He could have just totally chased down Kermit and slammed him like Miss Piggy. Then all of a sudden stops and starts running back. Totally think he was dumbfounded by not being blocked whatsoever, and thought it was a ***** up and vacated. Yeah he looked lost on the play, maybe thinking screen and was looking to blow it up 19 hours ago, PepeSilvia said: An Andy dalton led Carolina panthers 40-9 resignates with you? oldmanfan Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago My understanding is there was confusion on the defensive set up which is why McD called the TO. And Mahomes then made a Mahomsean play that was helped by Bernard sloughing off coverage. Let’s imagine if he does not call the TO, guys are running around like it’s a Chinese fire drill, and they make the first down, or even score. People would be here beeyatching about not calling a TO. 1 Quote

I would personally never get mad at McDermott for not calling a timeout. Its time for him to switch it up and stop calling these 3rd or 4th down timeouts , as it seems like it burns them way more often than not. 1 Quote
Big Turk Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago I'm still wondering WTF Bernard was doing on the play...nobody should have been open but Bernard inexplicably drops his coverage and turns to help with a player being double teamed leaving Rice to run wide open thru the area he was in 1 Quote
Goin Breakdown Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago They talked about the 4 and 17 play this morning on WGR. It was a designed to make it look like a quick pass screen was going in one direction, they left Bosa open on purpose to confuse him and he Bit on it thinking he left his man unblocked (or something along those lines. That gave them time to go deep. I don't get it all but smarter people said it was a great design by KC. Quote

Yeah, he should’ve kept running, would’ve disrupted the play at the very least. For those of us old enough to remember it was the same instinct that got Jeff White a tip on and Elway pass in the AFC CHAMPIONSHIP game . I believe it was Carlton Bailey who got the pick 6? Anyhow, I don’t gig Bosa for that at all. He thought he recognized a screen ( imo) and backed off. If McClappy had’t called the TO. It never would have happened. We had the previous plays receiver double covered. 1 Quote

I remember Lawrence Taylor saying when he wasn’t sure about something, whether it was his responsibility in the playcall or something else, he would just go 100 miles an hour to blow up whatever he could. Said if you’re going to make a mistake, play fast while you’re doing it, not tentatively. Bosa could’ve used that advice there. 1 1 Quote

It’s the fact that McD wasted a timeout to draw up a play and the receiver was still WIDE open in the middle of the field. What was the purpose of using a timeout mid game when the Chiefs were kicking a FG? Did they not have the right number of players on the field? 8 hours ago, oldmanfan said: My understanding is there was confusion on the defensive set up which is why McD called the TO. On one of the timeouts, a teammate kept telling Jordan Phillips to move and he was going back and forth. You’d think he’d know this defense by now. On the other there was a lot more moving around and pointing by several players. It definitely was chaos. Quote

Generally speaking you look for their best players and that would be Kelce and Rice. Someone did not keep up with Rice which leads me to believe it is a zone defense call and someone just jumped the wrong guy. Now it is 4th and 17 so a long developing play. Bosa hesitated and thought it might be a screen. Mistake #2. I feel like they kind of learned from it in the last play where they know it is a hail mary but went after Mahomes, forcing him to not set for that last throw, way short of the end zone (had a Chiefs caught the ball, it would not matter either). I would dial up the blitz on 4th 17 instead of rushing 3, getting Hirston back there on Worthy. On 11/2/2025 at 6:17 PM, ControllerOfPlanetX said: Plays like this make me think the game is fixed. It made for great television and a compelling finish. The last 2 minutes in Cincinnati were also great television and a compelling finish. Bad defense though. I don’t know who that defender was that did a shoulder bump on Chicago’s Loveland, but if I was the coach, he’d have been cut today. Plus, there were 4 other Bengals there. Quote
ganesh Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Since the TE did't block him, he kinda got surprised...may be he thought Mahomes was going to drop one over him to the releasing TE. Baffled. Quote

When you get a clean release, almost every time it’s a screen. You are taught from HS football to back off QB and cover behind you. Well designed play bought Kermit time, and then Terrell left Rice wide open. That ***** up is on #8, not Bosa 1 Quote
Pete Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Rapp forgot how to play Safety. Terrell is forgetting how to play LB. Both used to be very good players. Used to be. 1 Quote
