Let's take a second to appreciate James Cook
blacklabel replied to Buffalo716's topic in The Stadium Wall
He's been insanely fun to watch this season. Every week I'm like, "welp, he'll probably get slowed down this week" not to the point of like 13 carries for 11 yards or anything, but more like, "he won't be breaking so many runs that go for 7 or more" but then he does. There he goes for 14, 8, 12, 7, 9, like almost every time. His vision is really good and some of the OL guys have talked about how he's really skilled in the way he sets up his blocks. He's shown improvement every year. I remember his first couple of seasons he was a really easy guy to tackle, often going down on first contact. But then he said his prayers and took his vitamins and now he breaks tackles and runs over dudes. -
Tucker/Candace/Fuentes vs MAGA vs Mainstream Conservatives is a major problem. Charlie Kirk was the bridge between those groups (Fuentes aside) And while his death may have spurred some positive movement amongst young people in certain areas for conservatism, Republicans are going to struggle to figure out how to navigate the splintering of these groups.

What team "won" on trade deadline day-2025 edition

The thing is I don't see the Colts being a very good corner away from contending. When the Rams made the trade for Von Miller in season people really thought the Rams just needed a second pass rusher to help Donald and get over the hump. I think you make these splashy in season trades when you are really just a piece away. I'm admittedly not as keen on the Colts roster but I think from most fans are saying they aren't really just a corner away from contending. A very good corner like Sauce will help certainly. But I don't get the sense that this was the last big final piece they needed either. McBeane I think should have added a WR and possibly a back end D-line piece. D-line I can forgive because they only lost two guys longer term there and one in Oliver has a chance to come back. They built depth there and they like what they have. But at WR I can see that being an issue against better defenses and I think they could have likely found a team willing to swap a 3rd for a 5th or 6th for a WR that would help make an impact. But I am also not going to act like the season is over because they didn't do those moves either. -

you left off the part where Spanberger was a great candidate. Very cool that she and Mikie Sherrill are roommates in DC when congress is in session. I think they"ll both be great governors for their respective states and work together when possible. -

My wife has semi-kiddingly suggested we clone one of our dogs, her favorite. But I don't think clones have the same personalities as the original. Or do they? -
Game week thread - Bills at Dolphins

I’m interested to see who fills that role that 55 was playing. I think we unlocked something with this defense and I think it’s way more about the role than the player itself. I can see 58, 42 or 56 taking that over and doing very similar things. I’m excited about our defense for the first time since 2017 -

it happened to the GOP in NC. the republican bench was destroyed in the south during Trump 1.0. NC has never been a red state despite national elections making it look like it. GA is worse. SC is following behind NC, but VA has never been red either. yep -

Sauce Gardner to the Colts for 2 1st round picks (and AD Mitchell)
Call_Of_Ktulu replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
I have Sauce rated as my number 2 CB, he might be the best cover CB as far as being in the WR’s back pocket. Every time I watch him he has such good coverage that the teams don’t even pass towards him. His target rate has to be very low and his time in tight coverage probably leads the NFL. I think the Colts actually got the better end of this trade for a CB that covers like Sauce does. -

Winners: Jets (They got a haul of picks for very good but not great players on big contracts) Eagles (Phillips is a possible difference maker for a defense that needed some pop and all it cost was a 3rd) Bengals (Flacco Deal looms large for them and it was such a relatively cheap deal, their season may not work out but Flacco's giving them a chance) NOLA and Seattle (such a sensible trade between both teams) Losers: Colts and Cowboys (Overpaid for very good but not great players on big contracts) Titans and other rebuilding teams that didn't make trades (I think you lose a big opportunity to get better value for players in season) -

Why was she horrible? Too right wing? Too "weird" (we haven't heard that one for a while) How can someone be a rising star and yet such a bad candidate? Asking those who live in the region and watched it unfold. -

The closely watched races for two of the five seats on the Georgia Public Service Commission had been viewed not only as a referendum on rising electric bills but also as a bellwether for next year’s contests for governor and U.S. Senate. Since 2007, no Democrat has served on the commission, whose members have six-year terms. But the two Democratic candidates tapped into anger over rising electric bills at a time when prices have risen sharply across the country. Over the last two years, the commission has approved six rate increases for Georgia Power, the state’s largest electric provider.

The Jets did very well, but let's not forget that Williams is excellent, and it's a long shot that they will select or sign someone 70% as good. Gardner appears to have regressed somewhat, but he might still be among the top 15%-20% of all cornerbacks, and he'll need to be replaced with a draft pick or a signing. This is a good trade for picks and clearing salary, but the Jets have a LOT of holes to fill, including QB, and the grade on these moves may not be known for a few years. -
Sorry, lets let him get acclimated to one position first.... lol
