Elijah Moore Visiting the Bills today (Update: Signed!)

I think Coleman has to improve to even be on the field. On any other NFL team I don't know if he's even dressing on game days. Lucky for him our top outside threat is the #3 guy from the Chargers followed by a bunch of tiny slot receivers. I think he will play by default and might put up some numbers but is he really improved or is he just the new Duke Williams and we don't have anybody else?

It sounds like you are looking at this as a stat about the QB's. It is not that. It IS a stat about how defense being effective or not can shape the outcome of a game. It is a defensive stat that just uses the QB's to illustrate the impact .

Who is our worst match up in the AFC as of now?
Process replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's obviously the team that has knocked us out of the playoffs 4 times. The fear of the Ravens on here is so irrational. Sure they are good on paper. But there is a giant mental hurdle we need to get over vs KC. -

Not fact based? In every one of this three examples over the last three years once the Bills changed their philosophy, and focused much more on the run, they turned their seasons completely around in mid season two times--and then last season speaks for itself, an entire season where the run was not an afterthought, scared almost no one, under dorsey. You can have your opinion, but for most objective observers the Bills changing, committing to the run, was the catalyst each time. In fact, that is one of the main reasons incompetent dorsey was fired---and Brady's most obvious change, clearly, was running more, adding more diversity to the running game, and almost never going away from that. It is what our great coach wanted, what he got, and then in last year we saw the result of what happens doing that for an entire year. One of the most balanced teams in NFL history, the first ever with both 30 rushing and 30 passing touchdowns ever, leading to the most points scored in the entire league--and the most ever scored by the Bills, and Josh Allen finally won the MVP. Etcetera etcetera. The changes in the running game was an essential, vital element in those turn around and in last season's record breaking offensive success. Yup, Singletarry was a good back then, and when they finally started using him more, after the Tampa loss, ending for committee approach that worked against his strengths, and he really shined. Last year we saw what could now happen with that same approach, but now with a much more dynamic back, a much faster back, with elite vision--and making the run a much more important part of the offense for the entire season. See the bold above, please. That is the difference, and why he likely will be signed to an extension Seem to be a basher with the way you use comically parse and use stats, in this half of these game... though I don't know if that is the case. And, let me guess again, the concept of "complimentary football" once set you flying over the edge. -

Houston and Baltimore got us during a brief slump last year. We still almost came back and won the Houston game, and we got revenge against Baltimore in the playoffs. Nothing about the Texans really scares me. Historically we've done a good job slowing down Lamar Jackson. Derrick Henry added a tough wrinkle and has always been rough for us. But we adjusted and made him less of a factor in our second matchup. Cincinnati has given us lots of trouble with Joe Burrow under center, mostly because he's fantastic at picking apart a soft zone defense. However, the Bills defense started sprinkling in more man-coverage last year, and I think they take another step in that direction this season. The Bengals defense and run game has also gone backwards since the last time we played. As I've continually said each of the last 3-4 seasons... the Bills have surpassed Kansas City in pure talent. And our roster is built in a favorable way to beat them. Regular season we've taken them down 4 straight years, even though the games were close. Not sure if it's just a mental thing, but we can't seem to get past them in the playoffs. Our strong defense can't get stops. It can't just be the Chiefs "turning it on" for the postseason either, because other opponents have been able to handle them. Based purely on scheme and personnel, the Ravens are probably still our toughest matchup. Based on the mental aspect that comes along with sports, the Chiefs are still the most difficult team for us to get past. -
One Song to Listen to For the Rest of Your Life....

This was exactly the first thing I thought of when I saw this thread, but then didn't go with it because I'll never be able to justify how Money slots into the one song theory. -

Henry is 31 with a lot of miles on him. At some point hopefully this year the decline will begin. -

The Bills have beat the Ravens 3 of the last 4 times they've played them, including twice in the playoffs. -
Seeing as Amari hasn't signed anywhere by now, I'm going to guess that either he hasn't recovered from his wrist/arm injury or he's asking for too much money. I expect someone will sign him before the season but I think his best days are well behind him.

I think that the worst matchups are Baltimore and Cincy. I don’t know why the Bills just don’t look great against them. I voted KC because McDermott hasn’t figured out how to stop them when it matters. -

Chiefs and Ravens. Ravens with that power running game against our D is always a concern, and not sure you can count on turnovers to stop them. As for the Chiefs, it's just beyond obvious that Reid and Spags vs Sean and whoever our O coordinator is, well big advantage Chiefs. -

Until we have a defense that shows up in big games, it'll be the Chiefs we can't beat. Their defense makes big plays in big moments, ours plays small. Maybe the obscene amount of draft and FA capital will make all this change but seems like we've heard this song before -

On the punter thing, call me crazy but I like Camarda. He is crazy athletic and gets rid of the ball quickly. Punters seem to do better in their second stop anyway. Beane specifically talked about how much they liked him pre draft a few years ago. It's his job to lose IMO. Robbins is a nothing burger to me. The punter competition to watch around the league is Ryan Stonehouse vs Jake Bailey in Miami. The Dolphins brought the Titans special teams guy over and the first thing they did was sign Stonehouse. The Bills had a chance to sign him, maybe they had no interest, but he went to a place with an established punter, which I think is telling. I do think the Bills would be in on Bailey if released. I hope that Camarda lives up to his 4th round pick draft status, lights it up and we have a cheap guy for the foreseeable future. -
You're correct, living in a constant state of orange man bad is a terrible way to live.

It really all depends on the improved defense. Get pressure on the QB and it won’t matter on the matchups. No pressure and we could struggle against anyone. That said, Baltimore’s power running game is our worst matchup on paper. We are still small on front and can’t stop the run until proven otherwise.
