perhaps he is the vet replacement for Forrest. I think Rapp/Hancock or Bishop could be sufficient, but I'd bring in a guy coming off a good preseason as another lotto ticket at the other safety spot.
-
Tony Jefferson, S cut by Chargers. Guy is a vet with success in this league. Miles ahead of Rapp or Hamlin. Good mentor for Bishop.
-
Next they’ll bring in Josh Norman. We do play Henry week 1. We need someone he can stiff arm 20 feet across the field.
-
QB is the most important sports position on the planet. All the talent in the world doesn’t matter when your QB chokes in the playoffs. Lamar Jackson hasn’t played well enough against the Chiefs or Bills in the postseason. He’s been the problem.

Do you any friends or family that are food pushers?
Johnny Hammersticks replied to Another Fan's topic in Off the Wall
One of my co-workers is always bringing in food to work to share with everyone. I know her intentions are good, but she just can’t cook worth a darn and people feel obligated to eat her food. On Monday she brought in these Salisbury steak meatballs which sounds decent in theory. Until I saw raisins in there with the meatballs. 🤮 -
we do have a lot of CBs. I guess I figured given that Bishop did not really show a ton in preseason, they'd keep a vet on. I mean, I really am not upset Forrest is gone, just figured another vet back there.
-
Not even a little bit of a surprise. We brought back everyone from last year's Safety room. Jordan Hancock showed a quick aptitude for Safety. And Hamlin's contract was fully guaranteed. Cutting him would result in a 750k loss in general Cap and 2 million in Dead Cap. Plus, regardless of how fans feel about him, McDermott trusts him. Forrest was a longshot to begin with. When they Drafted Hancock and started playing him at Safety, it was all over.
-
The room is Bishop, Hamlin, Hancock and Rapp. The first 3 are #3's, not starters. And one of them will be starting with Rapp. Hancock has some potential, but is a rookie. Bishop has not shown anything in real games. Just too many ???.
-
Hoping McDermott and Babich are going to lean into hybrid types of secondary deployment. Johnson, Ingram, Lewis, Hancock, and to a degree Bishop can each contribute in multiple roles.
-
I'd say three strikes and you're out!
-
S. Forrest kind of given depth at safety? But overall, yeah, no real like "oh my gosh".
-
Next time you want to bash Brandon Beanes draft, think of the freebie
-
Thin in what way? Genuine question, we seem to have the appropriate number of bodies with a mix of veteran/early-career/developmental players. Our backups aren't world-beaters, but backups rarely are.

Tell me if I'm wrong here (husband rant)
Johnny Hammersticks replied to Simon's topic in Off the Wall
My wife burnt my bagel about 15 years ago and it nearly ended my marriage. I feel your pain. Seriously though, my wife is an excellent baker, but she can’t cook anything that doesn’t have a recipe and go in the crock pot. She can’t even grill a chicken breast correctly. Some of the concoctions she throws together are completely gross. The kids beg me to cook dinner. 😂 -
Man I wish someone could’ve beat out Hamlin or Lewis not to mention why did Dwayne Carter or Curtis Samuel stay on the squad when they’ve done absolutely nothing.
-
I'd imagine they'll add Dane Jackson to the Practice Squad and if he's not ready by Week 1 or 2, they'll call him up to go alongside Christian Benford, Ja'Marcus Ingram, and Dorian Strong.
-
almost put Forrest in my "suprise cut" list. Really suprised he got cut, but didn't watch much this preseason. We are REALLY thin in the secondary.
-
I'm a little surprised that they kept both Shavers and Moore. I know theyre very different players
-
Also worth noting that Tre White is NOT on IR so now we know the injury is not long term. Doesn't mean for sure he'll be ready for week 1 though. We'll see.
-
Just two extra days of practice
-
TY. Really cool how they posted this by position.
-
Just weird because the rumors going around were that he was going to make the 53 and Dewayne Carter was getting axed.
-
Only real surprise to me is that they kept 6 WRs. The last time they did that it was for Andre Roberts who was as much a WR as Brandon Codrington is a CB. I'm thinking Elijah Moore may be a mainstay on the gameday inactive list as the last WR on the depth chart and no special teams contribution. I think he'll be here as Samuel and Shakir's backup.

No hot tuna for me, unless it's proper tuna on the grill. For me, canned tuna needs to be served cold or room temperature. Mrs. Things and I are currently holidaying in Fiji and have been eating as much fresh fish as we can find. If you're ever in the mood for a "real" South Pacific dish, here's a recipe for you. It's common throughout the islands. In Tahiti they call it Poisson Cru, in the Cook Islands, it's called Iki Mata and here in Fiji it's called Kokoda. It's generally the same recipe. For safety reasons, be sure the tuna steaks have been frozen and then thawed, which kills any parasites in the raw fish. Delicious! https://www.196flavors.com/cook-islands-ika-mata/ https://www.thespruceeats.com/recipe-for-tahitian-poisson-cru-marinated-raw-fish-1533951 https://www.fiji.travel/things-to-do/local-eats/how-to-make-fijian-kokoda Oh!... and don't complain about the wife's cooking! You never know what she'll add to the ingredients the next time!

Some drafts are just like that. I think the 2000 draft was also notable for lacking in many outstanding players.
