  1. Past hour
  2. It was talked about during that season where the intent was to start him but after he took 5 sacks and got forced out of the game at end of 1st half for concussion evaluations. After the game, they felt it was dangerous to put him out there between how bad the OL was looking and Allen holding the ball too long resulting in too many hits and sacks. So they decided to try and hold off putting him out there right away, but NP was never intended to be the season long starter and was never named the season long starter, just that he woud start week 1 in more of an ongoing evaluation of the QB position. The QB room that year actually started with AJ as the "vet", Allen as the future, and NP as the guy really more competing to be a backup. The hope was Allen would be ready early, but if not, the guy to buy some time was supposed to be AJ, but not only did he stink, he got hurt, so that left Allen as the guy they planned to start until he got smashed for an entire half with 5 sacks and the concussion scare. So after NP had a solid 2nd half, they decided it was safer to start NP week 1 and give them more time with Allen to get him ready. And by halftime week 1, NP was so bad they just decided to give Allen another look that 2nd half and after watching the tape they decided Allen was ready enough.
  3. I had to look it up, and was surprised that Kamara is “only” 30. It just feels like he’s been around forever.
  4. Cook has really impressed me with physical running between the tackles this past year. His ball security has also been immensely improved. He may not be a big bruiser, but the kid runs very hard. He's making it very difficult for Davis to get on the field.
  5. the more he is a baby about it, the worse it is going to get. He was now griping about quiet mumbling in the crowd around the green. He needs to ignore the small stuff and play through it.
  6. Home country advantage is one thing. The kind of crap being spewed at him, including yelling as he’s starting his swing, is another. He and his teammates are kicking ass. Hindsight is 20/20 of course but picking Morikawa was a bad move.
  7. If you know a team’s proclivity to steal and how… seems like you already know how to stay a step ahead by using that to take advantage of what they think your team is going to do. That’s the best way to make them think twice about it.
  8. Cook in four rounds, TKO
  9. Rory is such a baby. I don’t get how anyone can like this guy.
  10. Good news! I'm not sure what I did, but I finally got it to work. Going to the game tomorrow and I'll get home the same day. Did I mention how much I love 1:00 games!🥳
  11. Completely different styles of runners and backs Kamara has never had a thousand yard rushing season.. more of a back who has 800 receiving 800 rushing in prime... He's a fluid runner, supreme balance control .. never looks like he's running as fast as he can James Cook is like a poor man's Chris Johnson.. like not 4.2 speed but the same type of explosiveness and vision and getting better at finishing Yeah him and James Cook are completely different styles He's a 800 yd Rushing and 500 yd receiving guy with supreme balance control and ability to shrug off contact .. patient James Cook is like a slower version of Chris Johnson, super explosive very good vision and hits the hole hard and fast
  12. And he’s not nearly as tough a run as Montgomery. Never thought he resembled a power back and now he’s even lighter
  13. We clearly have enough threads showing a very small minority of folks pushing an agenda. Do we need another thread now to document the right? Or does the right think their ***** somehow magically doesn't stink? You do realize I hope the majority of folks on the left and right remain silent while the rest of you try to dictate how we're supposed to be thinking and feeling.
  14. it’s been a while since I have thought much about kamara, as he was injured last year and sort of faded in fantasy. But looking at his career stats, I was stunned to see how much of his game is as a receiver. Not nearly as many rushing yards, but the guy was catching 80 passes per year for several years! The only RB I can think of that had a stretch like that was Marshall Faulk in his Rams years.
  15. QB play yes but the bounces not going his way were kind of on him. The team in 2015 was tied for first in the NFL in penalties. That’s a big red flag for poor coaching. In 2016 they were 10th for most penalties. Theres some luck variance with penalties but if you are in the top 10 in back to back years thats you causing your own bad luck. This board wants to fire everyone when the team is done 7 points in the first quarter. If/when they lose a game it’s gonna be a complete cesspool here.
  16. I like keeping the mileage down on Cook. The perfect scenario would be if Davis developed into the Montgomery to Cook's Gibbs. But it doesn't appear that Davis is emerging.
  17. Ftr- not me! I was down on him after his drop in a big way. But I was also higher on him than pretty much everyone on this board. So after the drop- I just stopped expecting him to become kelce 2.0. Never wanted to trade him for day 3 picks! Throughout the season I had commented on how he was getting open and Josh and him just weren’t on the same page or Josh would throw a bad ball. Which was all confirmed by stats- but disagreed upon by several at the time.
  18. Feel like Cook is now the better back, Kamara maybe lost half a step. Hoping they will start to use Cook more as a weapon catching more passes out of the backfield, too.
  19. Not being able to admit you’re wrong is the first sign of low intelligence.
  20. a lot of that is Lamar imo. Zay is a nice player but he’s closer to a top 30 WR than top 10 to me. I honestly kinda think Henry has lost a bit of a step even from last year. Despite having nearly 170 yards week 1, he’s only fifth in rushing, and he’s averaging a full 30 yards less per game than last year. I think if you remove QB’s, Baltimore’s supporting cast is probably in the top 10-12. You still have teams like the Vikings with JJ and Hock etc etc.
  21. I've always felt that the RB that Cook most resembles in terms of playing style is Alvin Kamara. Obviously, Kamara is bigger than Cook, but they both are a danger to take it to the house either by running it, or catching the ball out of the backfield. I remember reading an article a couple of years ago stating that Cook does model his game after Kamara, so it should be exciting to see how these two guys measure up against each other tomorrow. Quite possibly, this might be the only interesting thing happening in this game.😁
  22. In my defense- I had a hunch that Brown would always be injured. That was my biggest issue with brown. His feet were next up. Physically- I thought the sky was the limit, but didn’t want to roll the dice on him becoming Josh Allen 2.0 while also stating healthy. The decks were stacked against him imo- he overcame
