I assume OP means putting him in motion as a means to get him the ball, not this kinda thing where he's just trying to occupy defenders to open up space for his teammates. This kind of half-assing when the play isn't designed for you drives me up a wall though.

I think Josh has looked a tad slower this year and I wonder if that and his decisions not to run when it’s clearly open for him to do so are related to an injury of some sort.

The fact that he even came out and said this is a little bit shocking in some ways. Obviously, they are starting to feel the temperature rising amongst the fan base and he feels the need to get out ahead of it because if he doesn't, it's going to be something asked and talked about every week. I mean, depending on how things go, if they don't get better, he'll be continued to be asked about it anyway, but I think he hopes that this will put it to bed. However, there is a big part of me that views this as not shocking whatsoever. McDermott is very protective of his spot and reputation. And the longer he is here without a Super Bowl win, the harder it will be to quiet the critics. I almost feel like he said this in order to lay the groundwork so-to-speak to point at the next "Fall Guy". Whether he wants to admit it or not, we all know he's taken the play calling away from Babich and is calling plays himself now. There's 1 "Fall Guy". And now, he's coming out and giving the dreaded vote of confidence to Brady setting up "Fall Guy #2" just in case things don't get better. I am not sure this season ever gets totally back on the rails, unfortunately. I just think there are too many holes on the team, too many injuries to key players, and just overall scheme issues on both sides of the ball. I still think we make the Playoffs, but as it stands right now, I am pessimistic about our chances at a deep run. And, if we do miss or go out early, there is going to be a lot of finger pointing and this is McDermott's way of pointing the first of those fingers...... Hopefully I'm wrong and they get their crap together, though. I hate wasting years of Allen's prime.

Double dipping would have been nice, seems like we do it on defense often. I was thinking Lagette and Franklin but I was higher on Franklin than anyone. He was just such a smooth runner in and out of breaks, reminded me of a taller Desean Jackson. Franklins biggest negative was he was too thin. Maybe for 90s and early 00s football, today the game is soft.

If Allen said he really wanted McConkey after reviewing the tapes, or Worthy for that matter, that’s who Beane would have gotten for Josh. After trading Diggs, there would have been a lot of pressure to make Josh happy and take his input.

You know when you lead people and his job is much more than my $30 million book of business which is peanuts, but so et8 es you just have to admit privately you made a mistake and move on. Peyton ripped into all pros.. Tom would scream at coaches Tom Brady during his six Super bowl runs with the Patriots was constantly screaming at other players and other coaches... Josh is the most talented player in the NFL and my favorite we don't see that Tom held players accountable on game day

I disagree. If you look at all the QB's that have won a Super Bowl I would guess that the vast majority of them are/were Company Men starting with Tom Brady & Patrick Mahomes. Brady didn't push back on Belicheck until he was well over 40 years old and had won 6 Super Bowls.

I’ve been a Coleman supporter through and through. But if this stuff is true, they need to sit his a__ completely! It’s one thing to be a distraction and produce. It’s another when you’re not doing anything, and have the audacity to half-a__ it as well! But let’s be real, McConkey or Worthy wouldn’t have produced in this offense. Worthy would’ve been used in jet screens only, while McConkey would’ve looked worse than Samuel. No receiver in the league that’s good wants to play in Brady’s scheme, or lack there of!

It's sort of sickening, isn't it? Like KC jumping over us to take McDuffie, leaving Beane to take Elam, or eagerly taking Creed Humphrey when Beane went with Boogie Basham since he had a 32-year old center, or Detroit jumping on Sam LaPorta after Beane chose the fragile Kincaid, and so on. Yes, playing hindsight is unfair, but Beane is accountable for his increasing number of mistakes. I give him credit for Bosa and Hoecht, but it looks like his delusions about the wide receiver position have doomed the season before it hits the halfway point.

If you think Daboll is going to magically make this WR group into some sort of juggernaut, you've lost your mind. Brady is doing a nice job putting points on the board and is still a young up and coming coach. Daboll had his warts too. People seem to forget. I don't see how any coach can make this WR group any better. The problem is talent not coaching. Can't help but think that bringing Daboll here would be a huge mistake. His offense is too hard to learn and would take the rest of the season just to get it going and even then, without the talent, might never happen. Plus the strength of this offense is every single player that isn't a WR.

Imagine being Josh and seeing that news.
