  2. Smokers Using Nicotine Pouches to Quit Smoking - So Now Illinois Is Taxing them By Ward Clark There's a standard rule of economics that states, "What you tax, you get less of. What you subsidize, you get more of." That statement is usually applied to matters of enterprise, welfare and so on. But it also applies to products. Case in point: There's a tobacco-based product that has been helping a lot of people quit smoking. It's called a tobacco pouch, and it's great for people transitioning from smoker to non-smoker. I think I'd argue that even using the pouches to get that little nicotine buzz without all of the tars and other crud that come with typically low-grade tobaccos used in cigarettes is still a step in the right direction. The FDA agrees: So this may be a valuable tool for people who are trying to quit smoking, and it may serve as a less-harmful alternative to smoking at the very least. Which may be why Illinois just decided to tax tobacco pouches. There is essentially no logic in this. None. But then, there's no logic in sin taxes in general, be they for tobacco, alcohol, or anything else. These are legal products; it is not the role of the government to protect people from the consequences of their bad decisions, nor is it the role of the government to prevent people from having those choices. And, of course, every such product on which any level of government levies such a tax invites a black market. You would think that if any state would understand this lesson of Prohibition, it would be Illinois, but that evidently isn't the case. https://redstate.com/wardclark/2025/09/23/smokers-using-nicotine-pouches-to-quit-smoking-so-now-illinois-is-taxing-them-n2194270
  3. I think this is a personnel issue. At Frazier's peek he has White, Hyde and Poyer in their primes plus a young Taron Johnson. Now we have Rapp, an aging an oft injured White, 2nd year player in Bishop, an aging Taron Jonson and Benford. We need better speed and outside of Benford, better coverage skills in the secondary.
  4. again and again and again... Each one more agonizing than the last...
  5. That’s the sad thing about some of these names.. In their prime they were power houses but in old age people have forgotten how good they truly were. Rodgers and Von Miller immediately come to mind..
  6. Mayes has less around him and performing better than Nix this year which a testament to him for sure.
  7. Oak-a-lee, Doke-a-lee, neighbor-eenie!!😁 The Monday Night factor and the letdown after a big win factor, coupled with Cleveland's D is making me shy away from Detroit this week.
  8. And when did a “shovel pass” become a “shuttle pass”?
  9. Marco Rubio Says U.S. Military Will Continue Bombing Narco-Terrorist Drug Vessels https://twitchy.com/warren-squire/2025/09/23/marco-rubio-confirmed-lethal-military-strikes-on-narco-terrorist-boats-will-continue-imminent-threat-n2419380
  10. New England guy to me. I really like mayes (neutrally). I think he will have to wait for Josh to retire to do much, but he is something.
  11. Diggs' career has spiraled since 2022, but back then I thought he'd play with Josh for his entire post-Vikes career and make it in.
  12. Ryan Routh found guilty on all charges in Trump assassination attempt trial Former President Trump was target of alleged plot at West Palm Beach golf club in 2024 By Breanne Deppisch , Jamie Joseph , Jurors on Tuesday delivered a guilty verdict for Ryan Routh on all charges after he attempted to assassinate then-presidential candidate Donald Trump at his West Palm Beach golf club last September. After the verdict was read, Routh reportedly appeared to try to stab himself in the neck with a pen before four U.S. Marshals restrained him. His daughter, Sara Routh, reportedly stood up and said: "Don’t do anything. I will get you out. What the f---, f---, he didn’t hurt anybody. This is not fair. This is all rigged – you guys are a--holes." The jury was still in the room at the time. Routh, 59, was charged on five federal criminal counts, including attempting to assassinate a major presidential candidate, assaulting a federal officer, and multiple firearms offenses. The charges carry a maximum sentence of life in prison. Jurors deliberated for several hours before returning to the court with a verdict. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/ryan-routh-found-guilty-all-charges-trump-assassination-attempt-trial
  13. Same as walking past the rando in the Bills cap at Home Depot... "Go Bills" "Go Bills" <slight nod> go about my business
  14. I noticed that too, it was really noticeable. I even mentioned it to my wife. It seemed like every play in the second half that didn't go their way, Lamar had some reaction or was making some kind of face about it. Was definitely off-putting.
  15. Obviously not. It's literature. Yes. And I'm Billy Burroughs.
  16. You forgot split end.
  17. I still prefer the Chiefs to lose to any other team in the league.
  18. Hate picking teams coming off a Monday night game, but went with Detroit.
  19. According to Google AI, Josh Allen started his first NFL game for the Buffalo Bills on September 16, 2018, in a Week 2 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. After appearing in the season opener due to Nathan Peterman's benching, the Bills' head coach, Sean McDermott, named Allen the permanent starter for the next game.
  20. Goff is like a great, but not flashy point guard in basketball. Guys like that win a lot of games by letting others be the featured stars.
  21. I certainly hope not. He’s a guy who is really good at playing football. He also seems to be a really good person, but that’s nothing to be star struck over. If he’s at a table at a restaurant, I would hope people would just leave him alone. I’d be disappointed there, of course. Being rich is the good part of being rich and famous. We’ve known some famous people, and going out in public becomes a problem.
  22. Interesting stuff. I was one of those fans, I would say, that you are describing. Having seen what seems like more man coverage over the last year or so not result in a better defense, I think I may have sold Frazier short. I always wanted the Bills to play more press and not be off the ball so much in coverage. I still kind of do, but overall, I don't know exactly what to think anymore. I thought that getting rid of Frazier would result in a better, more aggressive and effective defense. Seems I was wrong in that assumption. I still was underwhelmed with what I saw in the defense in the playoffs under Frazier for the most part, though. So, like I said, I am confused as ever about how to turn this defense around and what defense I want for the Bills.
