I'm not sure what the final record will be - but I agree - no playoffs. Josh is wayyy too pissed right now at the org. He needs to get his candy brain sugar rush attitude off his face. Hopefully they work with him over the bye on this.

The mind numbingness on this board is at an all-time high. As if they will continue to play as bad as possible the remainder of the season...as if we haven't seen this exact same storyline play out multiple years already.

 

At what point do you believe the best predictor of future results is many years of previous results in the same situation?

 

Or in other words, the definition of insanity is seeing the same thing happen over and over but then expecting different results from the past. 

 

The Bills have lost 2 games a row every year since 2017.

Bills record the last 5 years:

11-6

I mean theoretically if we follow the script, we will be 11-6 this year. If not then probably 12-13 W.

I definitely wouldn't bet against the Bills yet. Year after year they've put themselves into a similar position and dig their way out by the end of November.

 

Have you watched Joe Marino's All-22 breakdown? I don't take his word as gospel, but the losses so far are pretty squarely on coaching and gameplanning. Game script is probably the one thing the Bills have the most control over. I don't buy the argument that the Bills are just so devoid of talent that they can't be competitive. 

 

I think 8-3 the rest of the way is definitely possible.

This has been a good reset of reality.  We're not definitively the best team in the league.  The gaps that we have in depth (like every team has) are becoming clearer.  There are things to work on.

 

However.....

 

The bills are 4-2 this season, have one of the best consistent offense for multiple years running, and play many teams that are far more flawed than we are.  They are going to win more games than they lose by a significant margin, most likely win the division, and still be competing for AFC champ.  I still see us between 11-14 wins.

Squeaking into the playoffs at like 10-7 with zero expectations (and thus, little pressure) might be a blessing in disguise. Would definitely suck not having one last playoff game at the Ralph, though.

The last Jet game maybe it unfortunately.  Too bad, really wanted the AFC championship in Buffalo as the great story.

Bills are 30-8 post bye since 2020 under McD including 1 meaningless loss last year in a game they rested starters at the end of the year.  Meaning in real games, 30-7, for an an 81.8% win percentage.

 

One thing with this team is that you typically get their best in the regular season when their best is required.

 

I doubt that changes

I'd certainly be happy w/ 12-5, and think that will win the division as long as a W is against the Pats.  

 

But this is laid out too obviously.  I could see us beating the Chiefs and losing to the Texans, or beating the Eagles and losing to the Bengals.  Or beating everyone, of course.

Looking at that schedule there are a lot of highly potential losses on there, especially if the D doesn’t improve drastically. 
 

if they get on a roll and win a bunch of them I’ll be genuinely surprised. But as for KC, I don’t care if we lose that. Screw the tie breaker, we always beat them in the regular season and then they get revenge in the postseason. Let them beat the hell out of us in this one and the Bills can use it to get that extra 5% effort  needed to win in the playoffs.
