Its OK for the Bills to be a run-first team
AlCowlingsTaxiService replied to First Round Bust's topic in The Stadium Wall
While I like our ground game, I just don’t feel like it’s the kind of run offense that is going to get you anywhere when the going gets a lot tougher (playoffs) … when it inevitably gets stopped, I have almost zero faith that our passing game will be able to overcome this -
same here man. i blame it all on my mom's side of the family. they're all in good shape, but heart attacks happen. she's still around at 85, has 88 and 91 yr old brothers, and they've all been on statins forever. i'm honestly just trying to avoid having a heart attack or stroke the day i retire, and my wife get all my *****.

The #1 Key To Buffalo Going On A Playoff Run

I actually think if the Defense can avoid too many more injuries, they’re starting to turn a corner. The secondary has stabilized, and Shaq Thompson is playing way better than Bernard was. If the likes of Bosa and Oliver can be healthy by the playoffs, even the D Line has the chance to get better. -

We could see this coming for over a month. One way or another the bills are going to end up in Baltimore. if they are healthy, they have always been excellent at home in prime time games. having said that the bengals just whipped them in Baltimore in prime time so maybe they just don’t have it this year. -
Game week thread - Bengals at Bills (flexed to 1pm ET)
PaattMaann replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
This might be one of the dumbest comments I have ever seen, and I'm not really trying to offend you. The Bills offense scores points on first drives incredibly well, like that is factual, they are top 5 in the league in getting points off the first drive...but don't trust the fact that they score points, its all about how it LOOKS while they do it??????? Like, seriously, you read that yourself and tell me that does not sound dumb? This was not a conversation about the Bills offense as a whole, I would agree with what you said above if you apply that to the offensive philosophy, but this was a discussion about them "starting slow" and I provided facts saying otherwise, facts that indisputably contrary to your claim. -
If we beat the Bengals, we’re winning the AFC

This is true but other than Maye, our losses are against your bottom tier. That’s one of the very frustrating things.

Looking ahead to the Patriots rematch.

Pats have played well and their coaches have done a terrific job -- they deserve credit for that. However, they have played a pretty soft schedule and have not been plagued by crippling injuries to key players. At present, the Bills have Ed Oliver, Michael Hoecht, Landon Jackson, Damar Hamlin, Taylor Rapp, and Curtis Samuel on IR, among others. They have also lost folks like Matt Milano, Terrell Bernard, and Dalton Kincaid for significant stretches. We certainly have had issues getting the team prepared for games against "weak" opponents, but in a long season every team has a few games where they under-perform. So, it is not just coaching, injuries have been pretty devastating for the Bills. All that said, it is time to buckle down, beginning with the Bengals, who are suddenly looking rather good. We better not sleepwalk this one! -
Exactly - this has been a very confounding season because of the inconsistency.

it's his 5th team in 5 years--he's not opening playbooks... this dude was the 34th pick in the draft.

Even if we were to beat BAL in the WC round, they're a physical team and I don't like the prospect of then traveling to potentially play the #1 seed coming off of a bye. -
I’ve gotten old and so has Jim! Great to hear he has put the cancer in the rear view mirror.

The Bills are 3rd in yards and 5th in points per game on offense. On defense they are 7th in yards allowed and 13th in points allowed per game. So, I don't know how Fox Sports is doing their own rankings, but that's how they rank with their actual stats.
-
And not only could we have had Pickens in the round 2 of 2022, we could have possibly gotten him for a 3rd this year. The arrogance of Beane/McDermott though prevents us from even looking at guys like him. It's almost as if their priorities are culture first, run blocking 2nd, pass catching skill 3rd. And that's on top of WRs in general being at the absolute bottom of positions they covet.

Protect the football. In 4 losses the Bills have turned the ball over 11 times (NE = 3, Atl = 2, Mia = 3, Hou = 3). That's losing 11 possessions and scoring opportunities and giving the opponent points of turnovers chances. 2 of 4 of the losses were one score games. Lose the turnover battle on the road in the playoffs and its an early off season. -
