Game week thread - Bills at Falcons MNF
CirclnWagons replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Early reports are confirming that Babich and his defensive assistants will devote most of the week to trying to convince Rapp, Bishop, White and Benford that the players in the other jerseys catching the ball is a bad thing. Also in the news, as a nod to the painfully obvious, the interior d line will be taught strategic fall placement in hopes of potentially creating a tripping hazard as all efforts to actually tackle an opponents running back have proven futile. -
If that's what you took from my reply I don't know what to tell you ...

Update: Dorian Strong to IR
Bob Chandler's Hands replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall
In his presser McD mentioned Strong was going to see a specialist and when asked if it could be season ending said they can't rule anything out at this point. -
nope. not at all. a lot of people need to eat some crow on this. i saw defenders of his saying the lady had 60 yards to swerve and chose to swerve into oncoming traffic? she swerved left when truck in front of her went right. at 80 mph and 60 yards distance that is less than 2 seconds (1.53 seconds exact) to react. none of this is to say his actions to take his life were good or anything positive. no lives should have been lost but because of the actions of Lacy two people are now dead.

Some thoughts about Maye's Sunday night performance off the top of my head: 1. Early in the game (really, through most of the first half) the Bills did a great job pressuring him. He wasn't necessarily seeing ghosts -- but you could tell he was rattled. Collinsworth kept pointing out how he was unable to see beyond the pass rush and was keeping his eyes down. And, for as bad as the Bills offense played in the first half with 2 really bad turnovers that placed the defense in precarious situations -- Maye really only led the Pats to one scoring drive that resulted in just 3 points (and even that was gifted by the stadium's questionable timekeeper, who left a second on the clock for them to kick that field goal). For whatever reason the Bills eased up on the pressure -- not sure how much of it was good adjustments made by the Pats or how much of it was McD becoming overly conservative and backing off. Regardless, once the pressure eased you could see Maye's confidence increasingly rise -- to the point where he started making plays downfield even when he was under duress. 2. It can't be understated just how good Diggs was Sunday night. He made clutch plays and made a concerted effort to help his young QB whenever he was flushed from the pocket. Compare that to what Josh endured. I know many of us complain about the Bills' lacking a true downfield threat, someone with speed who can stretch a defense. That is true. But even more desirable is a receiver that simply has a feel for the game and is instinctively on the same page as his QB. We greatly miss what we had with Diggs (when he was motivated) and (to a lesser extent) a prime Beasley. There is no one on the team we have now who can (or appears willing to) do these things. Maybe Shakir to a certain extent -- and Kincaid has shown some real promise this year. But too many times Sunday night (and at other points this season) Josh has bought time with his legs and pocket presence -- and yet no receivers break open. I confess that I lack the insight to know whether this is something that could come with the crew we have on hand as time/chemistry improves -- or is it simply a fact that one or more massive upgrades are required at the position? For example, we joke here all the time about Coleman's lack of speed and inability to create separation -- but is it really impossible for him to a find a way to help his QB on a scramble drill? 3. Like others have said, if I were a Pats fan I would be excited. Maye has all of the physical tools. Maybe not Josh's upside (which is generational) -- but certainly in that next tier of guys like Herbert/Lawrence/Love. He's physical, nimble for such a big guy and can make all of the NFL throws.

So you want penalties called on every play with the “eye in the sky”?

For those complaining of @BillsFanNC tactic this morning................................and I am one of them. He is simply demonstrating the way that @Homelander posts at least twice a day. It is extremely annoying bumping old threads and posting something to a thread that really doesn't even match the subject. This board is put through this at least twice a day by our worst poster, lets hear the condemnation for him/her/they please. I hope that, now that he has made his point, NC will go back to his previous way of posting. .

When you see a Cold Front jersey, what is the first thing on your mind?

I see people in Uganda wearing Bills rivalry jerseys for free in the very near future !! Along side of their Bills Super Bowl champion T shirts from Superbowl 25, 26, 27, & 28 !! -

What USFL jersey is that? -
It won't look at all like that in the end, but I'd take that in a heartbeat! If it came down to the top 2 teams in the AFCC game? Yes! Josh Allen against Daniel Jones in a dome? I like it!

One would think that IF the NFL was all about the game they would be able to have a Ref looking at every play and the plays that have a penalty that is missed and every one but the ref on the field see's it that it could be over turned ! But instead they wait until games are lost because of the incompetent call during the games like last season in the Chiefs - Bills game then change the rules after the fact instead of before they happen that is the league being reactive instead of pro active . I even saw some calls in the Jags - Chiefs game that were blatant misses that could have easily changed the out come of that game and some on both sides, I know in real time some of those calls could be missed but if they would implement the so called Eye in the Sky Ref or what ever its called they could correct the human error that happens on some of these calls . There were a couple of those holding calls on the Bills center that were just ridiculous and some of the none calls on the Bills WR's that were also missed that helped that out come to be what it was ...

First, let me state this is not a look at me post. It’s not meant to be a post that says I have inside information. I don’t. It is what I was told by an NFL ref after a bills game. I was at a meeting later that week. I had been to the game, which the bills won. The conversation occurred before a meeting in Birmingham Alabama. One of the participants knew I had been to the game and that the ref had officiated the game. Just killing time, we talked about the game. No big deal, but a couple of things stood out to me that he said. Also, I was surprised to find out that a former SEC ref was doing the NFL from Birmingham Alabama. he said Josh Allen was the biggest ***** talker in the NFL. He said it wasn’t close. He talks ***** all game long. Not just in this game, but in every game. He said, he talks more ***** to the refs than any other player. And that is not taken very well by the refs across the league. he then told me that Josh, not the bills in general, will not get the benefit of a doubt on a call. Again, this was directed at Josh, and not the bills in general. he did not say that they would deliberately call a penalty that was not there. He just said Josh will not get the benefit of a spot or a close call. I thought it was an interesting take on Josh. 🤷♂️

I think the bolded is wrong. Josh was Josh but not getting ANY help outside of Kincaid as far as receivers getting separation, the running game and play calling. Joe Marino's All-22 review today was interesting because it outlined our failure to take advantage of the Pats base defense in the passing game. He also emphasizes how much better Josh was on his review than he thought initially. Basically, outside of 4 plays he talks about specifically, Josh was excellent. And yeah we can talk about those 4 plays all day like the pass he didn't make to Samuel after leaving a clean pocket, but as essentially the last play in the passing game for a game where he watched his weapons get no separation, maybe Josh was justified in thinking he needed to roll out to give him more of that run/pass option. Also would have been nice to see the obvious DPI flag thrown. -
Their defense is the biggest issue at this point. Their offense has been very up or down, but the defense all season has been very good all season. Top in yards allowed and top defense against the pass. The one flaw is their run defense which could favor Buffalo if they can eliminate the penalties, but they have a lot of youth they invested in on the defensive line. Penix is starting just his 8th game so he is still very green which means you will get some good and some bad. The game to me comes down to the Bills running it down their throats and not letting Penix get comfortable in the pocket. If one of those things happen they still win but close, if both happens probably closer to blow out, if neither happens could be Sunday all over again. Didn't return his shopping cart at Tops

Man the afc south really throwing a wrench in the wildcard path so far. Houston looks like they’re gonna climb into the race too it seemed impossible someone like the chiefs could miss a couple weeks ago but now I’m starting to see some paths
