Ed Oliver hit on 3rd down last drive. Wow
GunnerBill replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agreed. I listened to Jeremy and Joe yesterday saying "what are the linebackers and DBs supposed to do? The front has to stop him" and thought you guys really have even less clue what you are watching than I thought. Our gap control was atrocious and the majority of it was linebackers and safeties not filling their gaps. Would some of the DTs other than Oliver getting off a block once in a while have helped too? Sure. But it was primarily loss of gap control on Henry's big runs. I think every drive the Ravens didn't score a touchdown on Ed Oliver had a critical play to get them off the field. -
Josh Allen, the most expensive hotdog in the league
Harold Jackson replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall
A hot dog at an Atlanta Falcons game typically costs $2, the lowest price in the NFL, due to the stadium's "fan-friendly" concession pricing model implemented by owner Arthur Blank. These affordable prices, which also include $2 sodas and $3 waffle fries, are part of a larger strategy to prioritize the fan experience over maximizing profits on food and beverages. -
Whoever left stadium early needs to….
QCity replied to Riverboat Ritchie's topic in The Stadium Wall
Thank You. There were people around us filing out with over 7 minutes left. I was completely stunned. You're going to leave the last home opener at the old stadium?? And don't give me this "I have to work in the morning" crap. You damn well weren't leaving if the score was tied. You lost hope, so just man up and admit it. I'm so glad Josh called them out. I don't ever want to hear this "greatest fan base" garbage again. The fans were a complete embarrassment - from throwing crap on the field at players, to actually physically interacting with players, and then leaving early like Patriot fans. If these are the clowns that get filtered out with the new stadium pricing then that's all for the better. -
How much better is the Ravens team on paper than the Bills?
Billzgobowlin replied to Lost's topic in The Stadium Wall
The interesting thing is Lamar didn't deserve the MVP when he got it, you could make the argument he should have got it last year but Allen is truly the most valuable player to his team especially last year. Lamar has the running ability but as far as passing I would be hard pressed to find a passer of Allen's ability. The last 7 minutes of that Ravens game was surgical. -

If it was Tom Brady, death penalty. -
When we first drafted him, I started going over his college tape to get a bead on him. When he arrived at Florida State from Michigan, his very first catch as a Seminole went for a touchdown. That’s a pretty big deal, and all his teammates ran into the end zone to celebrate with him. As he was celebrating, out of the corner of his eye, he saw the ref approaching the ball. Keon stopped what he was doing, and quickly reached down for the ball, and handed it to the ref. It was just a small courtesy, but I thought it spoke volumes to his character. It was utterly second nature for him, but at such a huge moment in his life. He’s a guy you love to root for.

So this "Bernie" is promoting violent street protests? Or why the fire? Is she also applauding anti-ice protests? Protesting is fine by the way. Fires are not.

That question was asked on page 1: It was then answered 4 times in 3 pages:

Eligible Receivers - 2pt Coleman Non-Catch
BigDingus replied to saundena's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's probably better it didn't count, as the Ravens played a bit differently at the end with that 40 - 38 lead. They were satisfied trying to kill clock, but if we were tied 40 - 40, they'd be trying to go down & score (likely while milking clock). It gave us a chance to get a victory instead of come up just short. -
Well, he didn't really do much through 3 quarters, but he certainly delivered by the game's end. I'm not a Keon hater by any means, but I still have no idea if he's capable of being a legit WR1. I've said that I have high expectations for him this season, but that's about it. Unlike with Elam (who I always thought wasn't good), and despite his 8 minute 40 time, I'm optimistic when it comes to Keon. However, I think him & Allen need to work on taking advantage of his height & reach a bit more. The announce team made a good point during one of those back shoulder throws in the endzone. Keon would probably have a better chance to score if Josh can place the ball high & let him use that size to jump over the smaller defenders. Get that ball placement right & it won't matter if it takes him a full quarter to run a route.

I do when it follows a smooth curve, or there's precedent for the growth - like say with Walker needing to get healthy and get some better coaching. When a player experiences exponential growth that no one saw coming (because if they did he would have gone early in the first round), it comes off as disingenuous when people with no skin in the game try to bring out the "I told you so"'s and glom on to their success. Be happy for Coleman and happy for the Bills, but I'm not going to acknowledge someone's premonition that he'd immediately blossom after a single offseason where he caught 50% of his targets the year before. Edit - for the record, I thought he had promise as a pick: I just don't like the lazy attack.

And then there was not giving Josh a first down on his slide. The ref in the booth said it was botched and not even close.
-
Hey, you have the situation where Bishop will learn by playing, and the team was fortunate to get a win on Sunday. However, if Bishop’s learning curve is costing the team wins, I’d consider putting Poyer in. He may be slow but he knows how to play. He and Hyde were the QBs of the defense for all those years. We’ve seen Bishop take bad angles on ball carriers and who knows what was going on with that blitz play. He was like 15 yards back, the ball was snapped and after a second or so, he blitzes, which left a big hole in the back end. So, did he then remember he was supposed to blitz or Rapp tell him so then he did? It was weird. Collinsworth even pointed it out.

You don't think projecting a player's evolution is part of the draft evaluation?

BullBuchanan replied to saundena's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm pretty sure this has been the rule for decades. It's at minimum been a very long time. If you go out of bounds you can't be the first one to touch the ball. It's not that uncommon of a foul. It used to happen on punts a decent bit. -
He was literally mugged on his 2nd 2pt conversion try. Damn near had his jersey yanked off. How that wasn’t a penalty is baffling.

Josh Allen, the most expensive hotdog in the league
BullBuchanan replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall
ChoaDog I've lived all over the country and they're by far the best hot dog available commercially in any major city I've been in, and it's not even close. If Sahlens is a 10, Wardynski is a 9, and no one else is higher than a 7. -
Those takes that were made when we drafted him were totally valid at the time. Him evolving as a player is not a part of that equation. No one would be calling him trash if what we drafted was what we saw yesterday. He was a million miles away from that as a rookie. This is just a really lazy take, and I shouldn't have even taken the bait.

Lamar holds records that Josh does not, and he's a two time MVP. No one is trying to take anything away from Josh, but there's more than one great player in the league. -

I know Henry is amazing, but some of his runs against the Bills he is basically untouched, or untouched until he gets to the dbs. -
Maybe it’s not crazy that Poyer gets activated this year
