Sure there is a possibility that going all in doesn't work, you don't win a Super Bowl and are back to being irrelevant for multiple seasons. I am also of the opinion that Beane and McDermott has gotten this team as far as they can take them. A lot of that has to do how they built this team. They focus on culture over talent isn't working. It wins in the regular season but you need elite playnakers on both sides of the ball to win a Super Bowl. Another one is drafting for team fit versus taking the best player available.

One bonus I just thought of to Houston winning - we ideally want to be the 6 seed if we're assuming Baltimore wins the AFCN. For that to happen we ideally want Houston tying or beating our record. That means we travel probably to Indy or maybe Jacksonville in the wildcard round. That's a preferable outcome to traveling to Baltimore IMO.

I like most of what you said. Beane keeps assuming player performance trajectories will keep improving or stay the same. They don’t. Most of these players prime years are 3-6 years depending on positions. Done a poor job of replenishing wr, DT (before this last draft- it was just d Carter in 2 years) and LB in the draft. And to that end. He’s trading up way too much. We’re losing a lot of mid round picks because he thinks he MUST have this or that player. Hasn’t worked out.

What’s funny about this list is all of these guys have played in one outside of system players and somebody that shouldn’t even be on the list in the first place. Randall Cunningham? Give me a break. Moon and Fouts were great QB’s but lessons on why offensive diversification matters. Heavy pass first systems that had defenses that splintered. You could easily argue the systems that made them great were so severely flawed they could never go further, and yes, that is on the coach. Point to them for innovation but not practicality. But those players really have nothing in common with the Bills situation. Watching people try and normalize our inability to even get to the big game is humorous to say the least.

I probably would say they most closely resemble the 2011 Ravens with a better QB and a worse defense. 2011 Ravens were a 12-4 team but did win on the road in the playoffs. But the Bills if they should make a run will probably make it off of Josh and the ground game and a defense that “gets hot”. Who knows the AFC Isn’t exactly having a power house team you really fear even on the road

Yes. Quite literally the WORST ST'S OF ALL TIME. Their is a great video on Youtube that is absolutely BAFFLING, that that team was sank that much by ST's. Fantasy numbers mean nothing.. who cares where there QB is there? All matters is did he lead your team to an W or not. And who is the standout WR1 in NE? Diggs? Who everyone said lost a step and was at best a low level tier 2 WR.. Boutte and Douglas were considered nice WR3 and WR4 why are they better? Because Maye had made them better. As for D the Bills D is ranked HIGHER than NE in DVOA. And how would a bad D send any QB to the IR? While I agree Maye is still young and has to prove himself all the things you said were either irrelevant or wrong IMO.

Thompson has looked good in the limited time we've seen him. I've seen more than enough of Bernard to know the dude can barely walk, and the only reason hes suited up is been that they literally wont let him sit due to all the other injuries. If we had enough others healthy at the position, he probably wouldve got multiple weeks off. Im much more p*d at Beane for allowing this to happen, than I am Bernard pushing through an injury he 100% should not be asked to. Dude has serious guts, and is being s*** all over for it. Now, in your defense, Thompson's play has made it where you shouldn't take him off the field. Thats a compliment to him more than a knock on Bernard. The best news is Bernard will get a chance to get right, hopefully an extended one. If Thompson continues to play like he has, he needs to keep starting, and having a healthy/healthier Bernard is a great alternative should we need it. Its mind boggling how hurt everyone is though. Benford really turned on the boosters as of late, and looks back to old self. Same with Milano. Im not counting on their continued health as is, but its nice to get confirmation these guys aren't suddenly dogs***, after getting extended. The Bills are currently sitting in the 7th seed spot. 1 game ahead of the Texans. The texans have the tie breaker. A couple of more wins is not likely enough 10 wins might take the AFC South. It will take the AFC North. But it is not clear 10 gets a wild card spot. Chargers, Colts, Texans all have a path to 10 wins that are not mutually exclusive, with it possible one or more of them gets to 11. Chief could win out for 11 (I don't thinkt they will, I think they are done). The Bills can't really need to win 3 out of five to be comfortably in a a wild card.

Poor talent evaluation is not an accident. I'd call that a combination of arrogant and stupidly stubborn. Especially because the history is there going back practically their whole tenure at OBD. Because this issue didn't show up in 2024...it's been an oncoming slow-motion train wreck since 2021. End of the road or mediocre UFAs. Not developing the position w/higher picks. I cannot remember a Super Bowl champions who entire offense relied on the QB (with all due respect to James Cook). And a team whose defensive strategy relied on the QB sustaining long drive after long drive to keep the defense off the field.
