gobills1212 Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago (edited) Man... how can someone be mad about a former SB champ at a depth signing?! I get it doesnt help the pass rush or catching passes (from Allen) but now people wanna come to Buffalo for a chance. Take it for what it is rather than complaining its not a fictional WR/DE that doesnt exist at this stage of the season. Some of you are acting like Beane had a choice of Jefferson or Chase and chose Slay instead. Then people are still acting like its a novel joke that hasnt already been made 50x in the previous 8 pages...Yikes Edited 16 hours ago by gobills1212 2 Quote

It was a decision the Bills made believing he is an upgrade over Ingram. Nothing more than that 1 1 Quote

I think they might think he's an exceptional scheme fit. This is what I believe as well He is a man corner with diminishing skills, but that might make him a good fit potentially in a scheme that doesn't play man as much Quote
gtw3 Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago How many years have we gone into the playoffs and been down or immediately lost one of our DBs or starting defensive players. I see no problem with bringing in a seasoned vet to provide quality depth. Maybe if we made a move like this in previous years we wouldn't have had to suffer through seeing Elam or Dane Jackson out there in the biggest game. 2 Quote
Chicken Boo Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago What's the over/under on a halftime retirement? 3 Quote
Buffalo Ballin Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago He better not retire during half time. Despite that, this is a good signing late in the season. He's healthy. He's in game shape. We need help at defense anyway we can get it. Quote

ScotSHO Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago This is an indication that we'll need to play more man to man on the back end because we're sending 5-6 people more often. Growing up a Jerry Glanville fan - I LOVE IT. Send the house, speed up the game, every play. But no Elvis tickets are required. Quote

Slay may be way past his prime but he's an improvement. Nothing to complain about with this move. He costs $350K against our cap and upgrades the depth, even if only slightly. $350k is what Einstein made last week. 2 Quote

Apparently, he’s a poor man’s version of Hoecht. At least he played the Hoecht role in LA before Hoecht. Seems like something worth trying. I am assuming he will be elevated this week from the practice squad. 1 Quote

Douglas on 1 leg. Benford concussed. there’s a chance Slay is rejuvinated here and makes a big difference when it matters. Slay is a player who can absolutely be physical with a WR and that is usually how the playoffs go. 2 1 Quote

Herc11 Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago People said Randy Moss was washed when he was on the Raiders too. Sometimes players just don't fit in a system. Philly wanted him back and they know him well. With Tre on his absolute last leg, Slay should be some much needed depth that might fit in McDermott's defense well. Quote

The complaining is a microcosm of Beane's roster construction, Cap nightmare, contract extensions, various acquisitions, etc...Its not just about one move. Hope that helps you understand the mindset of many frustrated Bills fans. 1 1 Quote
