Which goes to show how poorly built this core is. The problem now is that we needed them plus Kincaid, our clear top option downfield, is down with a hamstring. So even when we get those guys in - it's one step forward, one step back. I feel like when those 2 come back healthy it’s going to have a Hoecht like effect on the passing game. We need experienced vets in there that know what to do especially when things break down. Quote

I think he’s got something to prove after the whole Jax fiasco. Bills are 6-3, I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt after a rough Chiefs game, but their stock has taken a hit after this game. Time to throw ***** at the wall and see if it sticks. 😂😂If Gabe Davis is the answer you need to be asking different questions 1 1 2 Quote

They can't provide less than 2/3 of Samuel, Shavers, and Moore (who they'll be replacing). But we had Palmer in this lineup and still had issues getting open. If we still had Kincaid on the field and added Palmer and Davis, i'd feel like that's a better situation. Still wasn't going to light the world on fire or have a "Hoecht like effect" on the Offense. But we'd be able to do more and possibly move from a passing game akin to eating out of a dumpster to getting fast food. But Palmer and Davis minus Kincaid? I think we're pretty much back to square one. Would love to be wrong, but Kincaid was our top passing option and the only guy who could get open with any sort of small consistency. Quote
Bruffalo Posted yesterday at 02:57 AM Posted yesterday at 02:57 AM Gabe Davis coming back is Duke Williams 2.0. Nobody is going to change my mind on that. 1 1 Quote
transplantbillsfan Posted yesterday at 07:22 AM Posted yesterday at 07:22 AM Sadly, this is true. He always excelled in the scramble drill Quote

Most of us remember having to be on a little team, where the coaches bosses kid had to pitch, and every kid knew they were going to lose. Well we have seen McD sit a top pick at corner because he was not getting it together, you have to do what is best for the team. Beane deserves his flowers for the gems he has found in the draft, but he has had a lot of early round whiffs too. I was a bit worried that Elam would transform into a stud somewhere else.... From a recent news article, "Cowboys' decision to trade for Kaiir Elam has backfired spectacularly. A bad player playing poorly every week? Who could've seen this coming? Elam's coverage is a problem in and of itself, but I'm not sure I've seen a cornerback display worse run fits than Elam did against the Broncos. It's baffling he's made it to this point as a football player with how allergic he is to tackling. He finished the game with a 27.4 run-defense grade, per PFF. While the defensive line and linebackers had a brutal day at the office, Elam was also responsible for multiple big runs simply because he took the wrong angle. He doesn't belong on the field, but the Cowboys also didn't have any alternatives." Quote
BillMafia716ix Posted yesterday at 08:59 AM Posted yesterday at 08:59 AM If Gabe is healthy he can give us more than what Coleman is giving us right now. At least he has history and chemistry with Josh. We desperately need Palmer back Quote
racketmaster Posted yesterday at 12:41 PM Posted yesterday at 12:41 PM Fans could not wait to see Gabe Davis gone when he left for the Jags and now I’m supposed to believe he is the savior coming off an ACL injury. We have better receiving options on the team but don’t use them properly and JA is not playing well. They have focused so much energy on the run game that the passing attack seems to exist only when we are desperate and playing from behind. The passing game looks like they don’t practice it very much because that is probably the case. Samuel, Moore, Palmer are all on pace to have career or near career lows. This is not a coincidence as our focus is almost entirely on the RBs and TEs Quote
Blackbeard Posted yesterday at 12:54 PM Posted yesterday at 12:54 PM I would get Davis healthy (hopefully he’s close) and send him and Palmer deep. Quote

Honestly, we have an oc with no success prior to having Allen, and we have a dc with just no success. They don't have the experience or knowledge to adjust on the fly. They can script stuff up w the talent we have for opening drives and stuff, but when the game is dynamic if it doesn't go their way they can't bring it back. I think MCD has this team built in his image and this is what it is. There is no mad man Kevin gilrbide of who will fight for what he says is how the o needs to be, there is no wink Martindale dc who will get into a fist fight to support their cause, we have kromer who is a stud, and then people who can script up what MCD wants well, and then they kinda hope it keeps working the rest of the game 1 Quote

Not what is best for the team. Quote

Davis will go in there and school these young guys on how to run fades and come back routes. The current WRs have absolutely no clue what to do when it comes to a scramble drill. How many plays did Allen buy 5-6 seconds of time and STILL nobody could get open ? No, he won’t solve all the issues, but I think Davis could at least provide a spark to this pile of dog ***** Joe Brady calls an offense. Or they can just lay down and die like i’m sure a lot of posters would like so they can claim to be right. I thought Davis was one of the least qb friendly receivers I’ve recently watched not that I’m frequently monitoring the metric but Quote

Here's another perspective. Davis and Shakir are BOTH better receivers than Keon Coleman despite the fact they were drafted much later in the draft than Coleman, who came out of a STACKED receiver class, of which Ladd McConkey was the very next player selected after him. Unbelievable. Quote
