ShakAttack Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Assuming he catches the ball in-bounds and the Bills punch it in for a TD... That would HAVE to rank at or near the top of Allen's most memorable game winning drives, right?? That catch happens and a lot of the narratives today are flat out erased and/or minimized because the dominating narrative would be stuff like "no matter how ugly it is, the Bills will always have a chance because they have Josh Allen" I don't typically agree with stuff that Dion Dawkins says, but he was right when he said "it's a game of inches" and mentioned the Davis play. I realize this is another hindsight post, but it has always been fascinating to me, how such small margins will dictate perception and outlook. If the Bills win, the Bills defense is still poor and decimated by injuries, the offense is still an inconsistent mess, and yet, you wouldn't be hearing nearly as much about it... if Gabe Davis got a second foot in-bounds. For me, personally, that play is the first thing that comes to mind when I reflect on last night's game. What an unfortunate wasted opportunity. That truly would have made this another one of Allen's memorable moments and it would have made that 4th and 27 conversion even more special. 1 Quote
NoSaint Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Hard disagree. the defenders would be out a little louder but it was an ugly game that underscored the known issue which the GM chastised fans for commenting on 1 Quote
Success Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I didn't think that play was that close until I saw the replay. Josh really is incredible. Nice catch by Gabe, too. It would have fooled all of us, though. We would have talked ourselves into the idea that we can pull it out anytime, and further ignored the major flaws in this team. 1 Quote
ngbills Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago It ranks as luck more than anything else. Exciting Bills drive but not anything special in terms of Allen. Quote
Einstein Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Agree. If Gabe had caught that, this game goes down as “Allen magic” once again. Instead you have Allen haters coming out of the woodwork. 1 1 1 Quote
SCBills Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago (edited) Hard to really say that “no matter how ugly it is, Bills have a chance with Allen” because we keep coming up short in big moments on potential game winning drives. I don’t really blame Allen. Every time it seems he’s let down by those around him or his OC get smoked by the opposing DC. Dawkins got beat by Chris Jones to take a TD off the board to Shakir in the KC Playoff Game. Bass misses the game tying kick. Game over. Spags give us a look we hadn’t seen before, free rusher, Allen gets it to Kincaid who can’t pull it in. Game over. Fact is, Gabe didn’t come down in-bounds. Close doesn’t matter. Dawkins false start takes it from 4th and 1 to 4th and 6. Texans able to dial up pressure now. Brady’s predictable and unimaginative mesh route fails. Game over. SoCal Deek Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago The same “what if” could be explored if the refs had called the utterly obvious unnecessary roughness penalty at the end of Shakir’s hook and ladder run. He was WAY out of bounds when the Texan defender hit him. That extra fifteen yards would have put the Bills deep in Houston territory. 1 Quote

So many more bigger problems. Quote
The Jokeman Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago And What IF Prater makes the extra point. And we score FG in last drive. Momentum certainly felt on our side and likely win in OT. 1 Quote

Gunsgoodtime Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago If he somehow pulled it in, at the end of the season it wouldn't matter anyways, the results would be similar. This team has major problems. Think about it, the only position groups we have that would be considered good is QB, and RB. The list ends there Quote

Aussie Joe Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago After the 4th and 27 play … they were on the Texans 26 with 41 second left …would you have signed up for that at halftime ? At that stage I was more worried about scoring a TD and leaving too much time on the clock …we know it doesn’t take much … Quote

Because the way his foot was out of bounds it looked like his toes may have been in bounds first but you couldn't tell them from the back angle they had Quote

The one that wasn’t called ? They aren’t calling that on the road ..possible exception if it’s the Chiefs 1 1 Quote
