Game week thread - Bills at Panthers

It’s funny how so many mention screen plays to offset opponents defensive schemes. We haven’t run an effective screen in 10 years or more. Our screens we attempt are pathetic. Can’t figure that out.

I'm not saying the Panthers are a bad team... But they just came off a poor effort barely beating the hapless Jets 13-6 and they lost their starting QB... They better beat the Panthers by infinity... I'll never hear the end of it... 

100%. i just got done listening to it and talking to a colleague who is a niners fan.

 

we both agree that we do not know a single Panthers fan that actually knows football or the greater smarts of it with nuance to know ball. they're all fairweather and once the Panthers suck they're not ever found. as soon as they do well the bandwagon is so ridiculous.

 

panthers fans are obnoxious and annoying. most began their fandom with Jake Delhomme and watched Cam Newton as QB make them believe that stats matter and the game is nothing more than highlight reels vs. an entire game.

 

the avergae ticket price for the panthers even now with their success is like $40 nosebleeds. the cheapest for nosebleeds for the Bills - $400.

The Bills will be locked in this week on winning this Carolina game as much as any regular season game in recent seasons.  If the Panthers beat them, then the massive Bills regression will be full steam ahead.  A loss will mean we can all look forward to the new stadium because that will be the next huge moment involving the club.

if the Bills lose this than they deserve to lose it. allen alone is the reason we win many games and he can't win them all. games in october show up in january and in order to get to the playoffs with momentum it will take winning out or only dropping 1.

Milano, Palmer, Rapp, Samuel, Bernard prob not play this week. Kincaid may but be snap counted.  Same with Jones. 

 

Bring back Milano next week as Will LB

Palmer, Samuel, Bernard and Kincaid really hurt the team when they can't play. Advantage Carolina.   Samuel is a guy that Josh trusts.

 

Milano i don't ever expect back, therefore not disappointed when he's out.  Happily surprised when he's in.

That injury update wasn't exactly what I was hoping to see after the bye.

 

We need one of Kincaid or Palmer back.  Given this report, I'm very surprised we didn't make a  move for a WR w/ the time off.

Why would we? 

 

Brady is happy with the current crew, even if 1/3rd of them are out at any given time.

Shaq Thompson is better than Bernard right now, and since this staff is hell bent on keeping Dorian Williams on the field Shaq+Williams is better than Bernard+Williams

I don't disagree but it just eliminates the depth and rotation... there will be more injuries at LB this season.  As much as people are frustrated with Bernard he did save the Miami game.  He can make some splash plays now and then.

Not true. Bills started running some good ones late last year starting with the Rams game where Ty caught one and rumbled untouched for a 46 yard TD. After that game they had several other ones that worked well too. 

 

This year, not so much

Winnable game. But by no means would this be considered an upset if the Panthers won. They have improved dramatically from last year. 

 

50/50 on this. I'm more confident than I usually would be due to McDermott's record after the bye.

   Mac and Bone on  CLT morning radio are fun. This poor town has suffered immensely under Tepper and this is the first time in over half a decade they have a glimmer of any hope. The Panthers are on the up…. Good for them.

   I watched the game this weekend and the Jets run D and S.Gardner alone make them better than our D. They held the Panthers backs on check and their pass rush kept the passing game from working well. 
   If I were to bet, I’d put my money on Buffalo but not by much. 
   If the Bills team we’ve seen for most of this season shows up, they are losing this game. I don’t expect that but this game is going to tell us who’s right and who isn’t in regards to this “ every year slump” theory.
