Yeah it is. You want all these guys competing for two backup rolls in an ideal world. So if Rapp gets injured we likely have to play a guy that should be on a practice squad. We had to sacrifice somewhere though and I keep hearing how good McDermott is with safeties. The value of having a defensive head coach though is supposed to be masking your weaknesses on that side of the ball. Other wise, what is it you exactly do here McDermott?

We don't have a P.U.N.T.E.R. !!! 🙂 🙂 Seriously, the biggest piece that concerns me on this team is still defense...We are one injury away from losing Milano or Bernard and then there is no NFL caliber backups other than Williams. Last two years both these gentlemen missed significant number of games and it was evident in this teams inability to stop the run. On Offense, if you saw the highlights of the 1st half of last season, both Coleman and Kincaid made great plays before injuries stuck them and then they were never the same in the 2nd half including the playoffs. I expect both to come and contribute and improve that offense even more.

Palmer has a legitimate chance to be that improvement over Hollins or Cooper, obviously.

Yes, what you say makes perfect sense ( and that in itself means your words have no place in this thread), as the Bills will clearly have a better defense next year, maybe even a top ten defense, or better, and their offense, well we all know what we will get from them. And with another year under Brady's belt, and the continued maturation of our young players, and some exciting new additions, and a healthy Knox and Coleman... But you know perfectly well that yours is not an acceptable answer, does not relate to the narrow poll and comically negative OP. Read between the lines: The lowly Bills, 13-4 last year, leading the AFC Championship game late in the fourth quarter, are not in the same league as those AFC behemoths. They are going to wreck the lowly Bills, just you watch. This super positive thread is designed to be a bash and then bash some more and then, well, you know... Perhaps you did not read the entire OP?, where each of those dynamic powerhouses, every team, is described in an extremely positive manner, and of course, all better than the lowly Bills, and all going to beat them up, duh, (And notice, duh again, not one positive word at all about the Bills , how they positively match up, as each of those ultra scary AFC giants is so glowingly described?) Do we have a top 10 wr room now....no. But the addition of Moore adds a John Brown element to our team. Palmer obviously replaces Cooper as a younger and slightly "better ability to separate" version of Gabe Davis. And Shakir is younger and quicker than Beasley. Samuel can assume the McKenzie role. I think the 2 wild cards and somewhat unknowns would be Coleman & Kincaid. They will either thrive or at least improve on 2024 or maybe not? If these 2 do really step up their game, then everyone will truly "eat" at the Allen buffet.

This is just not true. New players, including rookies, become instant starters and contributors all the time for the Bills. Heck, even in-season trades have gotten on the field as starters almost immediately (Douglas and Cooper). White, Benford, Brown, McGovern, Dawkins, Coleman, Rousseau, etc, etc. There are countless examples of free agent signings and draft picks who came in and started and contributed immediately. When they don't, it is the exception. Bishop is going to start over Hamlin. So it's all good. Rapp played well last year. Not sure what people have against him. He is a good tackler and saved a lot of TD's, including some key stops in certain games. He needs to stay healthy, though.

I know I'm a little late to the party on Moore but he isn't your normal JAG. He's got top 10% speed (3 cone drill, 20-yard shuttle, 40-yard dash) in a bottom 10% frame (height, weight, wingspan). He's probably not the kind of guy you want out there every play and it's unlikely that's what we got him for. If used correctly, he does seem like he could be a nice complementary piece. I'd rather have a big-bodied fast guy who can run the entire route tree but a FA like that would be out of our price range. Beggars can't be choosers.

Yes, probably. There's a fella on the board who claims to have a friend who is cognizant of Coleman's offseason work that offers a more positive prognostication. I am not terribly ebullient about the WR room, but folks who believe everything is aces with the offense are in a heady mood just now.

Broncos vs Texans will be fun. I hope the Texans get pummeled. I do not like them and their QB becomes more unlikable every time he opens his mouth. The Broncos are an ascending team, so they are interesting to me, especially if they can harass the Chiefs in that division. They put Vikes vs Seahawks because Darnold is facing his old team, but I don't think anyone really cares about that besides those two fanbases. Seriously. Commanders are interesting with their rise last year and the noise they made in the playoffs, but any game the Bears are in just makes it an automatic dud. Green Bay vs Steelers is also a dumb choice to include, even if Rodgers signs with the Steelers.

The Bills are the worst matchup for the rest of the AFC.

Coleman is exactly who he was in college if you watch his tape. A couple highlight catches, a lot of jump balls he doesn't come down with, and zero separation. And that was against college guys that are working at Starbucks now. I don't think there is a leap to be had. He will make a few plays to remind you he's on the team but be otherwise invisible most games with the defense draped all over him And Worthy might go for 1000 yards but we don't want a guy like that. Meanwhile Beane signs Elijah Moore who is a slower and worse version of Worthy lol.

And all those clapping Beane on the back will be crying in their beer if Coleman doesn't make a leap, because it's hard to see where else the receiving room is going to offer significant improvement.

It will be at least 10. We carry at least 5 at each position. At times we've carried 6 at both. Ending the season last year, we had 5 DE's (Groot, Miller, Epenesa, Smoot, and Solomon) and 6 DT's (Oliver, Jones, Johnson, Carter, Jefferson, and Phillips). It's pretty clear that everyone can easily stick for now - as we're at 5 DE's (Groot, Bosa, Epenesa, Jackson, and Solomon) and 5 DT's (Oliver, Jones, Sanders, Walker, and Carter). Worry about finding room for Hoecht and Epenesa when Week 7 comes around. You could easily have injuries in the first 6 weeks that could make that decision simple. Even though I'd much rather prefer difficult decisions to be made. Either way, it's nothing that they should be worrying about at the moment.

We can beat any of them. I think Baltimore, KC, and LA Chargers could all beat Bills in the playoffs. Baltimore and Chargers can run on our defense. Not sure Chargers have enough in the passing game with their current WRs. Of those three I am least worried about KC. Kelce is a corpse out there now. KC o-line is worse. Jones is still dominant but he is getting older too - he will be 31 this season. I understand the fear of Cincinnati but I think they have a bottom 5 defense again and probably will not even make the playoffs.

Ravens have the best roster, Chiefs the best coach, and Bengals the best O. I think Ravens end of with the 1 seed. Texans have a solid D. But confused with OL moves in trading arguably their best OT. Guessing he was a cancer. But I see OL regression and Stroud has hit his ceiling. They don’t concern me as much as the other 3.

Depth isn't a problem. We have four good second-teamers: Rapp, Hamlin, Forrest, Bishop.

Which ignores the fact that it is 100 years later, with a far more interconnected world economy, and that Trump's proposed increase, when it goes fully into effect in something like 70 days, will be approximately 25 times greater than that 1922 increase. As the WSJ editorial said, Trump seems to believe that if a little bit of something is good, a lot of that something must be a whole lot better. A lot of MAGA types are so seduced by his shoot from the hip nonsense that they can no longer even comprehend how outrageous his proposals are. Not just twice as large as the largest prior tariff increase, but 25 times larger.

The 53-man roster allotment will ultimately be at least 10, won't it? Has that been emphasized already? It's been 10 recently even without such a targeted effort to add to the groups. Gotta imagine it's at least 9 to start the season, with the knowledge that 2 more will be joining week 7. Maybe the first 6 weeks the Bills carry an extra WR or DB or OL instead of a 10th DL. Either way, they get to keep a couple dudes who might not otherwise survive cutdown day and would have been candidates for poaching. By week 7, injuries and other developments could provide longer term standing for the DL and other guy on the roster who the suspended guys would otherwise replace. Sneaky advantage to suspensions LOL: baked in 7 week roster buffer waivers for 2 guys on the bubble.
