JMM Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I understand why McDermott likes to do this. Hopeful of making an early statement and double dipping at the end of the half and start of 3rd. BUT, this year's D is so bad, so putrid, it's simply a poor decision now. They tend to allow a long td drive. Gives the other team and their crowd hope, puts immediate pressure on the O and just gives a bad vibe to start the games. At this point if we win the toss I think we should take the ball! 2 1 2 Quote
Aussie Joe Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I see the opposite argument made a lot … Anyone got any stats on how often the team starting with the ball wins the game ? I suspect it’s close to 50/50.. Quote

machine gun kelly Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Most teams defer now. This is a silly argument. I’m frustrated too, but not stating dumb stuff. Nothing against the op as I get he’s frustrated. Quote
Gilberto Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I think the opportunity to "steal" a possession after halftime is worth it. I could easily see the inverse happening too, which would give the Bills opponent hope, which is a quick 3 and out by the Bills offense. Quote

Nothing against the op as I get he’s frustrated. Explain why it's dumb and silly. How is giving up a lead with poor defense repeatedly to start a game not something to consider when making that decision at this time? 1 Quote

Our defense is bad bad, but we do have solid pass rush this year, and making a team more 1 dimensional early makes that job easier. we set the tone. 2 Quote
Low Positive Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago To your point, the Falcons won the toss, took the ball, and scored a TD. 2 Quote

This is right as the snap is occurring, LoS in the 31: Quote
billsfan89 Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago I am always for deferring. No matter the scenario you always want the ball to start the second half. If you are down you can start your comeback, if you are tied that extra possible possession can make a difference, if you are winning you want the chance to build your lead. 1 Quote

SoCal Deek Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago He’s Offside. What’s the problem? (Other than that Groot is generally a non factor on the D Line.) Quote
DrDawkinstein Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago The Falcons won the toss and elected to receive so not sure what this thread is about. In general, it's correct to defer. Quote

bubba2018 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago the bills defense played better in the second half, might as well take the ball Quote
