CSBill Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago And here we are a year later, and no one wants him, or he wants no one? Quote
Bleeding Bills Blue Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago 2 hours ago, Pete said: Rapp has been horrible this season. The numbers show that. He used to be one of the tacklers in the NFL. Now he often misses tackles. He’s taken bad angles all season, and is out of position often. It’s so bad- I much prefer Poyer starting over Rapp. Rapp has lost his mojo Missed tackles are missed tackles - and he leads the team. Angles are harder to measure, same with block shedding - and he's been bad at both. I'd agree on poyer unless something else uncovers via a trade. Neither are the best athletes but poyer has more of the mental make-up to make fewer mistakes. Rapp can be that 3rd safety in center field dime looks, but he's a major reason that the rush defense has been so poor. Even that henry TD where he trucked bishop, that was rapp missing his run fit and getting blocked so bishop was again sprinting over to try and save a TD. Quote
boater Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago I don't think a trade will happen. The new team is responsible for the player's base salary, and any remaining guaranteed money. A team with limited cap space is restricted to acquiring players with smaller remaining salaries unless they can perform creative accounting. The 2025 salary cap constrains Bean's ability to maneuver. I suppose Bean could trade an expensive player to get an expensive player, but of our good players, who can we really give up? Quote

Take JA out and replace him with a mid-level starter and it's a 1-5 team at best. At this point, whatever Bean does to fix his past errors is just a bandaid. A WR gives us a chance to cover the massive defesive deficiencies that have led to us being carved up by a bunch of mid-level QBs. We need, at least, the following: an actual #1 WR, (DJ Moore would be ideal), an actual safety. With a WR and safety we may have enough to contend for the SB, but that's a big if, because we still need a LB (ours are always hurt due to McFranklin's obsession with small LBs), and a CB. We could also use a RB2 to cover for Cook so he's not on track to lead the NFL in rushes. I've just depressed myself. This roter is really, really bad for having a franchise QB. If you really want to get depressed, go look at the Pats’ remaining schedule. I’m having a hard time finding more than 2 losses. I’ll be surprised if we win the AFCE. We suddenly look like about the sixth or seventh best team in the AFC. Quote

I’ve been banging on the table for Shaheed! He is what the Bills offense needs, fastest speed in the NFL, and only on the books for 1.2 million in 2025. Beane get off your ass and make this trade now! 3 Quote

Either way we didnt get much out of him? Was that due to Brady's inability to use him or Cooper's somewhat detached attitude? Where is Amari today? That should answer all your questions. I don’t think Vrabel will allow that team to slump with their easy schedule, and they have plenty of cap space to add a marquee player if they identify one that could help. I just have this sinking feeling that those “Beasts of the East” shirts will be relegated to garage rags, and the Bills have won exactly NOTHING when they had the opportunity. Quote

Ok 100% he is a free agent at the end of the year though so if they are interested in keeping him they probably already have an idea of his cost going forward. They are probably weighing that vs the return they could get in a trade now. Have to think there is no way Kellen Moore will want to trade him in any scenario. Quote

BVBILLS Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Crappy trade for us in retrospect, but Cooper did make defenses back off. Wonder why Bean/Mc Clappy didn't think the same thing would happen this season? Do we have a WR that scares any defense they will get loose? Quote

And something was starting to change in the Atlanta game. They obviously came out with a plan and Josh was working the ball to Palmer in the intermediate to deep areas in ways that he hadn't this season. Then Palmer got hip-drop tackled, and that was that. 1 Quote

All went up when he was on the field. Thanks for this post. Good borderline great players help everyone on the Offense without ever touching the football because they demand extra attention in the game planning and play calling IMO. 1 Quote
