It is groundhog day all over. Lose to an AFC team where you turn the ball over like crazy, take a billion penalties, the offense has an off day and the defense can carry the water. I have seen this movie over and over and mark my words come January when the Bills are the 2 or 3 or heck a wildcard team as Maye looks like he can carry the water for them it'll be the same damn discussion again. For a guy who is a defensive mind McD's defenses have only gotten worse over the years yet the investment is pour more resources there with nothing to show for it. At this point fire McD, burn the ships and go with Brady as the head coach because that is the only change that might actually change the course from another defeat on the road in January where the offense has a B+ day and the defense allows 30+ points and everyone criticizes everything when the true issue is unless 17 is A+ 24/7 he will never have the help to make the Super Bowl.

4-0 with Elijah Moore in the lineup, 0-1 without him.

I like Sean McDermott's overall philosophy as a head coach, and the way he runs the locker room. Players talk all the time about how superior the culture is in Buffalo versus other teams. That's the main reason I'm reluctant to scream for a change. But I've also come to the conclusion that we will NEVER take the next step, until McDermott is willing to totally concede control of the Defense to an elite coordinator. That means scheme, personnel and playcalling. His system and style has completely run it's course. We have seen the same problems persist for 5-6 years in a row now. - Lack of QB pressure in key moments - Poor tackling - Undersized front getting steamrolled by bigger O-Lines - Key injuries, also due to undersized players - Cornerbacks playing too soft in coverage At what point do we realize that Matt Milano and Terrell Bernard are small for linebackers, and thus will always have problems with injuries? At what point do we realize the same thing with Taron Johnson, since we are asking him to basically play like a third linebacker half the time? At what point do we realize that a 4-man pass rush needs elite pass rushers, and not just a constant rotation to succeed? At what point do we realize that good QBs can pick apart soft zone coverage, and we need to draft elite guys who can go man/man against top WRs? -
Yeah It's unforgivable to me that we can't find one WR that can get separation (or is it coaching? I don't know) Gonna leave this here - I also find it SO frustrating when Allen will not hit an open guy over the middle 8-15 yards downfield while looking for something deep. Hitting those 10-15 yarders consistently will help open things up downfield, and we should be hitting them like clockwork.

I’m not sure who’s coming in and winning anything with this defense. -

And many have them have been on the fire McDermott/Beane bandwagon since their third year here. It's not like this year people are suddenly saying it's been long enough. Y'all sound like broken records over the last decade. -

Brady is the GOAT, and you are correct in that Allen isn't on his level until he wins a Super Bowl and probably multiple Super Bowls to be on Brady's level. One thing I am sure of is Bill would build a strong defense. He is also a great DC as well as HC. While Allen isn't on Brady's level I would want to see Josh in the playoffs with a strong defense on his side. I bet the Bills would have a Lombardi if he had a strong defense helping him the playoffs. Bill would give him that. -

I don't disagree. Ive been suspended on here 3 times for a perceived crusade against McDermott. But I try to be balanced. Lack of focus is partly coaching. 11 penalties and 3 turnovers is on the players -
I for one cant believe McDermott would have Brady call a play for Josh to purposely throw an interception in the red zone. Then he goes and forces Brady to call for Keon Coleman to fumble at his own 15 yard line. UGHHHH!! Fire him today.

That's just flat out false on two fronts. First off, when McD got here we were not even "in the hunt" by Thanksgiving many years. Now we are an almost automatic playoff team year after year. That in itself is closer to their goal. They have eluded and at times flat out said, a Super Bowl win would be great. The the team is content making the playoffs yearly and giving themselves a chance every year. And they have done that. The teams goal of getting, as Beane has said, numerous bites at the apple is being met. -
Everybody eats but we don't have that guy who wants that last slice of pizza. Instead we have guys who go, there's one more slice anyone want it. No one is showing josh they want to be that guy he looks to when a play needs to be made. I'm not even talking about the talent of the position I'm talking about the mentality of it. You saw Diggs wanted that ball he needed that ball. Maye saw that and looked his way every time even if he happened to be covered.

The penalties killing any and all offensive rhythm over and over again I think are the main reason why the Bills floundered in the first half. This isn't a popular opinion here, but the offense is mostly fine, and they're punching above their weight considering the investment. Joe Brady is going to end up a head coach in the next two years, I'd put money on it. People are complaining about the offense because they subconsciously know the defense isn't going to stop anything unless there's an incredible individual effort. Making the offense need to be perfect isn't sustainable. The defense is the problem and so much of it has to be with scheme. The secondary is never close to anyone. They can't play out of structure at all. If we don't get pressure with the front 4, it's always a completion because we never actually cover anyone, just sections of zone that we're obviously too slow or can't process quick enough to attack the ball. I refuse to believe that all of the corners we have are just not athletic enough to actually cover WRs. -
Especailly if he fires Adams and Ruff after the season... he is not blowing up to FO offices... Or one less turnover... bottom line to me... Josh played c+ b- football... if he isnt wearing a cape with this defense really good chance you are losing especially to a good team...

Here is a list of all of the defenses in NFL history that did not allow opponents to go on long drives, consume clock, keeping yardage down and keeping the QB on the bench: 1. Null None. All of them do this. Every one. The Bills defense isn't great. Far from it. But it's also not as awful as many on here would have it. If you can find stats ranking how many long drives defenses allow, it might well be worth talking about. But with no particular way of quantifying this, it's really more of a way of saying that you don't like it. They do need to improve the D. But the problem was mostly the offense last night.

It’s a coaches job to scheme to his players strengths not the other way around as mcclappy has done….statistically speaking Allen is above Brady and superbowls and championships are a team accolade -

Loved him when he was here. Not sure about him as a head coach though. Definitely would be an upgrade to Babich -
I think the only hope for something comparable to that with our cap situation is to hit on a draft picks, but that requires some draft capital to be spent on that position.

Doesn’t happen very often, but I agree with the hosts on WGR this morning. Kincaid was unstoppable yesterday, but only had 6 targets. There may be times when “everybody eats” is not a good idea, and instead get the ball to the hot hand… i.e. Maye & Diggs last night. -

There’s something so funny to me about calling a fanbase impatient because McD and Beane haven’t won a conference championship in ALMOST A DECADE. We have lifelong fans on this board who were single, got married, and have had multiple children SINCE MCBEANE GOT HERE -
Two years ago they were three games back with 4 to play. It was only one year with no competition.

Yeah... '90% want change' is absolutely NOT an accurate statement. Sorry we aren't going 17-0 this year.

I've had this same argument here before. Being an elite QB does not make you Tom Brady. Belichick had the greatest QB of all time. Perhaps the greatest professional athlete and champion of all time. I know we all love Josh, but his name shouldnt even be mentioned in the same sentence as Brady's. 74 year old circus freak Belichick isnt brining Brady with him. I cant believe we are even having the conversation about Bill frickin Belichick right now.
