  1. Past hour
  2. Between some of the guys appearing to just go through the motions, and some other flailing desperately about but being completely physically outclassed, yeah, that was tough to watch.
  3. You'd think it be easy to force Russian concessions somewhere. Like say, the middle east, where Russia's whole geopolitical strategy is collapsing. Where's some good old fashioned America First hardball where they can have Donbas so long as they serve up the Tartus naval base or hang the Iranians out to dry? Or agree to withdraw from and destroy all the Wagner bases in Africa? You know, something tangible for all us hard headed realists besides "Stop the killing!" Which is the same crap line we threw out when we were playing World Cop in the 90s (But only for the Balkans and Somalia, and not Rwanda).
  4. I'll take a melody and see, what I can do about it I'll take a simple C and G, and feel brand new about it I understand why the old fisherman Sail along, sail along, sail along Sail along, sail along Someday he'll be gone
  5. You're giving a few instances and then saying "everytime." Despite analytics being available showing he is decent against the run. I didn't say he was a starter. I was saying if you cut him "today" like the OP suggests you better be damn sure A. Someone better is available and B. That person can learn your system in a few weeks.
  6. I saw Ed Rutkowski punting and OJ playing WR , does this count?
  7. Offseason trivia Q of the week: Has any Bill other than Allen worn 17? All i can. think of is Gary Marangi, and not even sure of that
  8. If they wanted him they could have done it last year or at any time this year. But if I was the GM he'd have been here last season. Does he look like he has lost a step or two? Yep. But are we in desperation stakes? Yes. Yes we are. I know it hasn't been a popular view on this board but right know Damar Hamlin is still our second best safety.... and that is bad. Very, very bad.
  9. Simmons I believe is still out there for a safety addition.
  10. He gets beat one on one where the mistakes are his. Yes, Hamlin misses the tackle. Nobody is trying to tell you Damar is good. He isn't. I've been saying this a long time.... like way before the Cincy incident. He is a borderline NFL talent bottom of the roster guy. But I'm sorry I don't agree with "gotta give Bishop more time on the field." Why? He has got to show he belongs on an NFL field at some stage and can avoid these fundamental, basic, mental lapses. If he can't do that he isn't long for this team or, frankly, this league. He is a second round pick. This is year 2. Sure, he has had some really bad luck with injuries in both camps but it is time to show out or get out. The excuses are wearing thin. Know the bleeping playbook and do your bleeping job. And if he can't he doesn't belong on the field. Simple. You simply can't overcome making these sorts of mental mistakes with this regularity in the pros. I will repeat again - he will start - I hope to hell the light switch goes on because at the moment our safety position terrifies me. But it is put up or shut time for Bishop and if he is still making these mistakes 5 or 6 weeks into this season he will be pulled, make no mistake and Damar Hamlin or Cam Lewis who are significantly lesser athletes but can be trusted to play their assignment will be back on the field.
  11. What does immediate impact mean ? I don’t get it… as a kick returner ? As a 3rd down RB ? I thought making immediate impact meant contributing right away in one shape or another.
  12. Carter hasnt been healthy enough but flashed some talent his rookie season. No mention of ray davis or solomon? Cmon bro. Way too early to judge a class, although Bishop looks lost right now and in a redraft we dont take the guy.
  13. I remember getting hyped up for so many bills patriots games only to lose 48–10
  14. Come on man, Bishop got beat one on one where he was suppose to have help from Buffalo Joe inside. Damar missed the tackle that lead to the TD on the same play. Seems no one wants to point that out. Gotta give Bishop more time on the field. Damar sits back and waits for everything to come to him and still there is a 50\50 chance he misses the play. Bishop attacks the play, that timing takes time to learn and it can’t be done on the bench or the film room. Not saying hes gonna get it but he needs more time on the field as of now.
  15. We're talking about immediate impact the year the player is drafted enough to put the Bills over the top in that last playoff game. You're doing a straw man implying I'm saying no rookie will have any impact or be better than expected.
  16. Today
  17. I don’t know if I would call it hot takes, but moreso far too much overreaction. We played our backups against their starters and we had some holes that became apparent such as at Safety. Bishop needs to really ramp up his game if he’s going to make the team. Having injuries in camp or mini camp for his first two years and is performing at a PS level. I can’t fault Beane for his injuries, as he didn’t hurt him. He may end up being a bust. If so, Beane will have to find someone else. Hancock had flashes, so we’ll see in another PS game. He was playing nickel CB, but he’s been moved to Safety. He’s at least someone to watch progress.
  18. I think DeJean was a totally different tier of prospect to Bishop personally. I had a first round grade on DeJean and a 3rd round grade on Bishop. They both went in round 2 in reality but I don't think that makes them comparable in that sense. The question with DeJean is whether he is really a safety. He played nickel for the Eagles last year and I think the reason he slid to day 2 was because some teams struggled to pigeon hole him positionally.
  19. Good call. He was absolutely a guy they liked in that draft - the AJ Epenesa year. We have seen it before where they come back to guys they scouted heavily around the draft when they shake free. His base salary is over $9m though, so the Bills would have to wait for him to be a FA. I don't think they can afford to throw even a 7th round pick at it to jump the queue because they don't have the room to take the contract on.
  20. Top Tier. But my hindsight is 20/20 and I would have loved to have drafted Justin Jefferson instead. Diggs did help Allen get better, no doubt. "Moulds the greatest" ???? . . . How about that Andre Reed fellow, you know, HOF and all? 🤷‍♂️
  21. The inherent ambiguities of English are at play here. I meant "could have" to mean "might have been able to," while you read "could have" to mean "able to." As for being better than Bishop, I don't know for sure, just as I don't know Elam won't end up being better than McDuffie.
  22. For me, I wouldn’t rewrite history as he was a top 5 WR when he came here, and eventually he aged and his drama didn’t help. He’s on the tail end of his career so I hope he can make some plays for NE, as I don’t hate the guy. As an aside, a couple of years ago he was incredibly nice to my sister who was doing her banking in Hamburg. Diggs was in the middle of a commercial, but stopped and spoke to her for several minutes. He didn’t have to be nice, but was just kind to her.
  23. To be fair he was having a great year last year before injury but he was arguably WR3 on that team, definitely WR2 behind Nico Mounds would be an All pro every year with 17 Nico Collins actually reminds me of him and he's top 5 imo with a lesser QB
  24. 3) The tape speaks for itself on the tackle attempt downfield
  25. I don't think the scheme needs a major overhaul. I am interested to look at how the Bills approach 3rd down. The Frazier defense was a very good 3rd down defense and for this scheme - that does not mind giving up yards in return for keeping control of points and making teams go the distance - you have to be good at both getting takeaways AND winning 3rd down and since Frazier left we have gradually got worse on 3rd down. In fairness that also coincided with the drop off in health and reliability of Hyde and Poyer and no less than Bill Belichick used to say were the absolute best in the league at disguising coverages when those two played together. That is big on 3rd down because the QB takes the snap thinking you are in one defense and then by the time the ball hits his hands you are in something else. I think it is the combination of the coordinator changes and the weakness of our safety play that is the heart of the problem more than the fundamentals of the scheme. They HAVE to be better this year.
