I said before the game to put Gabe / Shavers opposite Palmer and it should stay that way.  However, i do think Keon as a redzone guy could pay big. Just a matter of who and how many do you suit up on gameday.

Yep. Additional by subtraction. The passing game looked like a different animal yesterday. IDC about Tampa’s bad pass defense. The Fins & Falcons both stifled Allen and they aren’t exactly world beaters.

Yikes.  I want to be wrong and I just got new glasses so maybe I am because what I see so far is a jag.  Not fast, not quick, average route runner, good size and physicality.  After not being drafted and toiling on the PS for 2 years, he made the 53 this year which suggests coachability and a good work ethic. 

 

Put all that together and I'm rooting for the kid, but I don't see him as a HOF Stallworth comp.  Though I wouldn't mind him taking more snaps away from Coleman.

Lol. Don't think he belongs on the WOF yet, but he's showed some nice things when given an opportunity.  I noticed he ran a slick little route against Miami last week too on the end zone interception.  It was just a bad ball by Allen.

Shavers is not at all sudden or twitchy.  He was getting opportunities because the Buccaneers left a backup cornerback on an island with him.  If defenses make a point of trying to take him out of the game, I think he'll probably disappear.  Kudos to Shavers for taking advantage.  He showed he can be effective in making a defense a little more honest in their coverage schemes.

This is a great point. I did post one route where he blew past McCollum for the bucs on just a basic deep pattern. It's just one play tho. But the higher end traits look like they're there

I’m 51 and I wrote a book on Fantasy Sports… I really don’t remember people playing fantasy football when John Stallworth was playing. 
if you were doing it, you were definitely a pioneer.

Kelly, that’s a high bar as Stallworth was amazing.  That was my early years as a fan in the late 70’s.  I truly hope we found a gem..
