Anybody asking for Calvin Ridley has not seen him play this year. He looks washed & would probably have even less on an impact for the Bills than Amari Cooper did.

If we trade for a WR its going to be some has-been that will contribute little.

Its Beane’s MO.

Metcalf and Pickens being available this past offseason and Beane sitting on his hands is so frustrating. That talent is not available often.

He could have had BOTH for only a 2nd and 3rd round pick. Allen would have feasted.

I hope that last part isn’t true because if it is I’m gonna have to kill myself.

I am extremely bummed about Coleman. Thought he had turned a corner in that 1st game.

When I think about that draft. We could have traded up for Thomas, or taken McConkey.  Very hindsighty, but it seems like our guy has had the least impact out of all of the receivers taken early.

I think that the frustration (not that I want to make this another Keon thread) is that it wasn’t hindsighty. There were a lot of experts, Matt Harmon in particular, that hated Keon as a prospect. Keon has looked pretty much exactly like he did in college both good and bad. Keon struggling to get open and being inefficient was to be expected.

This isn’t like “we should have taken Puka at 150 instead of Justin Shorter.” That’s hindsighty. No one was banging the table that we needed (or anyone needed) Puka. He is a guy that was probably undervalued, that had a great skill set and ended up in a perfect situation. He exploded into one of the game’s best players. That’s hindsighty. The Coleman situation isn’t. He was a flawed prospect that many had rated lower.

Are those his Pitt stats? Wouldn’t surprise me. He has been dealing with awful quarterback play his entire career until Dallas. Last year he played with Fields and Wilson.

If you would take one moment to watch him actually play, like @Sojourner said, you would see he makes ridiculous catches look they’re nothing.

He has HOF talent.

Thats his stats through 6 games. He’s abusing people

yea, honestly worthy-Keon-mcconkey have played out very on point with their core profiles, right?

Sounds like Beane's kind of guy.

If we don’t get a #1, I still think we can win with what we have.  ATL has one of the best secondaries in the NFL, and we tried to force it there without Kincaid and Palmer.  We didn’t use Cook on blitzes.  We didn’t use Shakir on underneath routes.  I hope he practices toe dragging.  Our team will reset and go on a run.  With JA17, we will win the division.

Jakobi Meyers is my prediction

Which is "fine."  It's not sexy, it's not a huge needle-mover - but he would give us a good boost.

I did not realize that. Thanks for that info. I will confess to not having watched any Titans games.

The fact Bean would not do these trades are reason enough for him to be canned.  He legitimately is an egomaniac who believes he can draft someone better or his “everyone eats” philosophy is solid.  His drafting record would likely net a JAG in those rounds, and he passes on Pickens and Metcalf.

Meyers had 87 for 1027 last year

29 for 329 this year

Meyer’s has no QB this year.

Better hope that McDermott isn't speaking for Beane here otherwise we're in for a long season:

if McD actually believes that he is as much an egomaniac as Bean.

Then you have to pay them. Pit paid DK 33 mil/year and they have 20 or so mil in cap space per Spotrac. Cant do that when youre paying a QB like the Bills are. Wouldve got Pickens for 3rd + day 3 pick but had him for a year.

You certainly can.

Palmer and Moore together have a higher cap hit than DK this year.

Now, can you afford very good players when you pay a QB AND spend a lot of money on not so good players? No, you can’t.

Lol - so you counter back against my point Allen doesn't throw a great deep ball with a pass from his rookie year to a wide open Foster, a play where John Brown threw the ball to Allen (so not an Allen pass nor a long pass), and one pass from several years ago to Davis?  Geezus.

https://www.nfl.com/videos/allen-overthrows-wide-open-diggs-misses-on-possible-89-yard-td

There is a whole ton of passes to Diggs in his final year here where he was wide open and the ball was either under thrown and caught preventing a TD or bigger gain on a more accurate pass, or flat out missed for an incompletion or interception.

You will be hard pressed to find someone who loves Josh more than me, and I do think he is the best QB in the NFL.  But I can still be unbiased about his strengths and weaknesses, and his deep ball placement is not the best part of his game.

Yes you can. You just need to get creative with the cap.  There is a ton of cap currently being wasted on jags that could be replaced for much less with similar results. Thinking that you can't pay 30 million to a receiver because the QB is being paid is how you wind up with guys like Curtis Samuel and Josh Palmer and even Bernard.  You dont think replacing them with DK Metcalf would improve the team?
