My guess is that the Trump administration saw a chance to do what many have privately (and publicly) wanted to do for a long time: neutralize any Iran threat. Russia could've made this difficult, but they're a bit preoccupied right now. (Ukraine war surrender monkeys: think about what would've happened if we'd allowed them to overrun Ukraine in a month.) Hezbollah in Lebanon and whatever Iranian proxy in Syria can't get to Israel now. Houthis in Yemen are a pest but nothing more. Other Islamic world opposition muted because of Saudi hatred of Iran. Hence, the green light - explicit or implicit - for Israel to go ahead. Way, way too soon to tell if this is a good idea. But that's why I'm guessing it happened, and why it happened now.

Back to the subject, I never thought he was a particularly good deal maker. His deals involved negotiating real estate deals. Real estate is a particularly easy deal, because both parties are dealing with an appreciating asset. Thus, it is profitable to both parties to conclude an agreement. I am not aware of him ever getting a tough deal done.

Ridley had over 1k yards in three of the last four seasons and was injured and out for most of the other one. Part of the problem is the "wins against replacement" idea with running backs. How much more does a top RB get you than a good RB. Cook played in 16 games for 1009 yards which is about 63 yards per game. In the game where he did not play, Davis had 97 yards, and, while the Jets defense was not as good as most thought it would be, it is still pretty decent. One game is the smallest of sample sizes and I am not saying Davis would average 97, but how far would he be from Cook's 63? Now, Cook had quite a few runs of over 40 yards and that explosiveness is something we may not see from Davis. That threat is certainly worth something....but how much?

You're spinning hard to justify double standards. No one’s defending looters - what I am saying is that rioting over systemic injustice isn’t the same as storming the Capitol to overturn an election. You’re ranting about EBT and viral videos like they prove some grand conspiracy. Spoiler: they don’t. Anecdotes aren’t policy. And yes, please continue to focus on petty while Trump gives his buddies another tax cut. And yes - coordinated attacks on democracy are a bigger threat to constitutional order than property damage.
