This is also a good chance to remind people, that even if the Bills make zero trades, that doesn't mean Beane wasn't on the phone attempting to make a move or three. It just means no deals were struck. I have confidence Beane and company are shopping as much as possible. But after looking around, the shelves may just be bare. I am not giving Beane his standard excuse this year. We see trades being made every year and we give him a pass with some excuse. But not this year. 3 hours ago, Pete said: Shakir is the only one who seems to be able to be available. Bills WR room is one of the worst in the NFL, if not the worst. It’s bottom 5 definitely You aren't wrong but don't you get tired of saying the same thing a million times in every thread you post in? Think something else and post it. 1 Quote

One would hope he can generate more separation than Keon Coleman Another reason to go after Shaheed is that he is a good punt returner who averages 13.3 yards per return. Codrington is a waste of a roster spot as can't play CB in a real game. 1 Quote

Livinginthepast Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago If you are getting a defensive replacement for Oliver it still may have an impact but I fear that any weapon we might get on offense is going to be neutralized by Brady's inability to use him. The person in question would have to be elite and develop quick chemistry with Josh. Such a player seems to be unavailable and we cant afford unless Beane trades high picks. Quote

Kincaid, Shakir and Josh Palmer say hi. Yeah, we get it, no true #1 WRs there, but those are absolutely three weapons. I still don't get how people defend this, Shakir is his truly only weapon right now which they spent a 5th round pick on and all those other guys you mentioned are jags (Kincaid may be another weapon but it's hard to tell since he's always injured and his 1st 100 yard game in going on season 3). Yeah,I have always gotten the feeling that other GMs roll their eyes when the see him calling. Like, they know he's going to make an offer and seriously low ball them. He was the kid in the lunchroom trying to trade is bologna sandwich for 2 cupcakes and 3 chocolate milks to be named later Quote

I guess Beane is so poor at drafting that the 3rd round pick for 20 catches is a wash anyway. Quote

Would have to open up rosters and you’d probably get pseudo-load management throughout the season. I think 18, with 2 bye weeks and 2 preseason games is the sweet spot. Quote
Process Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago It's always a bad year to be buyers at the trade deadline..... Ideally, your team gets built properly in the off-season 1 Quote

We used to say this about Darcy Regier all the time, but I don't think this is true of Brandon Beane. He probably overpaid for both Amari Cooper and Rasul Douglas, and he definitely overpaid for Diggs and Hines. I have my problems with Beane (resigning marginal players he drafted. and not giving us anything fun to watch) but this is not one of them. 7 minutes ago, Process said: It's always a bad year to be buyers at the trade deadline..... Ideally, your team gets built properly in the off-season And yet most contenders wheel and deal during the season. The Chiefs added Hopkins during the season last year, and the Eagles are always making moves. But you always have to pay more in-season. That much is true in every sport. Quote

PRAYING...for Beane to make some moves in the next week and shore up our WR and Safety spot. And now after losing Big Ed yesterday, possibly the DT spot. I mean, overpay at this point if you have to. Do SOMETHING. But glancing around the NFL at the teams with records that would normally be "sellers" this time of year shows that there may not be teams willing to move players. In the AFC the bottom feeders are: - The Jets and Dolphins. I really don't see either team lining up to trade anyone of value to a division rival. Yes, teams do at times trade within the division. But it's very unlikely they would send us a Waddle or Wilson at the WR spot to have to face them twice a year. - Cleveland. This is a team that should be selling whatever it can. Jerry Jeudy has a big dead cap hit if they move him. - Cincinnati and Baltimore. Both teams have talked themselves into still being in it. Baltimore may have a shot. I think Cincinnati is fooling themselves thinking they can make it til Burrow comes back. But neither team is a big seller right now. - Raiders. Possibly the only team really looking to move a WR, and that's not 100%. Supply and demand have a big gap this year, so them getting a haul for Jakobi Meyers isn't out of the question. - Tennessee. They have begun moving players, sending McCreary to the Rams. They have been firm that DT Simmons is NOT available. Trouble is they don't have much else. Calvin Ridley has been hurt. Looking at the NFC, It doesn't get better. Giants- probably should be selling but both Schoen and Daboll are probably fighting for their jobs. Now with losing Skattabo a long with Malik earlier in the year, it doesn't look good for them. Saints- Have reportedly told teams Olave is staying put. But they are a cupboard that can and probably will be raided. One of Shaheed or Cooks are probably on the move. Cardinals - Another team that should be selling what they can. Problem is aside from maybe Budda Baker...what else do they have? I don't see them moving Harrison, and their next best receiver is probably Zay Jones. Yes, that Zay Jones. Is there another team out there that should be selling? Probably the Vikings, but I think they land in the same camp the Ravens and Bengals are with the whole "fake it til we make it" outlook. All in all, I expect this to be a pretty quiet week leading up to the trade deadline for all teams. The buyers definitely out number the sellers. This is also a good chance to remind people, that even if the Bills make zero trades, that doesn't mean Beane wasn't on the phone attempting to make a move or three. Oh and signing free agent DT Larry Ogunjobi who missed 6 games for PED's. it's nobody's faul carter, sanders and oliver are hurt. this team is just cursed with injuries to its defense. If all those guys were healthy it would be a pretty damn good group lining up every week. Of course though they are all hurt. Quote
