it. I'm not interested in any one off tweets, thanks. I had similar views on Affirmative Action and DEI as you and many on this board not all that long ago. I had major objections to hiring based on race or identity over merit and I still do. Years later I believe this remains more of a talking point based on a hypothetical outcome of bad DEI practices, and while compelling, I believe this talking point is unsupported by the studies I've read and my experience in corporate America. Maybe its more pronounced in the public sector? Based on the political rhetoric from 40 years of affirmative action and DEI you'd think Fortune 500 companies would look more like the NFL by now. Something isn't adding up.
  20. Historically, teams starting 1-3 have about a 14% chance of making the playoffs. A team starting 1-4 has about a 6% chance. Though we have to consider that seasons are a game longer now, and Baltimore is more talented than the typical 1-3 (or 1-4) team. The Ravens are a tough matchup for the Bills and I'd prefer not to see them come January.
  21. The gov't has been out of money for many years but they just continue to print more of it so what's the problem ? None of them know how to run the country or a business such as the United States of America on a for real budget ! If any of them lived in the real world like we have to they would all be in jail for writing checks they couldn't cash ...
  22. I remember Mike Foligno was asked why he didn't wear a visor when the NHL made it mandatory (aside from those grandfathered) and he said he tried it but didn't like it. He liked to feel the wind in his face when he was rushing up the ice.
  23. What gives me hope for the Bills the next couple of weeks is that they are both prime time games and the Bills seem to play their best under the bright lights. Josh will put the cape on if he has to. I'd be a lot more worried about the next two games if they were 1 pm Sunday kickoffs.
  24. This is just one of thousands to maybe millions out there. It's cool. Give them free benefits that US citizens will pay for.
