Maybe trying to emulate how Cook sets up his blockers. He's got to be his own man though. It's not like he hasn't seen success before. I don't know either. There is a feeling that he's better than he's showing. Maybe too, the Oline is not blocking well for his style of run game. Cook seems to setup his blockers so well, finds his hole and accelerates through it. I think some blocking schemes open holes slowly, some quickly. Maybe he's not seeing the hole the Cook does it. Lot of moving parts and it could be a lot of things. Quote
RunTheBall Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago (edited) A W is a W and man did we need this 40 burger. I’m not going to complain about Brady when you put up 40 points. Seeing the defense show signs of life was great. The addition of Hoecht, Ogunjobi, Hairston, Hancock and Poyer paid off big time. Poyer is a steadying influence out there and I loved the platooning with Hancock who saved a TD and that series ended up in a Carolina TO. McD is calling the defense. Babich has been demoted. He will talk about it being a collaboration but McD has taken over. Good for now. We will see if Bobby can get it back over time The linebackers looked better without Bernard out there. Hopefully he gets his mojo back. Williams made some solid plays after looking like ass, and Shaq Thompson is our best LB right now. I’m so sick of our main guys being injured all the time. Glass Oliver joins Glass Milano, and Glass Bernard as being highly paid players who can’t stay on the field. He popped that bicep tendon. He’s done for the year, might be able to make it back deep in the playoffs. Just ridiculous. Allen is off but that’s ok for now. We’ve gotta be able to win games when Josh doesn’t have an MVP game. I’m not concerned yet, I think he’s going to get his head back on straight. But I don’t like seeing him make crap decisions and missing wide open guys when they actually separate. IDK the reason but he’s carried this team enough over the years that they can carry him while he gets back to form. We need to trade for a WR and a DT immediately. I’d say Shaheed and Harrison Philips are reasonable targets that are doable. I’d love Olave but he’s not coming. Our WR group is not good enough to get it done when the playoffs come. Historically, Josh isn't afraid to throw to tight windows but he is trying to eliminate bad mistakes which again could be he simply hasn't built up enough trust. That usually comes from more reps but these guys are secondary players. Maybe we begin to see an improvement. Coleman though, he's been getting the reps. You'd think he would be getting the ball more. My take is this exactly! If Josh doesn't trust them to catch it...they aren't going to see the ball much. Shakir 7 targets, 6 catches for 88 yards, 1 TD Coleman 4 targets, 3 catches for 30 yards. Kincade 3 targets, 1 catch Knox 1 target, 1 catch Hawes 3 targets, 2 catches Moore 4 targets, 1 catch Davis 1 target, 0 catches Quote

Ray Davis just hits the line at full speed. Sort of like Zach Moss. Quote

The rest were with Trubs. Moore I think only had 2 targets with Allen. 1 Quote
Rockinon Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I'm cautiously optimistic about next weeks game. A lot of good things came out of this game.... Quote

It like as @KOKBILLS says he just is seemingly waits too long to get going and cannot easily make the first guy miss. This year our path to success will be via our OL/TE/RB units, even if a WR comes in we cannot be guaranteed that'll work given the playcalling and pass blocking. Gilliam did a great job lead blocking today. 1 1 Quote

Zach Moss' best year came in Indianapolis, when JT was out and he got 183 rushing attempts. He got over 700 yards, but he only had 4.3 yards per attempt. 1 Quote

Brianmoorman4jesus Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I’d like to see Gore up. The guy has flashed everytime he’s been up and Davis looks like he took a big step back 1 Quote

Matt_In_NH Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I know most think it’s just receivers but Josh is off too me. He is not getting away from the rush and defenses are plastering when he rolls. No throws to RBs. He gives up stuff and then nothing materializes. It will come around…. 4 Quote
RunTheBall Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Ray Davis is done. He decided he wanted to be a different type of back than he was last year for whatever reason and dropped a good amount of weight in the off season. Who the F knows why, the team certainly didn’t tell him to do that. So now he’s a bit lighter, didn’t gain any speed, doesn’t have the juice to be a north and south runner anymore, and he’s playing himself off the team. What a disaster. If he’d just worked on doing more of what he did last year he’d be a great 2nd option but he is ass. I’d include him in any trade if another team wanted him and seriously think about activating Gore for a couple games from the PS and see what he can do. 1 Quote
Brianmoorman4jesus Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago The guys on wgr can’t mention Rasheed shaheed enough. The guy catches 30 balls a year do these guy watch a single non Bills game per year? It’s absolutely sickening how clueless the MFers are 2 Quote

I've been wondering if Josh handing the ball off so much is negatively effecting his pass game. He often starts slow and gets better as the game goes on. Maybe the repetition is what gets him going and he's not getting that while handing the ball off. I know that seems a weak excuse, but as an athlete I too hated coming in cold, and needed to get the blood flowing. Quote
DrDawkinstein Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Max looked good in his limited time. Hoecht was way better than I expected. Bummer about Ed. I get that no one can get open, but Josh doesnt seem himself. Missing protection calls, missing open guys. Nice to be back to a Victory Monday. Needed a decisive win. Quote

I think it’s the blitz pickups being rough the last few weeks weighing on his confidence tbh…his internal clock seems off to me the last few games. This has happened pretty much every year for a stretch even when we were solid at wr I don’t think he mentally cares about receivers getting open or not like that to the point where that’s what would rattle him Edited 2 hours ago by Generic_Bills_Fan 1 Quote
