Yeah you can’t have a closeted(not so much) sexual deviant playing grab a$$ in an NFL locker room, I know society has come a long way in acceptance for all but the NFL isn’t the place lol.

You ever been around dudes from the Marine Corps lol and they carry literal guns

I refuse to believe he crossed the line into full S.A./r-word because hes alive. Not kidding when I say I think a man doing that would be literally killed in a lockeroom... I dont care how much they've mellowed out over the years

Yeah nobody is killing anyone in an NFL locker room for being a creepy sexual nut grabber… but they definitely had him removed from the building immediately and permanently lol.

I was in the Corps from 97 to 04, and the policy during those years was don't ask, don't tell. That being said, when your deployed or during a lot of training exercises it gets very intimate. You better be comfortable with open showers and open *hitters.

That being said, it's totally different than the Chrsitian Wilkins situation. Dude is a known violator on National TV. God only knows how far he's willing to push the envelope behind closed doors. I'm sure at this point players know, and his bizarre release from the Raiders speaks volumes.

He certainly did not r*** anyone but he definitely is a serial line stepper and groper going back to college

In an NFL locker room with all alpha males it was prolly kinda funny at first cus they thought it was a joke but then they realized it's who he is

This team is about CULTURE over CHAMPIONSHIP hoping that turns into a championship.  If they weren't, we'd have a completely different roster. Between this and the "trade for this guy" discussions it's like some of you don't even pay attention to the team.  They've told us what kind of team that want in the building over and over and over again and y'all don't listen.

We don't even know what happened but ill be the first to say, from what we know, I don't think it's all that bad to be fretting over.

Some grab ass? Sexual passes at players maybe? Nobody is going to be a classic victim here lol meaning 52 to 1 beat down if the situation called for it. Id be more worried hiring him for a Job at CVS, seriously. I dunno what were talking about in an NFL lockeroom, they can police themselves

Especially in the league thats employed some of the most heinous scumbags known to man lol the only real concern is:

1. health and what kinda shape hes in & can be in... his mental space i.e. is he hallucinating voices? Is he hungry? Do we have to worry about him snapping and killing people? We dont really know what the deal is

2. Is he smart enough to learn a playbook quick

3. Whats a minimum deal look like for this situation

4. Is he on drugs? Like the real ones?

There's 3months here, if dude cant stay outta trouble for 3mos, then hes dumber than even the Antonio Browns of the league. Seems highly unlikely.

The type of deal here does not stop you from trading for a WR or other position that isn't on DL

First off, whatever we've heard is clearly just what was willing to be corroborated and likely just the tip of the iceberg. And if you think the Raiders didn't give him other chances and he wasn't aware he was on thin ice already (which would be the situation he'd be in here) before he continued to be an idiot and they decided it was better to eat 48 million dollars just to get him out of the building - I've got a bridge to sell you.

And the issues with Wilkins don't just end with the things he would do on the field and in the locker room that made everyone uncomfortable. He also outright refused to follow what was asked of him by the team in injury rehabilitation and did whatever he wanted.

The bottom line is there are 31 other teams in the league. Most of them would either kill to add his kind of talent or outright need DT's bc of injury. And not a single one has so much as brought him in for a visit. This really says all that needs to be said.

You make it sound as if every player who's career is on the line like his is always smart enough to realize that and change their ways. That's not true. There's been a number of players that were just flat out as dumb as you say he can't be and floundered their 2nd and 3rd chances. Mental Illness and/or Drug Addiction will do that. And likely with Wilkins, there's at least one, if not both at play with his erratic behavior.

And ultimately, my stance was that the "no risk!" point OP made is categorically incorrect. We aren't in a situation at DT where we can take chances. A no risk signing is one where if we have to walk away from them, we're still in good shape bc we weren't relying on them. That's not the case with us at DT. We need someone we can rely on. Bc if it doesn't work out with Wilkins, the trade deadline has passed and we're back to square one. That's a huge risk in and of itself in the position we're in right now.

It's not a case of listening or not. It's a case where "the process" has been in place for 8 to 9 years and in its current form some believe it might not be capable of producing the objective to reach and win the SB. So some adjustments to the process and culture might be a good idea. I'm not saying to stretch it to the point of Wilkins because he sounds like a nut job.

Really not interested but if Josh said he’s cool with it I’d be fine I guess

People in here saying Josh would literally risk his life to win a Chip at one point, and it was /may be true.

Obv hes a family man now, so maybe not, but thats hyperbole we don't have to worry about.

But to me, if you asked Josh if he could get over the beef, because it could help get us over the hump. I think unquestionably Josh says yes, and is one of the first dudes from our team to reach out and welcome him in.

Its kinda nuts to think anything differently!

This is one of those few times the GM should consult with players even beyond the franchise QB.

Get Josh and the OL together, and if they are ok with it, then there you go. If there is a single "no" vote, then it's a no.

I hated Marchand until he was traded to my Florida Panthers and helped them win a cup. Just sayin

Decent point, but Wilkins is no Marchand.

Agreed. I just cant see many players caring enough about it to turn their nose up at a chance to get over the hump. I get its not all rainbows and unicorns, but I have a hard time imagining the lockeroom here being so against it, they veto him signing a deal.

I think **if**they believe it helps them, its a non issue. Maybe they think he doesn't move the needle for them, and thats a different story all together. But if he helps, I think lockeroom let's it go in pursuit of the real prize.

Id imagine the team is salivating at what they were able to do to Mahomes Sunday... and they've all seen the TB/KC SB, as well as PHI/KC SB. that feeling had to hit like crackkkkkkk!!!

Read up on what Charles Haley used to do to guys in the locker room, and he's still alive and somehow beloved.

I don’t care if he’s a shoe-in, first ballot HOFer, he is not a fit for this team. Or most other teams from the looks of it.

I don’t think it’s nuts at all to think that he might not want a dude that may actually have serious mental issues on the team to create a disruptive environment, but this is all just subjective. Obviously something is up since no one has signed him yet.

Yeah this behavior would be too far to be an acceptable add to the team. The whole thing sounds like cocaine behavior. Im genuinely shocked he wasn't beaten (no pun intended) into a hospital bed.

If this is exactly what CW was doing, I have a hard time imagining he wouldn't have been beaten into a coma. I could be wrong, if Haley wasn't in the 80's, I guess its possible Watson wasn't in 2025. Its unimaginable to picture any team having that kind of restraint.

Pure speculation, but I cant even remotely imagine CW's was on par with Haley.  Haley doing this in 2025 would lead almost certainly land him in jail or hospital (rightfully so). I dont think any team let alone Raiders could've swept this under the rug, at the same time all 53 on that roster have kept it from leaking.

If its that bad, its a no from me, and id imagine the whole franchise... id be shocked if it was anything in the same ballpark.
