Sierra Foothills replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall
Imagine being a Niners fan after losing Nick Bosa and Fred Warner. Can you decipher this for the general public? -

Fanatic…..therein lies the problem. I’m not the only one who’s been a Bills Fanatic for decades and decades…..46 seasons for me. I have been in Charlotte since 1998. I enjoy watching the Panthers. 2015 was a Great season for them. When they got stomped in the SB…..meh. It didn’t hurt…..not my team. We will never have another JA level QB on the Bills in my lifetime. My eye test told me years ago that we needed a new regime if we were to win it all. They still tell me that. BUT, I’m a Bills Fanatic. I have no choice but to watch and want! ZERO Choice

Week 8 results Pick'em Atlanta, Cincy, SF, and Chicago hurt a lot of people this week. One person, Beanes Jelly Beans, had the best picks with 11 correct. Olddie continues at the top with 81 points. Top 10 is seeing more separation, with 4 points separating #1 from #10. Survivor 6 people knocked out this week, 3 of them picked the Falcons, 3 picked Bengals. 15 people remain. Most popular winning pick was Colts by 10 people. Least popular winning pick was the Chargers, Eagles, Buccaneers, Patriots, and Chiefs with one person each picking them.

A Few Thoughts about the Panthers Game - Community Edition
Sweats replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agreed, however, that's not the style he played at FSU........there are a lot of aspects to his play that needs to be taught to him for the NFL style. His college style was to bullrush CB's/DB's and make a break on the 50/50 balls. He needs to be more of a complete all-around WR to have success in the NFL and that is certainly an aspect that he needs to learn. -
It isn't about optimism or pessimism. It is about tying enjoyment only to championships. That's not a healthy way to consume sports. I want the Bills to win a Superbowl as badly as anybody. But I don't not enjoy regular season wins in case they don't win the Superbowl. You have to enjoy wins in sport. Every single one.

A Few Thoughts about the Panthers Game - Community Edition
ganesh replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
A few other observations * Shaq Thompson had a great came and he played all the 54 snaps. * Bishop over pursued on that run that Hancock had bring down the runner. Otherwise, that would have been a tackle at the LoS * It is still a mystery why Brady is not using Cook or Ty Johnson (arguably the best 3rd down back in the league) in the passing game; especially when he had success with Ray Davis against Atlanta. * The IOL is a mess when it comes to pass protection. Unless that is fixed, I doubt Allen gets a clean pocket to stay and not run for his life. * McDermott also praised him in the post-game locker room speech -

Yup and the disease is incurable and will instantly mutate into VDS or RDS come 2028. Let them go. -
Civil WAR is NIGH. When Does the SHOOTING Start?

You come off as woefully uninformed. Embarrassingly so. https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/APU0000708111 https://tradingeconomics.com/commodity/eggs-us I recall you once broke out “for those who believe in science”. The two links above are for “those who believe in math”. That might leave you out in the cold. -
"No plans" is vastly different from "not."

Worse than Coleman means he doesn’t belong on a NFL roster. Too bad you can’t put Shavers passion, attitude, work ethic into Keon

I never thought I would say this: The chiefs are actually going to come to this game to stop James Cook and dare Allen to throw the ball downfield. This would be the first time, they pay more attention a player not named Josh Allen. This would be the game for Josh to raise above the mediocrity of the past three weeks. The biggest thing this passing game is missing is the rhythm....Too often they are punting the ball away on a 3-and-out. They need to build some rhythm starting with 5 yard passes and then looking for 10-15 yarders before looking for the deep hits. They need to move the chains and keep Mahomes on the sidelines as much as possible.

James Cook wins the Angry Runs scepter against the Panthers
Neo replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
He wasn’t a three down back. I don’t recall seeing too many people saying your next three quotes. I think you’ve dramatized “He’s not elite”, “he’s not worth $15 million”. and “Ray Davis would be an adequate replacement.”. To close, he’s become elite, and good for us. I’m not criticizing the assessments of others at the time they were made. -
My god, do you hear that? It’s Gabe Davis’ music!

Fine, but repeat after me: Gabe is not a WR1 or WR2, Gabe is not a WR1 or WR2... We learned this lesson the hard way, remember? -

It does seem like Olave may be unlikely, but just because the team is saying something doesn't make it a lock to happen - New Orleans has a severe cap and QB problems. I hope Beane isn't gunshy because of the A Cooper somewhat diappointing results, and his prior public comments on the WR room. I would like to see a move for Ridley. -
“There is a season to reap and a season to sow” There is an ebb and flow to every great team, every great career. Watching a bonafide first ballot HOF QB join your team, especially when it isn’t clear that the HOF status is a possibility, is gold. It is a time to be awestruck and giddy. Watching said QB come into his own before your own eyes and lead a team is gold. These are the seasons sports fans dream of. Watching a QB of that caliber be squandered and be saddled with a sub par team and/or coaching feels criminal. Not being overly enthusiastic is within the range of normal human reaction. I always remember the Seinfeld line, “ cockeyed optimist” when I read that people looked at this team, this offseason , and thought they were SB quality. The objective eye test pointed to a middling season. What we couldn’t know was Josh was going to regress/ have a down year( for whatever reason ….him or coaching) . That fact alone feels like a gut punch. Every year doesn’t start from square one. The expectations of each and every team in any sport, and league are based on the previous year(s) outcomes to some degree. That being a factor in the level of enjoyment felt seems perfectly logical.
