Broncos- Colts. They had it won and got porked by the refs. Patriots-Raiders game. I know opening day is weird. And is not a sign of things to come. But that is a disastrous organization from top to bottom. If the two teams played Sunday, the Raiders would get obliterated. Jags-Texans game. Huge lead blown to the backup Steelers-Bills. They probably find a way to win if the first turnover does not happen Chargers-Washington. In retrospect, that was a terrible loss. Bills-Dolphins game. The Patriots are good. Losing like that to Miami might be what puts us on the road in the postseason. That was the ugliest game all year. Where there was no hope from start to end Texans-Bucs game. This feels like a preseason game. Big Baker fan here, though. Don’t really care at all about the game. Eliminated in my main fantasy league. Two NFC teams. I guess I’d like the falcons to continue to stink.

Whatever loss each team had to their closest division competitor, or conference competitor, or just conference loss….depending on the situation. Not trying to be an ass, but there is actually and answer to this for every team that is objectively correct and you just look at their place in the standings and schedule to determine it, it isn’t very hard to do and therefore this just isn’t a very interesting question for discussion. Obviously the Pats for the Bills. Each other team has a fairly obvious answer for themselves as well.

What am I missing here? If we were both at 11-4, why would we give up our chance to win the division and get at least one home playoff game? I’m not even talking about the one seed. But I’d be doing everything to win the AFCE.

Love the optimism. Solid post. The thing that really sticks out to me though is how you talk about the Bills running game. To paraphrase, you believe the Bills are a run first team and have a very strong running game. Probably due to a strong oline and annex excellent RB Cook. Throw in good run zone and gap schemes too. Sound about right? I just don't think this is the best offensive philosophy to have. The Bills have over emphasized the running game at the expense of the passing game. Their offense is very script dependent. Don't get me wrong the running game is important and a good offense can't be only a run or pass team. You need both obviously. I'd rather have Allen throwing the ball to dynamic WRs who can be effective with yards after the catch, pick up chunk plays, take it to the house, etc...You get the point. Give Allen weapons and don't take the ball out of his hands. When you have Josh Allen you give him WR weapons, vertical threats, quick strike offense. This will open up the running game. In short, I really dislike the Bills offensive philosophy. Yes the stats are still very good but it's obvious why. Go Bills.

I had a friend working with the browns during that draft and he was adamant it was down to Baker and Josh But the question marks were too much to Hitch the first overall pick on them And Baker was a Heisman winning quarterback with a great work ethic and a fiery personality and a high floor Look at Sam darnold now.. he's much better than what the Jets showed because the organization you go to means a lot

IDK if Harbaugh is to blame. I know I’m late to the party but just sort read the comprehensive story of what happened and that’s a pretty spectacular flame out. I do feel sorry for him, he is responsible for his actions obviously, but this is tough to watch happen to anyone IMO.

But if the trend is real, and the Bills really are Billsy, then Benford will tear his bicep when he returns.

On one hand you use injuries to absolve us under all sorts of hypotheticals but on the other you can't even acknowledge that if treated equally we would have lost in the Wild Card at home vs Miami. You can't possibly hold both views in a logical way. I understand what happened in the Miami game, but again, you apply what you want to fit your view. Our KC games were were largely dominated statistically by them, but yes, it was very close. Same with Miami but the other way. In the end the issue I have with this thought process is what you're displaying in your responses. It is very one sided and doesn't consider the implications of injuries vs us or in any other situations. It's simply a hypothetical "we would have won if" which then only gets applied to us and nobody else. Which is why I said the results have to mean something.

Phins certainly have talent to compete with the Pats.. the first match up was tight. I actually think the Pats have more pressure than anyone is letting on. Without a doubt Josh's not only the best quarterback in the class but probably the best in the world The browns were stuck in a situation of do we want to try to develop a kid with great size and athleticism and talent but he needs a lot of reps Versus the ready to play NFL quarterback who has a really high floor Thank God they took the guy who didn't need to learn much... Because watching the bills these last 9 years I will never take for granted

Cool. Bottom line is the defense has cost the team more often than not. Injured or not. We don't need to make excuses.

So we would have beat Miami with Tua starting when we won 34-31? How would of a home loss in the wild card to Miami changed your outlook?

the hype was all Baker #1 as I recall though. Im sure that is debatable but it's my recollection Now it's clearly #17 as the best QB in that class. Im not biased much lol
