Ok.  I’ll take each of these on.  GMs are not Nostradamus.  We had plenty of depth on the D line starting the season but now we have had 4 DTs go down to injury and a hybrid DE/DT lost for the season yesterday.  No GM can anticipate such; all you can do at that point is fill in as best you can which he has done.

 

Now CB.  We have a better corner than Tre.  Hairston.  A first round pick who unfortunately got hurt but yesterday showed why he went round 1.  Is there any doubt going forward he will play more than Tre?

 

As for WR they brought in Palmer and Moore.  Palmer, as with the examples above, got hurt.  Moore has not been a revelation but made a big catch yesterday and Palmer made a few before he got hurt.  Brady has a balanced offense going with Cook a premier rusher, and Shakir and Kincaid the main receiving threats.  And from all accounts Beane has been working the phones for another WR.

 

So the arguments about a WR have some validity, while your others do not unless you believe GMs should be Nostradamus.

Have not heard anything regarding Marvin Harrison, but anyone think he may be available after tonight’s game? They certainly don’t know how to utilize him in Arizona. I highly doubt Arizona moves him, but he must be extremely frustrated.

Think that was a thought prior to the Seattle game, then he lit it up the second half of that game and seemingly looked to bounce back. The last two games though? Yeah, he looks like an afterthought sometimes.

I was wondering the same thing a few weeks back -- when he and Murray did not appear to be getting along. MHJ was complaining about not getting enough looks and Murray said something to the effect, "I throw to the open guy".

Rashid Shaheed really should be a Bill by tomorrow. His contract is manageable and would provide a vertical outside element to our passing game. In addition to that, there is immediately a roster spot for him as he would take Coddringtons spot as punt returner. He was an all pro there in 2023, currently the Bill with the best punt return average is Keon with 6 yards per return which is 43rd in the NFL.
 

His receiving production through his first four years is similar to that of Jameson Williams who signed a 3 year $83 million dollar contract extension this year. So even if you give up a third rounder this year, if he walks in free agency you are likely to recoup a similar pick in 2027. An acquisition with upside and very limited downside.

Agree. Just to add wth respect to Shaheed, he may be an X but he is not a #1. Not yet that is. I've seen where people commenting on the Saints say that his route tree has shown good development and Steve Smith has made the same point. He will certainly be motivated to excel in what remains of 2025 since it will impact the kind of deal he can sign as an UFA. If he were to go to another team after playing with the Bills chances that he will sign a big contract are high, the amount/terms thereof being an important measure of his value for compensation purposes. A third is as good as it gets but might be within the realm of possibility.

I’d have to believe he’s borderline untouchable. They don’t even have to pay him yet. I can’t imagine it’s there

AFC is wide open this year. Team has to do something to shore up holes on both sides. I will be surprised if team stays pat.
