Steely Dan
It's at least plausible. Barnes just got cut; BB.com just re-did their webpage; could have been a simple mistake. It would be nice to know when the change was made on bb.com. Excellent point!
The Dean
What he said. I would rather see JP go than Jackson and I think he'd be worth more. A QB coming to a team, at this time of year, is worth about zero. A RB can play the day after he gets to the team.
bladiebla
This is one big trade! My new working theory is, the guy at the Bills' website is drunk/high/pissed off/last day at work, and is having fun jerking our chains on bb.com, and wiki. That bastard! Website most likely has a leak that's being exploited.
Miyagi-Do Karate
Jason peters is also off the depth chart! But he's still on the roster page, unlike jackson.
Steely Dan
Why was mackey7789 looking at this stuff anyway? He just happened to go to the website and "notice" Jackson wasn't on the roster and then went to Wiki and found that? Methinks our chains are being pulled. deep2evans
Is his value to you simply "back-up RB"? I agree with your logic, but Jackson is clearly a play maker with a game-changing potential. We have Marshawn Lynch, enough said. If we had a fringe starter who split carries with a guy like Freddy, it would be a different story. But Marshawn is a workhorse who can pound it 20+ times no problem. I get this feeling that people are getting a little discouraged with him for some reason because he hasn't put up Michael Turner like numbers, but he and O-line will eventually get it going, which is why Jackson's value isn't quite as high as we think. Lori
Jason peters is also off the depth chart! And Langston Walker is now listed as the starter at both RT and LT. Hmmm. Although interesting things do seem to be afoot, maybe said depth chart isn't all that trustworthy. Just a thought.

Have you seen what KC calls a starting QB? It would be dependent on JP agreeing to a long term contract but if they truly are doing this then they don't give a crap about this year. billsguy512
gotta be an issue with the new website format...fred the head isn't on there and neither is Jason Peters...Although I wouldn't mind seeing Peters out for TG, I love Fred and think we'll be in a good position to re sign him at the end of the year

I seem to remember the depth chart being off or late to register things in other years. The roster, I'm not so sure. That said, I'd be very surprised if this was true. Why on earth would anyone change the roster and depth chart before it was announced?

jwolf02
Jesus H Christ, cmon guy. Jackson behind only Edwards? How about Evans who was first in the AFC in yards coming into this week? Listen I love Freddy Jackson, and he's a helluva back-up running back. He may even become a solid starter someday. But if we could swap our back-up RB for Tony frigging Gonzalez, you pull the trigger. Look, Evans has been great, but this is just a matter of opinion. Maybe I am biased. But Jackson has returned punts, lead blocked on kick returns, has gotten a ton more touches than Evans, and been a huge spark plug when Lynch needs a blow. Think back to the Jacksonville game and some of those screen passes he had no business breaking for key first downs. So, IMO, I wouldn't trade Jackson for an aging TG, let alone FJ and a third. I still show Peters on the roster but you're right about Walker being listed at both spots. What the hell is going on here. This is, at least, a very interesting set of coincidence's. I looked at it a few days ago, and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. Of course, I wasn't really looking for anything out of the ordinary. TheChimp
Pretty sure Freddie Jackson has the most YAC on the club. He makes plays, so far, more often than anyone on the offense. The Bills, IMO, will be reluctant to even give up a DRAFT PICK for an aging TE with GAZILLIONS in guaranteed money the next three years , so again, IMO, they'd be even more reluctant to give up one of their best all-around offensive stars for him. Sounds like total bull sh-- to me.

TheChimp
The Bills would be stupid as sh-- to grab Gonzales at his inflated pricetag after this season. Especially seeing that they need help with BLOCKING, not catching, from the TE position (and every other offensive position, in fact). So, if it IS true, it would be the first stupid thing Marv has done since coming back (through Modrak now, of course, for you purists).

What happens if Fred Jackson gets hurt? What I do know is that this team is close, and the NFL is fickle. Adding TG could create a whole new dimension to our offense, and a hell of a check down option for Trent. I always thought that good drafting/scouting led to good depth. And once you have some good depth, you can swap that for areas that need major improvement. Again, I really love Freddy. But I'm definately OK with a little more Marshawn, a little more Omon, and inserting TG into our offense.

TheChimp
If the Bills are trading for TG, hopefully it's only to immediately dish him to a team for a killer DE or LT. He would be another threat on any down to gain 5-10 yards and he would definatley add another solid target who can catch in the redzone..He doesnt hurt us at all..I wouldnt worry about his salary cap..They have plenty of cap room...
